Met some friends here during the holiday break. The interior is nicely decorated and the menu seems to combine American-style options with a more traditional Thai experience. We started with Old Fashioneds, which were very good, although it did take a while for our drinks to arrive. Our server was friendly and attentive, but they were clearly very busy, and there was a wait by the time we were leaving. For appetizers, we ordered both the Devil Goons--seafood rangoons made with Sriracha and ghost chili peppers--and the regular rangoons. The Devil Goons were excellent; I had never had spicy rangoons before, and it was a great twist. The regular rangoons, however, were just okay in comparison. I ordered the red curry and thought it was just alright. I asked for medium spice, which was tolerable, but it lacked the rich coconut milk and curry flavors I'm used to from other places. My friends ordered fried rice, and their portions were noticeably larger than mine. For a similar price point, the portion sizes felt inconsistent. That said, they really enjoyed the fried rice. Overall, it's a cool spot to check out and clearly very popular. If I return, I'd skip the red curry. I'd also recommend making a reservation if you're planning ahead. read more

Khom Fai doesn't look like much on the outside but it is not your average strip mall restaurant. The interior is more elevated, classy and cool, a great place for a date night or celebration. The food and service were spot on. The drunken noodles were very good, but compared to the Red Curry, we didn't think it was anything special. The Red Curry stole the show. Got it with mild (default) spice. It is incredibly flavorful. It is creamy, aromatic, savory with a hint of sweetness and spice! Each spoonful makes you wanting more! This was a disappointing experience. I greatly enjoyed the food and service during my previous visit so I decided to try their express lunch which is only available on Tuesdays 11am-2pm. I was excited to try their express lunch however the food was very salty. All I tasted was soy sauce. The chicken was stringy, dry, and way overcooked swimming in salty, soy based sauce. The Pad Thai was also salty, no other flavor with mound of chopped peanuts. Not sure if they had a different chef or perhaps it was lunch so they didn't care about taste and quality of food. It was a far cry from my previous experience here. Staff were nice and prompt, also nice ambiance however quality of food was definitely poor and lacking.. Not sure if I would come back here. This place was surprisingly great! It's a bit hidden in a strip mall but definitely worth stopping by. They have a very nice bar and overall atmosphere. Their cocktails and wine list were also impressive. We highly recommend the appetizer sampler because everything we had on that plate was fantastic. I got the orange chicken and they were able to put the sauce on the side for me (bc I can be picky). They gave me so much chicken that it gave me 2.5 meals! Khom fai is a MUST TRY! There are so many different options of food and also many spice levels. The spice levels from least spicy to most spicy goes from no spice medium spicy Ty medium and Ty hot. The service is GREAT and is SUPER nice. My favorite staff member is Mrs Alexis. She is super nice and me and my 7 year old brother Noah love her. The vibe is also great. They always decorate for the season and the place is also very calm and you should make a reservation because they always have people there. That's how good it is. Been here many times! Love this little local place : ) we usually make reservations as at dinner time, it gets very busy and it's a smaller place. Food has all always been delicious and they have a great drink selection. If you're a whisky person, they even have Makers Mark and Basil Hayden flights, which is unique! We always order the spring rolls for an appetizer and I could eat a plate for my meal they are so good ! Staff is always great and owner will sometimes walk the room and chat. Service was great. I did takeout but liked the interior of the restaurant. I ordered fried tofu which was really tasty, I liked the sauce it came with. I also ordered broccoli noodles with tofu. The flavor was great, but the noodles were awful. They were rubbery and it's obvious they were not made fresh as was expected with Thai food (I'm from the west coast where Thai food is everywhere). If you like fresh noodles I wouldn't recommend ordering, I'd go for a rice dish if I came back as I said the flavor was there. read more

By no means is anything outright bad, it's just very far from good. The service was friendly and relatively fast. The ambiance certainly was different than how it was represented in all of the photos. It is in a strip mall and lacks the full sophistication of the stand alone restaurant. The noise was incredibly loud with the open ceilings. The service was friendly and pretty quick and the food seemed fresh. We had the salmon dish (can't recall the name) and the vegan lettuce wraps. The presentation of the lettuce wraps was underwhelming but the taste was amazing. Overall good restaurant. But certainly not worth the drive if it's more than 25 minutes from you, I would believe you could find just as good closer to where you are located. read more

My favorite Thai restaurant. The culinary enthusiasm and knowledge of Thai spice and authentic cultural cuisine shows up in Every. Single. Dish. There are two types of hot spice, what's considered "normal" spice (mild, medium, hot, extra hot) and then Thai spice, which is deeper, fuller, and ordered the same way. After hearing so many people rave about the vegan options at Khom Fai over the years, I finally had the chance to try it. I ordered the vegan pad Thai with mild spice and a spring roll. The spring roll was excellent and even stayed crisp after the 30 minute drive home after picking up take out. The vegan pad Thai was fine but it left a bit to be desired, especially for the price. I found I didn't go back for my leftovers, which is unusual for me. Since I did take out, I can't speak to the service but it was easy to order online and the host that handed over my order was friendly. Inside is small but seems like an elevate Thai restaurant dining experience with mood lighting and higher end finishes. While I wouldn't go out of my way to try more vegan menu options here, it's not a bad option if you're in the area. I wouldn't choose this place over my local Thai restaurant though because the taste and quality is comparable. read more

There were so many delicious options on the menu, I wanted everything. We had reservations and we only had to wait about three minutes for them to clear up a table for us. They were out of the whiskey sour so I had a Pineapple Express; it was very sweet. We got sticky wings and Brussels as starters. The sticky wings were excellent, full of flavor. The brussells were not crispy, they were almost mushy. They had good flavor though but just an unappetizing mouthfeel. I got the drunken noodles with chicken. It was a delicious meal, and I would order it again next time. Service was all over the place. For a long time we couldn't find out server, and then the apps and main dish were all brought to the table within five minutes of each other. I've been to Khom Fai twice now and have ordered dinners through DoorDash on several occasions. The restaurant is nestled into a little shopping center with plenty of parking. The first time I tried this spot was an amazing experience. We were greeted by our hostess and promptly seated. We were greeted by our server shortly after and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to provide us with recommendations that would elevate our dining experience by pairing our meals with signature cocktails. We ordered our cocktails and shortly after our server returned with our drinks she took our food order. I, in true form have favorites when it comes to Thai food. I saw that they had a traditional fried rice with your choice of protein and also saw that they had other dishes with basil incorporated in them on the menu. I asked our server if the Chef could make me a basil fried rice, medium spice with chicken and without question she said they would accommodate my request. After we ordered we took in the ambiance and were astounded by the beautiful bar area and decor. The server brought our food to our table and the presentation was beautiful. The smell of sautéed green onions and spices permeated throughout the air. The flavors were absolutely amazing. As we conversed and enjoyed our meal, the Chef and Owner Isaiah stopped by our table, introduced himself and asked us about our dining experience. He was very friendly and let us know if there was anything else that we needed, to let him know. Before he left, he filled us in on a little secret that intrigued us and I will not spoil it, you'll just have to try this spot out. I have traveled the world and been to over 70 countries and have never experienced a place like this. I'd recommend this place to anyone that is interested in top notch Thai food, an awesome atmosphere and amazing cocktails.
