It was a bit colder/foggier than we had originally anticipated, so we were worried about proceeding with one of our locations (Baker Beach) in case the fog was too thick to see Golden Gate. This post is long overdue but I cannot day enough wonderful things about Christine!! Not only is she warm, personable, and fun to hang out with but she takes the most stunning photographs. Have you been to a wedding or had pictures taken where they make you do awkward poses (tilt your head this way, angle that way, etc) or repeat the same movement multiple times to get the shot? That's not going to happen with Christine! Even for camera shy people, it really does just feel like you're hanging out, laughing, and she nails the photo every time! Simply put: Christine is the best of the best. I hired Christine to photograph my proposal to my fiancee, and she went above and beyond to make the entire process and experience amazing. We have used Christine to take family photos 4 times now (newborn photos with both our boys, and holiday photos twice), and we have been so happy with the outcome each and every time! Christine is professional and prompt, and I like how she is directive (where to stand, pose ideas, etc) without being overbearing. I like her more photojournalistic, natural style (she prefers to use natural light, capture families "in the moment," etc). I feel that this always makes our photos turn out much more authentic then if we were to have gone to a studio. Additionally, I love that she offers 20-min "mini" sessions in the Fall, which are perfect for Christmas cards. (And really, most kids can't last more than 20-mins anyway!) Lastly, Christine is great at shooting with dogs! I've been so impressed with how she has been able to capture photos of our dog, Maple, with our family (two young boys and a stubborn Frenchbulldog are a lot to corral, but somehow Christine manages!) Wow! We could not have asked for a better experience for our Engagement Photo Shoot with Christine Chen on Mount Tam in November. From the beginning Christine was amazing! She worked with us before the shoot to talk about where we wanted the photos taken, what type of styles we liked and offered to share a Pinterest board with me so I could share what I was looking for. You could tell she really wanted the experience to be personal and really be all about you as a couple instead of a generic engagement shoot. She also had lots of great advice and was very professional, checking in with us leading up to the date and giving us ideas for what to bring/ clothes to wear etc. The day of the shoot she was right one time/early and ready to go to for our shoot. I was a little nervous, I am not naturally someone who likes having their photo taken, but Christine put me right at ease. Her personality really made the experience fun and natural, which I think is really important because it shows in the pictures. After the shoot, she followed up quickly to check in and show us a few preview shots, we were so excited, usually it takes weeks! She followed up soon after with our entire edited album and they could not have turned out better. Christine did an amazing job shooting our sf city hall wedding. Not only is she an extremely talented photographer with a natural eye for angles and lighting, but she was so friendly and made my family and I feel so comfortable around her. We have two small children and I can rarely get a picture of the two of them even looking at the camera at the same time and she managed to capture the four of us all together, looking at the camera and smiling! She was very professional and open minded about shot suggestions and certain things that I wanted to make sure to capture. We even received our sneak peek photos the same day that our wedding took place and I received all the edited, ready-to download images in exactly one week. My fiancee and I are huge Disney fans who got engaged and will get married at Disneyland, so of course we needed our engagement photos done in Disneyland. Christine was not only willing to make the trip to Disneyland, but she was super excited! She asked us for any Pinterest inspiration and also sent us some of hers as well. We're also not the most comfortable with PDA, especially in front of a camera, but Christine immediately made it easy for us. The main reason why I chose her was for how natural her style was; no poses, just natural affection and love. She just gives subtle directions, but generally just lets us do our thing and magically creates the most amazing photos. We had some specific requests for where to take some shots and she hit every one of those. While we were walking through the park, she'd even pull us for some shots in places I would've never thought of and they turned out perfect! The whole experience was truly magical in the happiest place on earth and we didn't even have wait long to see the edited photos. I honestly cannot rave about Christine enough! My sister's friend recommended Christine to me and I am so glad the one day we were available to take photos in September worked out. Christine is extremely professional, responsive, and comfortable to be around. Christine was so flexible and accommodating to our needs; even when my fiancé forgot one of his outfits, she had no problem waiting for us while he grabbed a button up shirt near by. Rain was forecasted throughout the day of our shoot, and Christine remained flexible with the shooting hours and even offered to reschedule to another day if we preferred. My husband and I were referred to Christine through a colleague at work. We live in San Francisco, but our wedding was in Boston and our wedding photographer lived in North Carolina so we needed to find a local photographer for engagement photos. We can't tell you how awesome it was having Christine with us on our wedding day as our wedding photographer! We met her months ahead of time and she was so warm and welcoming, instantly making us feel at ease and really wanting to find out our story and what we were looking for for our wedding. She was so genuine and easy to work with every step of the way. For this story, that is just the tip of the iceberg. We hired her for our intimate 20 guest wedding that was all supposed to take place (wedding and reception) over the course of about 4 hours at one single location. We found out literally the day before our wedding that an incident had occurred at our venue and we weren't going to be able to use the space, talk about a nightmare. I (the bride) called Christine, obviously super distraught and not knowing what we were going to do in order to move forward with this wedding, but as all of our guests had flown from the east coast to Seattle to attend the show had to go on was the situation, even though we didn't have a plan. She answered the phone and I'm sure she couldn't understand but every third word that I said as I was so upset, but in the end I was left with a "don't worry at all, anything I can do to help, just let me know." Hearing that made such a difference! We ended up having to have our wedding reception at a second location and she didn't miss a beat, she shot TWO locations that she had never had a chance to see before and she made it look easy and took care of us. Our contract didn't change, even with the circumstances, and her thoughtfulness and understanding with that will stay with me for a long time. In the chaos of what is now a stellar wedding story, she was an awesome constant who took care of us and made it so she was the last thing that we had to worry about.
