I love how they have a variety of options of spice levels because it gives me the option of mild plus. Spicy, but not to the extreme of medium. I ordered the curry noodles, plenty of sauce and veggies especially bean sprouts which was really nice and a hefty portion. Two to three meals for sure. A win! Celebrating... this used to be Bangkok Cuisine; it was my fave Thai spot. Now #PhuketThai. The Tom Yum was amazing-im used to a larger bowl, but the taste was spot on. I'll not be going back to my "old" fave Thai place on Hall road, cuz the fresh shrimp roll here at Phuket beat the rice wrapper off theirs! The main thing is the food, amazing! Fantastic always. My family and I have been ordering for a good 2 years now and never had a problem. The food is always phenomenal and right. The lady with the horse teeth at the front desk though... horrible. She is the most rude lady ever. Slammed the food into my brothers hand after we ordered well over $130 in food. Think she was upset we didn't tip even though she didn't do a single thing but ring us up. Never once had a problem but this one time and ended up calling to tell somebody and kind of disappointed with the service of this person at the front. I think this is going to be our new favorite Thai food place. I asked for extra peanuts and they gave me a whole bowl of their peanut topping and it's amazing. I'm so glad they gave me extra because I ended up using it on another meal. The portions are very big and we loved everything that we ordered. I am a pad Thai girl tried and true. Absolutely phenomenal food, I got the beef curry rice noodle, and my fiancé got chicken pad Thai, Both were very delicious and they gave us wonderfully large portion of food. There could be a little more protein in there, a little more chicken with a pad, Thai and a little more beef with the curry dish, but still absolutely delicious. My buddy and I ordered the exact same meal, with the only difference being that his was mild, and mine was medium-plus. While he got nice chunks of meat, I received mostly small pieces that were mostly breading. It felt like I was eating more breading than meat. I ate about a third of it but had them take the rest back because I didn't want to bring it home. The waitress kindly offered to redo it, but I declined since I'm not comfortable sending food back -- you never know what might happen to it. I'm writing this review so it doesn't happen again. I paid $11 and expected better quality. I still tipped $9 for the great service, but I won't be returning. Just serve what people pay for, and there won't be an issue. We ordered carryout of Phuket Thai on a Friday. First off, they give you huge portions as we were able to eat leftovers the next two days. The Pad Thai was decent but actually was better reheated the next two days than the day we ordered it. The low point of the meal was the hot and sour soup as it didn't have much flavor. On the other hand, the Long Song (peanut curry) dish and Tom Yum soup were amazing! We will definitely order carryout again but will most likely avoid the hot and sour soup. read more

This was such a disappointment :( we got a chicken pad thai and shrimp pad thai (both hot spice). You do get a decent portion for the lunch option but my issue is the way they added spice. Our noodles were literally brown from how much unusual seasoning they added. Most thai places add crushed red pepper. This made our dishes inedible. It was so thickly coated in spice, it became unpleasant to eat. I'm not sure what the spice is but it was a good amount of heat, it just tastes so bad. I'm really sad about this read more

Food is still good. Portions are a relatively good size... BUT, the prices have increased and new prices are not on their menu yet. My updated review is mostly to say that the staff is utterly rude and makes me question if we will go back. My husband called to place the order and asked for a sauce on the side for our daughter. He was told very sternly "sauce already on side". Okay. Great. Menu doesn't state that. Then he asked for white rice for that dish and got yelled at, "ALREADY COMES WITH WHITE RICE". The menu doesn't state ANY side and several side options are listed further down the menu. Maybe the customers don't know what's offered or how it's prepared because your menu isn't clear. Phuket Thai - This is my dinner serving of drunken noodle w/shrimp. 14$ - Thai Near Me - Chesterfield, Michigan

2020-07-14. Phuket Thai. Chesterfield, MI. Looking to support small businesses during these unprecedented times, I was actually just trolling through google maps looking for places to eat. Searching for Thai places, this one popped up and it was not one I recognized so I decided to give it a try. The place is located in the same plaza as the MJR Theater on west side of Gratoit just south of 23 Mile Rd. When we got there there, there was plenty of free parking in the plaza and it turns out to be in the exact same location as the former Bangkok Cuisine. There was a huge sign indicating that the place was under new management with the temporary name of Phuket Thai. To get the COVID questions out of the way: They're open without modified hours. They are enforcing masks while inside and ordering. They do not provide face masks. They do provide hand sanitizer. Employees are wearing masks. Employees are wearing gloves if handling food. Social distancing is enforced. Only one group inside at a time. The dining room is closed. Take away only for walk in's. Curbside contactless pick up available. They do deliver via Door Dash and Grub Hub. They offer contactless payment via debit/credit card transactions. Being our first time, we went with our favorites to see how well they stack up to our tastebuds. An order of the classic Chicken Pad Thai, Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Curry, and Tom Yum Soup. As luck would have it, they were carrying a special. $5 Pad Thai (except seafood) all day on Tuesdays, so one of our Pad Thai's got a bit of a break, bonus! Before I go on, I need to preface that there is a lot of variation of Pad Thai, even in Thailand. But the basic, original, classic Pad Thai to me is slightly sweet, with hints of tamarind and fish sauce. Ingredients include rice noodles, shallots, garlic, dried baby shrimps, tofu, eggs, bean sprouts, chili flakes, and peanuts. Lime is served with it on the side and applied yourself. And of course, the dish is completed with your choice of protein. Now onto the dish, the pad thai came somewhat deconstructed, so you have to mix all the ingredients yourself. I actually prefer this as you can see all the work they put into it. The portion seemed small based on the container it was put it, but turned out to be a good size portion for me. The flavors of the pad thai surprised me and taste buds were firing on all cylinders! Well balanced, the noodle wasn't too wet, the bean sprouts nice and crunchy, and the peanuts not stale! They did provide lemon instead of lime, which I didn't use because it totally changes the flavor, but even without it, it was very impressive. 4,5 stars. Note: Classic Pad Thai is not "orange" in color. If it's orange in color, look for shrimp tomalley as an ingredient. If it's not there, chances are they're using ketchup or paprika to give it color, and sadly, this gives Pad Thai a bad name... Tom Yum Soup (aka Thai Hot and Sour Soup). Tom Yum is a simple, but flavorful, soup made with fresh lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, fish sauce, chiles, and a protein, usually shrimp (Tom Yum Goong). Again, as with all foods, there are always variations based on locality. Here they added cilantro, but it worked for me. The soup was bold and perky and it gave a nice subtle pop of spice at the end, very nice... 4,5 stars. Chicken Curry. Thai curry is best known as Panang (red curry), but there is also a Green Curry, and a Yellow Curry (Indian Curry). The curries vary in flavor and intensity. Here I wasn't able to discern the differences for some reason. It lacked the strong distinct flavors of yellow curry, and the color was neither red nor green. Green curry is a milder curry, and this definitely didn't have the subtle flavours. So my conclusion is that it's a tamed version of the red curry (I asked for medium spice). There was definitely some heat coming off it and the dish contained all the right ingredients; Bamboo Shoots, Basil, Kaffir Lime leaves, onions, peppers, garlic, and coconut milk. I'm a fan... 4,5 stars. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised at Phuket Thai, their signage indicates that it's authentic Thai food, and I agree! Add their $5 all-day Pad Thai deal on Tuesday's and it's definitely a winner in my books. A solid 4,5 star performer on all dishes I've tried this visit, It's the best I've had so far, thus earning the "As Good As it Gets" designation from me along with 5 stars! my 19th such designation for restaurants, congratulations Phuket Thai! Prior to it becoming Phuket I wasn't a fan of this restaurant (not sure if they switched owners or cooks but definitely an improvement). My go to Thai was another place however since my hubby and son like it I figured I'd try it again and glad I did. Their pad Thai is very good. We recently had a misunderstanding regarding our order and it was handled exceptionally well. The reason I gave it four out of five stars is because of the Tom yum soup.
