    Chicken noodle pho

Cambie Vietnam was such a pleasant surprise for me as I've just moved to Main Street area and was looking for a new pho place. I was sick too so I ordered a chicken noodle pho to go. $12.95 for a small which I thought was great value, especially when it arrived! It was HUGE! I like how when they pack the pho the separate hr broth from the noodles, it's truly the only way to pack pho. Tons of chicken too in this soup and lots of noodles. It comes with a big portion of sprouts too hoisin and hot sauce. I barely made a dent in my bowl and have a whole other meal! Immediately on taste I noticed the rich sweeter southern Vietnam style broth which is so tasty! I haven't had this style in awhile so it was a welcome surprise. The chicken was tender and seasoned nicely and the noodles were perfect. I would definitely order from here again!

Delicious Vietnamese restaurant right on Cambie. It may not looks flashy from the outside but the food are really good. I ordered Banh cuon (steamed crepes) and Cha Gio (spring rolls) for my late night snack and I love them both! The cha gio is big and super crunchy. Banh cuon has a little thicker wrap than usual but it's still tasty! The filling contains ground pork and mushroom, which is original! The owners are friendly and nice. Definitely will come back to try out more of their dishes.

House Special Pho with deep fried spring roll (All Day Special Combo 1, large pho, $15.50)

This is a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I can understand why it has been around for decades. They offer an extensive menu including some harder to find items like the steamed rice rolls (they call it steamed crepes on their menu). Prices were reasonable. We ordered the house special pho with the deep fried spring roll and dinner entree combination F for lunch. I really enjoyed the deep fried spring rolls. It is exactly how I like it made with the rice paper wrapper instead of the wheat wrapper. There is an airy crunch I liked biting into these spring rolls. The filling was nicely seasoned. The was one of the better ones I have eaten in awhile. The pho broth was flavourful without being too greasy. There was an okay amount of noodles and beef toppings. The combination plate offered a good variety of items to try. There was a chicken skewer, a beef skewer, a spring roll, some steamed rice rolls and vermicelli noodles. All items were made well and I enjoyed my meal. The rice rolls had a pork and wood ear fungus filling. The skewers were nicely marinated. Service was great. We got menus, ice water and a booster seat right away. Food arrived in reasonable time too. I only wished they opened a location closer to my home.

Addicted to their calamari... Hard to resist the yummy dishes. Reminds me of the old Saigon Vina etc. It's actually on Main not Cambie.

Wonderful food and flavour. If you want Vietnamese but more than the traditional flavour of pho, you need to check this place out. It is comfort food that you know but the flavour of the broth and dishes feels like home. So good.

A must-try Vietnamese restaurant As a Vietnamese I have to say this restaurant has the closest to the original taste of Vietnamese dishes. The taste here is more of the South vietnam, rich and slightly sweet. The must-try dish is the fried rolls or deep fried rolls. The fillings is so fresh with pork, and shrimp. I can even clearly feel the shrimp. Highly recommend the seafood sour soup as well. The ingredients are really fresh. Customer service is amazing. Though this is a family restaurant and the couple that owns the restaurant also serve customers, they are quick and really welcoming. The place is spacious, authentically decorated as most family restaurants in Vietnam. They have the all-day special menu that I think a good deal

The chili-lime tofu, my go-to, is grilled fresh and juicy with a tangy marinade. I find these bowls very filling, but the price adds up quickly as you add more salad scoops, so I find it best to be conservative with my estimate of how much I think I need to eat. Besides the salad bowls, they have some hot entrees. I tried the Moroccan chickpea hot bowl and the tomato soup and both were a little bland, which was especially disappointing for something labelled "Moroccan". I would go back and try some different entrees to see if anything else is better, but I would say the salads are likely the best choice here. They have a very limited selection of "healthy" baked goods too. I really liked the chocolate pistachio cookie. As you would expect, it's significantly less sweet and has a slightly drier texture than a regular cookie, but if you like that kind of "better for you" treat, it's good. Very cocoa-forward. I've had good experiences with the service. The staff is friendly enough and usually pretty fast. It's counter service, but they'll usually bring your food to you at your table. There's a good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside when the weather allows. It's minimalist but clean.

I never knew this place was called HBC Gourmet Market, but I finally remembered to take note of it…read morethe next time I visited. It's a bakery and deli. This is the place where I usually buy cakes for the office. Their cakes are pre-made and placed in the displays for you to choose from. They make cakes throughout the day, but if you're unlucky they could be low on choices if you're there at the wrong time. If you have time, order ahead, but I don't usually have any problems with walk ins. The most recent cakes that I purchased were the Lemon Meringue and the Chocolate. Both cakes were sweet, light and fluffy. They were a hit in the office.

The HBC Gourmet Market is a little known great eatery in downtown Vancouver. It is located on the bottom floor of the Hudson's Bay Company (next to the Pacific Centre food court). It appears to be relatively unknown because Yelp doesn't know about it and so many people are always asking where I buy my lunch! Here you will find a very tasty selection of typical deli fare... The soups, salads, and sandwiches are their main selects but there is a whole lot more! My favourites are the Thai Chicken soup and the Chipotle Chicken Soup... usually ordered with a Greek salad. I am always so pleased with my lunch that I made this my very first review on Yelp!

Korean guy at the front waves at us, asks how many people, and directs us to a seat. Then another Korean guy comes over and scolds us, telling us to next time please wait at the front until being seated. Clearly they have some organizational issues here and not a great start to this visit. We place our order. Food for 2 of our 4 arrive about 10 mins later. The food for the other 2 people arrive another 20 mins later. Meanwhile the food for the first 2 ppl just sit there. Thankfully they were in clay pots so it was still warm at least, but this is ridiculous. There is no reason for this. If you're slow to get food out, fine, but bring it all out at once. The restaurant itself is huge, looks like a lounge and bar but mostly empty. The staff are all dressed differently too in street clothes so its hard to tell who works there. They are clearly struggling with understaffing. We had a caucasian waitress who came by to deliver food. She was very nice and friendly. About the food. We ordered: kimchi soondubu - asked for extra spicy, it was barely spicy. beef/seafood mixed soondubu - asked for spicy, it was straight up not spicy. The broth base was the same for each, and lacked depth of flavour. The tofu itself was pretty good, silky smooth, but tofu takes on the flavours of whatever it's cooked with and in this case, not much... The beef in these was just ok and there wasnt much of it. The seafood in the mixed one amounted to 1 clam and 1 shrimp shell-on. There was nothing else in it. 2/5 for both of these. Gamjatang - medium sized portion, good for 2, maybe 3 people. Meat was ok, broth was not bad. Solid average. 3/5. banchan served with the meals were the biggest disappointment. 2/5. This might be the most disappointing banchan ive had in a Korean restaurant in a long time. They served regular cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and bean sprouts. thats it. None of them were particularly good (not bad, just nothing great). And for a party of 4, they served a single portion of each banchan for the whole table. We had to ask for refills 3 more times. You have 4 diners, all with food that comes with Banchan normally. Wouldnt it be reasonable to bring out 4 portions of banchan right off the bat? Especially when you're understaffed? Overall: Main dishes 2.5/5. Banchan 2/5 for overall selection and quality. Service 2/5 - really comes down to severe understaffing and really poor management of how the kitchen is run. The staff there do their best but they need help. Venue 3/5. Overall, 2 to 2.5/5. This place might be the worst Korean place on the Robson strip of all the ones Ive been to. That's saying a lot, since Vancouver doesnt have amazing Korean food to begin with, and this is one of the worst of the bunch.

The grilled cheese was alright though in comparison to the porchetta sandwich. Great cheese pull, definitely needs some dipping sauce to elevate it though.
