I had 12 sessions with Dr. Gold over the past couple of months for a hip injury that came on suddenly. I'm 62 and never had any pain in that region until this year. After a brief consultation with Dr. Gold, I was on to my therapy. It will help if you focus on technique and perform the exercises according to his instructions. For example, if he tells you to ice the regions several times daily, do it. If you don't, then don't expect to get the full benefit of the sessions. Dr. Gold is very straightforward in how he addresses your condition and what you need to do to see improvement. He's not going to sugarcoat anything. Bottom line, if you're looking for a PT who's going to get right down to the problem, I would highly recommend him. You won't get a participation trophy. But what you'll get are results. The physical therapist who is on call was the rudest human I have met in a while. He may be a good physical therapist, but he was rude. Very disappointed. Front desk lady was rude could not find my appointment. The PT did. I have hand pain, had trouble filing out forms they seemed not to care and laughed. They came across like they didn't want me there. I was kind to them. They suggested twice to come back when I can fill out form. I have severe carpel tunnel but front lady refused to assist me. I did my best. There's a dog there which I find to be inappropriate in a medical setting. PT was not welcoming, doesn't know how to treat new patients kindly. I ended up leaving I didn't feel comfortable. My asst pays co pays for me due to my hands but she hadn't replied yet and PT said it's 320 at that point I came to terms I'm not welcome here. They need to be more helpful and kind to people. Location is extremely tiny no privacy whatsoever. I just hope the below average of unkindness I received was not based on prejudice. I did 8 sessions to help recovery in my left wrist / hand for Tendonitis. Dr. Gold and Crystal worked with my schedule to get me times that I could make. The treatment helped in my recovery. My wrist and hand feel much better after doing the 8 sessions. The appointments took 45 minutes per visit after the initial diagnoses interview. I found free parking in the neighborhoods around the corner north of Wilshire. Be sure to mute your phone and set it on vibrate before your appointment. I can't speak to the doctors, only the absolute cretin who answers the phones. The single rudest, most inept individual I've ever dealt with in the medical industry (and I deal with a lot). Immediately had a smug, rude, and condescending tone. Stated it would "take some time" for me to get an appointment, because they need a new referral. Um, no, you don't. I have the authorization letter for my referral. It's good for almost three months from today. He condescendingly laughs and says it's March my referral was approved in December. So? The referral is good until the end of June. It's your job to keep it on file. Never had that issue anywhere else. Then tries to be a prick and say they called in December, yeah, I was out of town dealing with a family death, ***hole. Then when I got back to LA, my place of living was nearly burned down by the fires. Not that I need to explain any reason to you, since, again, my referral is good until almost July. Unreal. Yeah, listen to the bad reviews. The doctor is weird. He asked why I didn't have "normal" insurance. I did I just forgot my original card that day which is what I told him. I had to use my other form of insurance that's under my main insurance card. This guy seems to have the demeanor of someone who thinks they're better than everyone else. Like dude if you hate your job just change professions bc you sure as hell shouldn't work with people if you don't like them . They scheduled me for a Monday at 10:30am, I show up, the door is locked. I was 10min early so I decide to wait.... for an extra 10min... like a dumbass. While I waited I read Yelp reviews to make sure I wasn't being delusional. My gut was right. I go home & they text me telling me to confirm my appointment for Wednesday. I didn't answer because I decided I would find another place to go to. Today (which is 2 weeks later?) they sent me a text to confirm my appointment for 12pm, WTF? Ya'll didn't even call me beforehand to schedule anything?! Didn't even mention which day of the week. THEN, they had the nerve to blame me for THEIR incompetence lol How IRONIC . Doesn't feel good to have your time wasted, does it? They expect people to want to come to their company when they operate like this? If you have a weird gut feeling about a doctor listen to it.. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Gold, his staff and the physical therapy they provide! I've just finished a total of 16 sessions to recover from a low back injury that I'd been dealing with for 3 years. Dr. Gold was referred to me through my insurance and I'm so grateful for his expertise, his kindness and patience in helping me heal and get my back to feeling great again. The exercises, therapies and guidance from Dr.Gold are accurate and THEY WORK. YOU WILL feel better, you will improve and he knows his stuff. He's like a coach or personal trainer in the way that the goal is to get you better; he's not gonna be your best friend. He's not supposed to be. He's an expert at what he does and you will walk out from every session feeling better, every time. The people who left angry reviews are looking for someone to pamper them. This isn't a spa, it's physical therapy. The point is to get you in, get you better, and get you out. These same people who complain are upset they got told to take their obnoxious phone call on speaker phone out of the office (there's a big sign on the door and in the waiting room that let's them know that.) NOBODY wants to hear about your bad decisions again and again. I've seen people (normally VERY out of shape folks) who roll in the office slurping a soda or coffee and get upset when they're told to take it outside, nicely. Again, the complainers are the clueless wonders who don't know courtesy and are too busy catfishing someone on their phones to be aware of their surroundings. Dr. Gold and his assistant Crystal are fantastic, you will feel welcome and you will get better, I can't stress this enough. AFAB PEOPLE ESPECIALLY~~~please listen to these bad reviews!! this man is terribly invalidating and insecure. he asks you a question and talks over you and tells you your answer is wrong and you're blaming others for your pain. he told me hereditary issues are a myth and REFUSED to listen to my medical history. He did not ask for consent before touching me/getting close and he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He seated himself at eyes level with my waist and told me to turn around and bend over, effectively having me bend over with my backside inches from his face. He also told me to look up videos for stretches instead of showing me himself. From my personal experience this man baited me continuously and is craving conflict. I will GLADLY wait a few more weeks in pain for a new authorization than return to this doctor. STAY AWAY. read more

Had a great experience here. Really got the sense that Dr. Gold cared about my progress. Appointments were timely, facilities in good condition, and office staff was professional and courteous. The parking is a little annoying as they don't validate it, but there are numerous back streets with free street parking. The apartment complex next to it has Uovo, HiHo burger, and KazuNori which do validate parking so I'd get food from there after my session quite often. read more

Dr. Gold is a rude and angry man. He's got issues. He has no empathy and is not caring and he definitely dislikes those with lower end insurance. I took a day off work to go here and when I arrived, they said I was not scheduled until the following week. I know this is wrong since I took off from work based on what they told me and It was in my calendar for a week, and I confirmed it with Krystal. They scheduled me wrong and he didn't even try to admit it, apologize or make it right or do anything to fix the situation. He told me maybe I should go elsewhere! The gall of that piece of shit "doctor". He is not accommodating whatsoever, and didn't care that I rearranged my whole day for that appointment and that I was in pain and have been in pain for MONTHS! Joseph is a great physical therapist, BTW, shame he works for this uncaring loser. I now see why all his employees are always in a bad mood. This guy Gold is always in a bad mood. Avoid this place. Was very very pleased with this office. From the moment I spoke with Crystal (the receptionist), who was extremely kind and patient-friendly, to noticing the way the office was operating (no back-to-back patients, no waiting, no cell phone conversations), to working with Dr. Vadim Gold, the entire experience was great. Dr. Gold was very thorough; he was clear on his findings, and targeted the specific problem areas. And everyone who walked in and out of the office had something positive to say. I'm glad to see that many people seem satisfied with their services here. In my initial exam I seemed to meet a caring professional and was optimistic about getting started with some exercises. The first treatment started face down and I was given heat lamp therapy that was positioned improperly and barely felt warm. Then I got a massage from some machine that was just OK. And stim that was placed oddly close to my spine with only two pads. (I was coming for a low back injury.) The exercises didn't seem to add up to much and both visits I left in greater pain then before I came. The second time I was asked to do just two exercises- stationary bike and some upper body machine. I don't recall being asked how my back was doing on either return visit so I have to find someplace else. I want to think that he means well, but I also can't see myself getting better here. The last place I was treated at gave me 4 times the amount of exercises to do plus deep tissue massage. Maybe I was spoiled. read more

I had a knee surgery back in March from a ski accident. I only starting coming to This office in June ....in a very short time maybe only 5 visits or so my knee has gotten so much stronger! I've been a patient for about three months now. After tearing my left ankle in October. My rehab is coming along fantastic. With the help of their entire staff. The main doctor, his manager and their assistant. The facility itself is always top notch. Always very clean and fully stocked with everything I need. After going twice a week for the past 3 months I've built a little bit of a friendship with the staff. And have noticed other patients have as well. For me it's always fantastic being comfortable with friendly staff workers wherever I may go. Both physical therapist really know their stuff. They take their time with me as well as take their time personalizing workouts to strengthen my injury and get better. They're also very flexible with me and my schedule. Which having a crazy schedule myself is also very helpful in handy. For any injury I think these guys would be fantastic. I've seen them deal and help many different people with many different injuries. I know if I ever had another injury myself I would return here with no doubt. read more

Wow! I just left his office and am relieved to discover here that it wasn't me (typical that I'd blame myself). I'm not surprised to read so many reviews about this cold doctor. First he reprimanded me for having my feet up in the waiting room. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and was in real pain, but he decided to judge and embarrass me, prior to meeting with him. Next, he decided to compare his having children to my rheumatoid arthritis and belittled the fact that I had four different joint issues at one time, and feel extraordinarily held back, currently. I was so disturbed, also, that he got up in the middle of my consultation with him and left the room, as well as the fact that during my consultation he left the door wide open for everyone to hear. It's a very small office, so small that there was a 65-year-old man that had to stand in the waiting room (prior to my feet going up ;) and there was a lineup outside the office during their lunch hour because there's nowhere to sit down and wait for them to re-open. Not a good experience, at all. This is the one time I can take a misogynistic situation and actually complain about it, publicly, without fear - because I ain't going back. read more

While I agree with some of the things mentioned here, "Danny" does seem to have a bedside manner that's a bit cold and distant for my taste. I might have been able to overlook that had his staff at least been a bit more warm and receptive. Most people needing physical therapy have already been injured, and so a softer, kinder touch seems more appropriate. Here was my experience: I was told to lie face-down. There were electrodes placed on my back for a while. After that someone came in, said nothing, placed a towel over my lower back and rolled some machine over it - all without any explanation whatsoever. It felt violating. The person was very rough, the energy behind which felt as if they didn't give a rats tooshie about me or what they were doing. Worst of all, they rolled that thing over the wrong area! And then I was instructed to do exercises much like what I already do in yoga and Pilates. And I was told to do them while still lying on the massage table, What the???!!! All of the above mentioned led me to the decision to discontinue treatment with Gold Wellness and return to my primary care physician for a referral for a second opinion. read more

I don't like to write negative reviews but I find it to be necessary on this occasion. I was seen by my primary care doctor regarding chronic pain I have in my left shoulder area from a bike accident. I was accepted for a consultation and was sent to Gold Wellness. I made my appointment and was able to be seen the following week. I arrive the day of to my appointment, there is a man behind the counter. He is the doctor, and the receptionist. I find this to be odd but I don't give it another thought. I wait for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile he is juggling patients and reception area, going back and forth. I have never seen anything like this before at a doctors office. Its finally my turn, I head to the back and he asks me a few questions and I explain my injury to him. One thing that bothered me was he did not even feel the need to touch my collar bone or back to see if he could locate or identify the problem area. We end the appointment with him accepting me for 8 sessions. He says he will submit paperwork. I feel happy about this. But then... I wait 2 months and nothing. I call his office, no answer, I leave a V/m. Nothing... I call my health plan, there is nothing they can do. I call my primary care doctor, they attempt to call him and finally he returns the call and says he had not submitted paperwork. He said he would submit it then. Ok fine, I am aggitated by understanding. Two months again go by and nothing, I call his office and the receptionist looks into my file and says that the doctor has still not submitted my paperwork. I tell him to shred the paperwork and that I will not be coming in. How are these kind of people certified. HOWWWWWWWWW!! F$*# this guy!! read more

This was by FAR the worst physical therapy place I've ever been to in my life. Keep in mind I've been to about 6 therapists besides this guy. Ok here is my story. I am healthy and young, other than the fact that I am 4 months post-op for ACL reconstruction. I was cleared to run about a month beforehand by my prior physical therapist but, due to insurance changes, I was forced to go to a new place. 1. First visit The therapist looks at my brace, tells me to stand up and squeeze my quads. He tells me my VMO is deficient on my reconstructed knee, and that we will focus on that before I start running again. End of visit. 2. Second visit Biked 20 minutes, walked backwards on a treadmill at 0.3 mph for 10 minutes, and did some squats on a Pilates reformer. End of appointment. No guidance, nothing. He didn't even give me ice! (Not like I needed it, but still). I was in shock and I asked him "that's it"? And he told me he needed to "see how I recovered from the exercises today" and told me to schedule a new appointment. I could have done all that myself without a PT as a guide. Also, with how far along I am in my recovery, I should be doing MUCH more dynamic and challenging exercises. I was so angry and frustrated that I couldn't hold back getting visibly upset. I even called 3 of my old PT's and my cousin who is a PT, and they all agreed that I should seek another therapist. The therapist works WITHOUT physical therapy aids, treating 3-4 patients at a time BY HIMSELF. This place- and therapist!- are totally inappropriate to support the patients they see. If I hadn't been to so many other physical therapists, I wouldn't know better. But due to my experience and family I've had in PT, DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY. IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY. In the end, I asked for a new referral, and now am at a better place with a better therapist. SO happy I left this place! Also for those who care, parking here is a massive pain in the butt, if that alone deters you from here. read more

Danny Gold was the first Physical Therapist that really helped me reduce my pain and achieve better movements with my wrist and elbow . I went to a few P.T before , to help my Tendinitis in my right arm and it didn't improve. Dr Gold was really pleasant and was extremely professional and caring!!! He was the first Dr to use the tens unit on my wrist and reduce the bad stiffness i had. The exercises he gave me to do at home helped a lot to get a full range of motion to my arm back! I would totally recommend Dr Gold over and over again , with out him i wouldn't know how to treat the pain , or that there is a way to live with out constant pain all day long . read more

Danny Gold runs a no-frills but professional office. He helped my shoulder's stressed and inflamed ligament. I wish my insurance provider allowed me more appointments with him than it did. Because he keeps his office basic, he can accept more insurance policies. As the two other Yelp reviews suggest, Danny is a bit gruff, not very talkative and really busy. If he does not explain why he is recommending a treatment or exercise, you'll have to ask him if you want to know. His office is pleasant and central to LA. read more

I definitely recommend. I really only have good things to say. Krystal is very professional, keeps up with follow ups, and does a great job of holding the place together. My experience wit Dr. Gold was brief, but also rewarding, and I left my consultation with valuable information. I think that the person whom patients work with the most is JJ (the physical therapist assistant). He does his job the best he can, and is friendly about it. Just follow his instructions really. Also, he's open to comments, so there's no reason to worry about mentioning or commenting about a specific exercise etc. The ability of the office to work together as one entity, as well as the staff to be a balance of welcoming and professional makes all the difference to the patients going here. Danny Gold has horrible bedside manner... I took my daughter there through a referral from her ortho for PT for her knee and the first consultation he said..."what brings you here?" When I told him then he said "what do you expect to get out of PT" I told him for her to get better and he said, "yeah well I don't think it will help much... I don't know why her ortho referred you here but we can try" then he put a tens unit on her knee and infra red light and as he is doing this he fails to explain anything that he is doing to me, or my daughter. My phone rang while I was in the treatment room and he looked at me and said very sternly... No cell phones. If he would have been more friendly, explained the procedures, or more optimistic I would have given him 3 stars but I can't recommend him. read more

I was hoping to get some relief of my bulging cervical discs and tennis elbows but the therapist gave me very general exercise routines that didn't help or address my needs. In fact, the UBE machine he got me on to treat my tennis elbows made my neck pain worse. I expect Physical Therapists to know the very basic exercises to avoid when treating patients and he knew very little about cervical disc problem of my kind and made very little effort to focus on the particularity of my issue. read more
