My husband had open heart surgery 3/2026. We would not go back to this hospital. If we were to do it all again, we would go somewhere else. I was suspicious from the start and did not have a good feeling about the whole set up and told him to get an outside 2nd and 3rd opinion from reputable cardiovascular institutions such as Mayo and Cleveland. Husband had a great feeling and went in believed the doctors/salesmen, I won't name names, said that he would only require a laparoscopic procedure to fix his mitral valve prolapse. I said no, don't do it. Once they get you on the operating table they will open you up and cut through your sternum. He believed the doctor who told him that more than likely it would be laparoscopy. Sure enough, after 4 hours waiting during surgery, I called to find out what was happening. They said they had to open him up. I felt sick. I knew this was going to happen. The doctor also said that he would be healed in 6 -12 weeks. No, not true. He still has zero energy and his heart rate is 100bpm and bp is 110/40. Prior to surgery his heart rate was 70 bpm and 130/80. His heart was stronger before surgery. I think they messed up big time, but our insurance paid. Husband is slowly convalescing like a 90 year old, can't have sex, can't work, can't play golf, can't go anywhere. I am happy he is alive, but they almost killed him. It's like this operation aged him by 2 decades. He is upset with Physicians Regional and does not trust him. The doctors who made themselves readily available to him before the surgery now he can't get an appointment All his follow up appointments are with nurses and he is upset that he can't get in to see his cardiologist. I told him it's because they are too busy doing surgery, making money for the hospital, even though they sure were nice and accommodating to him prior to surgery. I don't think this facility is very advanced compared to some of the top heart hospitals in the nation. We can easily afford to go to the best place on earth and he regrets trusting them. We would never go back to this place. All the reviews about lack of communication we experienced too. The building itself is extremely well maintained and beautiful, but the communication and organizational protocol is not good. There were some wonderful ICU nurses, but the overall organization of the facility I do not trust. read more

STAY AWAY. Arrived at hospital by ambulance with a diagnosis of severe anemia and a hemoglobin count of 6.9 which is dangerously low. Sat on er bed (stretcher) for 15 hours. They kept promising a hospital room with a real bed but it didn't happen.Toward the end they said they wanted to do a procedure but could not promise when it would happen given that it was now a Saturday. In fact, they couldn't promise if it would happen until Monday. In the meantime, they now admitted that the hospital was jam packed and they could no longer promise a hospital room. They were asking me to wait in this little room without a bed until perhaps Monday. When I said I was leaving. they said I couldn't because I had been admitted to the hospital even though I was still in the ER. I knew my rights and insisted I was leaving since they had no rooms. I was told I would have to sign and AMA which I happily signed and departed. This was an experience I will never forget nor will I forgive the hospital for its incompetence and dishonesty. I was transported to Physicians Regional - Pine Ridge on 1/22 after an automobile accident. EMS was amazing. Hospital staff was not interested in care for the most part, but mostly going through the motions. I had heaviest damage to knees and upper body. CT scan of head, neck and chest. X-rays of hips and knees. I needed to go to the bathroom and was given a walker asked about a wheelchair or assistance and was told nurse had to watch another patient. Kicker - was also discharged in ER with a walker and had to walk through the ER and hallways to get to the admission side where I was to meet my ride outside. Yes, I asked that they wheel me out and was told they no longer do that. You heard right - issues were knees and upper body (chest diagnosis of brunt force trauma - so imagine the pain in my chest cause by pushing any weight down on my arms due to hands holding and pushing the walker with knee pain. To add insult to injury, I have called and called and left messages trying to get copies of my records, without any response. The person answering the phone is curt and the records phone rings and rings, then cuts you off, and then call back until finally able to leave a message because no one answers. They have a MyHealth portal that you can sign up for, BUT it does not have Physicians Regional listed as a choice and you cannot move forward without the right hospital. What has happened to this hospital??? Years ago my gram was there and we thought they were great. Never again. EMS transport can be further and I will ask that the please TAKE ME TO NCH! read more

This place should be shut down. My father would still be alive if it weren't for the negligence of the staff, who waited 10 hours to bring him into surgery on a holiday weekend. I've never had an experience like this at a hospital. There was: Poor communication Delay of life saving surgery due to weekend and holiday understaffing Lack of basic care- oxygen or pain relief/ pain control and vitals monitoring Unmonitored low blood pressure Ignored signs of tamponade/ shock Missed critical window for surgery--10 hour delay after identifying a life-threatening condition Casual doctor attitude and rushed, late surgery My father was denied urgent care for over 10 hours despite being diagnosed with pericardial effusion and dangerously low blood pressure. His condition was allowed to deteriorate, and surgery was delayed past a survivable window. I believe that the hospital willfully ignored a life threatening condition. My father's health was poorly handled and he was neglected for significant hours- time that could have saved his life. I believe that they waited on purpose because it was a holiday weekend. My dad was suffering and they let his health decline to the point that there was no way he could have ever survived a surgery with his blood pressure at 50/70 as the day progressed. If they had brought him into surgery at the appropriate time his body could have made it through. His blood pressure was not monitored properly for surgery in addition to overall, a mishandling of health. Negligence on the part of the hospital caused my father to die and he didn't even make it into the surgery that he waited ten hours for. It was too late by time the surgeons got there, 10 hours later. Do not bring your loved ones here. I could not even see his medical records afterward to try and see how everything unfolded. This place is disgusting and dangerous. read more

Completely incompetent staff. They do have some good doctors, but the staff is poorly trained, apathetic, and genuinely lacking common sense for business practices that should match patients with health services. If I could give them ZERO stars, I'd gladly do that. I had to change flights to come sooner just to be told that the MD I was supposed to see is not seeing patients on that day; and his staff explained that the phones were 'down' so they couldn't notify me, although they know how to use the portal :/ This is an experience that has progressively gone from bad to worse. read more

They scheduled me for hernia surgery a full month from now as doctor is going on vacation. I asked them to reach out for any cancellations so I can get this over with. They called me and left a call-back number that does not even work. Upon trying to reach them on the general number, calls go directly into a phone tree. Once you figure out how to get a live operator, after you enter all your information, and decide if you want English or Spanish, etc etc etc [insert rolling eyes here], you then get rude operators who hang up on you, and don't care about what you're going through. My primary doctor chose this place, because he's affiliated with them. I am no longe pursuing this, will go a different route. These people are disgusting, good riddance! read more

In February of 2025 I admitted myself into the ER. While I was in the ER, I was DRUGGED UNCONSCIOUS FOR OVER 12 HOURS by an unnamed young male nurse. I was 100% conscious/aware and I did not provide consent, nor was a I violent. I submitted a complaint to the Patient Advocate, Brenda, where I was later told the nursed would receive education... To my understanding, a nurse is not allowed to sedate a patient without the doctor's approval or the patient's consent. So either this ER nurse illegally drugged me without approval from the ER doctor, or the ER doctor signed off on sedating me for NO valid reason. I've heard many other stories from Physicians Regional Pine Ridge that the ER nurses feel they have the power to sedate patients for their convenience in admitting patients. Long story short, I think it's utterly disgusting that this hospital allows its nurses to sedate patients without consent or cause, without punishment. It makes me wonder what other drugs are given without consent or permission. Be careful at Physicians Regional. read more

Worse than possible. My friend died in ICU. Pathetic limited care. Very few nurses. Never saw a doc but I was not there ALL the time. In one day. OK. 2 days later they told her she was done. No testing for alternative treatment (antibiotics). No aggressive plan to do anything. She had emphysema yes but treatment was done on day 1. They could care less and I hope they all go to hell. read more

There was a few disappointing situations with my recent stay at the hospital but overall the best facility that has ever taken care of me. The minute I walked into the emergency rooms front desk I was greeted and treated with kindness. The nurse whom initially brought me into the room was not very pleasant, I felt like a number not a patient. The rest of the staff in the emergency room was top notch. Very knowledgeable, very kind and eager to help. I was then admitted into the hospital for a 5 day stay. The doctors incredible, the food was good, the attention to detail was phenomenal, the nurses where so kind and ready to help at the drop of a dime. I guess my only dissatisfaction was that there is a clear difference between day shift and night shit. Not all night shift was bad , all but 2 employees should consider another line of work. Not meaning they dont know what they are doing but definitely are not very kind and when you ask for help they treat you like your bothering them. Besides that words couldn't describe how pleased I am with my stay and the quality of care that was given to me. read more

I took a family member there this morning, March 13th. The young girl at the desk with long black hair could not be any rider.. People were coming in and she continuously snapped at them. My wife had major surgery yesterday at Physicians Regional Hospital and had to wait 6 hours in a hallway before finally getting into a room. It seems like the hospital is overbooking surgeries and procedures without caring about how to care for patients afterward. After finally getting into a room the nursing staff seems to be stretched to the max ad more! My wife is having to wait a long time for basic nursing services. So far, so good. The Pine Ridge hospital location appears to be much newer than the Collier location. Like night and day. Everyone is super friendly here. They have ER & Valet parking. There is a hotel on Pine Ridge nearby & restaurants. I will update more in future. read more

Loved our doctor. Facilities were clean and pretty This is a FOR profit hospital Need more signs, went up to 4th floor only to find there are 2 separate 4th floor buildings There is no security, walk in and out any door, any time day or night, no ID needed, what? First floor staff are professional Surgery staff are amazing and caring as you would expect Overnight nurses are nice but too few and non responsive to needs Hubby used the call button 3 times, lucky to even reach it, couldn't talk when they asked over the speaker so they ignored him? Didn't check on him All nurses on the in patient 4th floor where we were did not communicate, educate patients. Felt like we were on a conveyor belt, they could use more help and better attitudes. We left early because we nick named one "Nazi Nurse". Just gave orders without explanations of why and what They rushed us out. In need of beds, we felt pushed out, exit papers were read quickly with no time for questions. No directions on post op diet, healing time, just get in the wheel chair and to your car Sad, great potential. Relative worked there for 1 1/2 years in the office. Everything was fine (good evaluations, etc) until they hired a new manager (supervised office staff). He started on her daily with harassment, watching "breathing down her neck", etc. She did NOTHING WRONG. After awhile, she went to HR as this was making her ill. Was told to accept this and "try to get along with manager. No other options given. Others in the office felt the same way, but afraid to complain because they may lose their job. Relative quit job and got another. Florida law does not protect this kind of toxic behavior from management. You have NO recourse." Checked with employment attorney and this is what it is. read more

Please do your research, this place will come up as one of the very worst in the entire country. Of 3685 hospitals rated it's one of just 87 that gets one star. That's not good. Check out the record fines they paid to Medicare for wrongful billing and readmission. This is serious business, it could be one's life! read more

Im sorry I just have to rant... my husband went to Physicians Regional on Pine Ridge today and let me just say there's a reason why they have horrible reviews and the nurse that was wheeling him smh... Long story short he couldn't breathe his legs were locking he was dry heaving feeling like he was going to fall out and the lovely nurse told him to Sit the F up like 3 times as he is telling her all this and the last time was "Your a grown ass man sit tf up and lift your head up" This makes my blood boil because I wish I was there Let me just say w.e problems you have at home and are dealing with please don't let that shift your character at your work place, Nurses It is your job to help people be caring and compassionate people come to you for help ! read more

Update: The Friday after I was discharged (4 days later) I received a phone call from the hospital at 4:45 pm. It was a billing agent telling me that they had a "special offer" where if I gave them a credit card number on the phone immediately I'd get a 20% discount off what they insisted I would owe (my total out of pocket responsibility). When I asked to see an itemized bill I was told "ok the 20% is off the table." This hospital had someone call me to try and scare me into making a payment over the phone with no information. I eventually received an itemized bill with a grand total of over $100,000. After making it clear I was not interested in their scam I heard nothing from the hospital. Now, 3 months later, I see they billed my insurance and my total out of pocket responsibility is $0. They tried to scare me into paying them $1000 when I owed nothing. I'm sure a ton of people have fallen victim to this scam. read more

Awful customer service at the radiology desk. The phone answering scheduling assistants refuse to walk over to the pile faxs to dig a fax for a CT Scan out of the pile. Very rude and exceptionally lazy clock watcher, says I should just wait ... Better off going to real hospitals in Westin FL (Cleveland Clinic) -- or just about any other facility outside Naples. I am new to the area and made an appointment to see a primary care physician in the Pine Ridge office. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment, which was instructed. When the lady at the front desk got there after 7 am, she called me up to check in. She asked if I had pre-registered. I told her I had, but I was unable to take a picture of my insurance card on my computer. She then so rudely told me that every other patient can do it and that I was holding up the line. I asked for my insurance card and walked out. I have never ever been to a doctor's office and been treated so poorly. The man behind me came up to the counter and she was rude to him as well. My husband is trying to get VA benefits and they requested records. Physicians claim no such request. Well they asked NCH and a surgical center and they sent them in. This surgery was his prostate and very important to his claim. No help from the woman I talked to. If they don't send them he won't be considered. read more

I visited the Physicians Regional Medical Center ER on 12/28/2023 because I had pain which did not allow sleep. Spoke with my Dr who said go to an ER for a ultra-sound of gall bladder and appendix. Entered an exam room and was attacked by the EKG person and an IV person. I said I don't need an EKG because I've had one each year for the past 3 years. The tech said, "We need our own". No coddling or reasoning here as I did not think I needed an IV for an ultra sound. I was there, drove myself, looked fine, was fine except for pain on low right side. Later I received more of the same treatment when asking an attendant if I could take aspirin or Tylenol for my pain; absolutely no answer. I received a Covid test, urine test and 2 blood tests. 3 hours later I finally received my 10 minute ultra-sound. However not before numerous folks tried to talk me into a CT scan. In fact I could have had that sooner. At this point I knew I would get a pitch for some procedure when they cam back with results, I removed my useless IV and unhooked the blood pressure monitor and discharged myself. Myself or my primary Dr still have no results. I did confirm results would be sent to my primary. read more

Where do I start? I will start with the good. I was admitted in the ER by Dr. Sayeed he was absolutely amazing. He listened cared was gentle and kind then went upstairs to my floor. I cannot say enough about Dr. Michael Helton what a kind soul. He really really cares about his patience these two should be awarded for their work because I have found they are hard to come by. I would give ten stars to my social worker Suzzane. She was a blessing in my life that I will never forget. A true angel OK now the bad I was in the hospital a week earlier was pushed out and told to take a oral antibiotic. I kept saying that anabiotic does not work on me. He would not listen to me and sent me home that would be Dr Antonio Diazzarra. So I go back to the hospital a week later was admitted by the physicians I spoke about earlier in this post. I was septic with a deadly disease how they knew this because I tested positive when I was in the hospital this last time I never got a phone call nothing I would not even know if I did not come back to the hospital so ill, I talked Dr Diazizarra and he made up excuses why I was not called. Now coming home on my discharge instructions my diagnosis which I'm sure he added was psychosomatic disorder because he does not want to look at his part if we are going to be throwing around mental health issues. I believe this gentleman is a narcissist and could not handle being called out and the truth. He thinks he is better than others because he's a doctor. If anything I have PTSD from dealing with people like you. Please keep an eye on your loved ones and make sure they are getting the care they deserve at physicians regional Pine Ridge Hospital. I will be posting this and sharing this everywhere. I can. last but not least please please please do a better job at cleaning this hospital unfortunately I have been here many times and have seen it all!!!! read more

So from our experience this hospital was amazing. My mother in law was dying of COPD and she had fallen out of bed and broke ribs. She needed so much care and we knew our time with her was limited. The staff was kind, patient but we also were grounded in reality about the situation. It's a hospital and the nurses are caring for numerous patients but we never felt neglected. All the staff were competent, kind and did a great job and she was hospitalized for three weeks, so we would have seen issues if there were any. Dr was matter a fact with me about her prognosis but I was in denial and probably needed a dose of reality.In the end, he was right. read more
