Super friendly, honest people! The employees helped me what I was looking for, and I was out of there quickly. However, I was hoping to get the usual French butter that Viets use for their dishes, but they have a different brand. It tasted the same though! Shop here all the time, love their fresh foods selections. Veggies are always fresh with great Vietnamese variety. We even buy wholesale from them sometimes, 10% off. Staffs are much friendlier compared to other Asian Markets, they do say thank you here. ;) read more

Best Vietnamese market by a huge margin! There's a huge reason why they have grown to be the top selling Vietnamese market. Sales are in season produce and cheap product rather then expired or bad product like the other big Vietnamese market down the street. Price are cheaper then the other big market as well. read more

This store is very petty! I was stopped at the front and wasn't allowed in because of not wearing gloves. Clearly there are a handful of shoppers without gloves in the damn store. If you are going to have regulations in place then you should preach it. Not coming back. read more

I created a yelp! Account just so I can left this review, this place does NOT deserve anything more than ZERO stars! I have been there a couple times (since is in my way from work to my apartment) I even bought chicken here once, BIG MISTAKE! Whole family got sick. But today was just the limit! I went there to get food for my dogs and cat, and when I was putting the cans in the carriage I realize everything was expired.. SINCE 2017!!!!!!! Call the staff to ask for any more recent food, they start talking between them and then re-check the cans, of course there wasn't any newer cans and I mean.. that's wrong, but what really push me to write this was that, when I begin walking towards the register THE STAFF JUST START MAKING FUN OF ME! they where saying how it didn't matter and how it was just dogs! I wish the manager was there, but apparently he's only good to tell you to leave your backpack/purse in the unsupervised front desk they have with very easy access to anyone to take it!! It was beyond disrespectful and it's not the first time they do this, if you have any self respect I will just walk the extra 10 minutes to ANY OTHER supermarket. read more

This Asian grocery market catered strictly to the Asian community. The staff has much to learn and improve of their customer service skill. I've had a personal dealing with one of the owners and and it was bad. The man (growing bald and wearing glasses) was rude, uneducated and stubborn; he was readily took offense in some imaginary slight. One of the cashier, female, smiled to me and as I turned to leave said nasty thing to my back (she must have thought that I could not understand Vietnamese.) There are other Asian grocery markets around this area, one less than 1/3 of a mile on Dorchester Ave. which would not give you heart-ache and head-ache. What's wrong with this store man? So, they have this reward system that if you spend $50 or so on grocery, you'll get a free bag of MSG. Who in their right mind would give out MSG as an incentive, moreover, who would even take MSG?? "Here, free MSG! Free MSG! Thanks for shopping at our store and come back again!" Oh, thank you. Gee, what great reward you have! And boy, the fish really stinks here. You'd really have to hold your breath when going in the back to buy some fish. This is a just medium sized Vietnamese grocery store in Dorchester, that's jammed packed with lots of things inside. The aisles are small (with boxes on the ground too), so it's hard to move around, needless to say move aside for people to pass through. The veggies are sometimes hit-or-miss. Sometimes they're fresh, but other times they're very wilted and they're still left out for people to buy. This store is not really trustworthy enough for me to buy my meats here because they seem to lack adequate temperatures to keep them fresh. What's good here is that there's a small parking lot that you can park, instead of parking (or worst, double parking) in the street. read more

This opened about six weeks ago, but I hadn't been until recently. It's the answer to my Asian cooking needs and super close, plus they have 8th Continent soymilk in the half gallon size, which is great. There is a closer, smaller market, but this one is big and new and clean and has a larger selection of groceries. Great banh mi rolls too. read more

I always find something new whenever I shop here. It's pretty close to my apartment, and there are a lot of interesting vegan foods. Just today, I bought dairy-free coconut Popsicles, almond milk, and fried local tofu. Overall, it's a great place to get cheap foods and good staples, but don't expect to find everything on your grocery list here. read more

Solid Vietnamese market. My rule of thumb is don't buy anything that doesn't have a price tag. For example, a bag of cherries. You're averaging $2-3 but it comes out to $6.50 & you're like WTF!!!! I've gotten some blackberries here which were cheap....and molded quickly. Meat is a hit or miss. I go for the packaged. Veggies are good here. I look for the deals, such as sliced mushrooms for .99¢ vs whole mushrooms for $2 May not seem like a lot but grocery shopping is expensive and I'll take any deal I can. They have a plethora of Asian tea, snacks, and condiments. Don't be hesitant, treat yourself to something new. MSG, be damned. read more

It's your typical Asian market, albeit smaller than Super88. I don't have much to say except that it was pretty clean when I went in, their fish area looked pretty good and the produce section was small but they had lots of things. I love love love this market. Fantastic fresh fish that they clean for you, good veggies and the best purple yams I've ever had, they even have almond milk. The cashiers are the sweetest, and I love the fact that you can also get Puerto Rican, Mexican, Jamaican, or vegan foods/spices. Got a hankerin for fake ham? Check. Back here after 6 years. Now it's huge. But they have a great choice of fresh fish and cheap veggies. It depends on their stock, but when it's recent it's great. Fresh Asian mushrooms, cheap bananas, cheap fresh cherries in summer. MANGOES! They were great and cheap in season. Freshest scallions, water cress and cilantro are always there. I am going to study the Vietnamese cuisine in order to make use of all freshest Vietnamese vegetables (mostly looking like some sort of grass) they have in stock. Sure this shop is not comparable with big chain supermarkets, it's local business. It's not organic or bio-fashionable shop and it does not pretend to rock your world but it's wroth it's existence 200% If you speak Spanish it is a plus since fishmongers are from Central America. This is one of the worse stores in dorchester for vietnamese/azn products. i used to every now and then stop by to pick up thing or two but now i know why i don't like going there. i was there recently and was rip off by the old man who rung me up. i called to make a complaint but it seems to go in one ear and out the other as no one was willing to help me. called numerous of times to talk to the owner but was told he's not there. i would report them to the bbb but their not listed with the bbb. never in my life will i ever go to this stupid store! read more

This market is great for purchasing Vietnamese food. I was extremely disappointed when I brought a Durian ($2.84/per pound) in the amount of $17.00 last month. Before purchasing it, I asked the male owner of the market and the other staff there: "Is this durian good? It is expensive." they both said: " It is delicious and very good!". I trusted them. Guess what, I needed to throw it away because we just could not eat it. It is shame for about a small amount of money $17.00; they were willing to cheat on the customer. So my advice is that don't buy the durian there. read more

My mom used to shop here all the time for our groceries when I was young. If you are Vietnamese, this store is probably the 3rd best store for you to get your food in Dorchester. It's not that clean but it has never been. If you need to essentials such as Fish Sauce, hoisin sauce or shrimp paste, this place has the goods. This is a small market that tries to have everything its customers need. Space is their biggest issue. The prices are good, and we have never had any issue with quality of the fish, it seems very fresh. I watch them take deliveries in daily. Lately they have been trying to squeeze more specialty products in the front shelves, and I think they try hard to have good selection. The listing says they don't accept credit cards, but I have used my credit card there many times, don't worry about having to bring cash to shop. read more

I went to this market before, even though it was small and a little bit dirty but the price was good. Everything is cheaper compare to their competitor Truong Thinh Supermarket. If you really pay attention to the price, it beat Truong Thinh almost $1 for a lot of items...The customer services was excellent, even the boss carry the bag out to your car... They will open a big , cleaner store on the same street , I'll definitely go there. I went to this market before with my heel on, can't carry much, but the cashier helped me to carry bags out to my car, I really like them. RECOMMENDED. read more
