The risotto was so soft and creamy! The pizza had a very thin, delicious crust and the toppings were great, I loved the little zap of salt the olive gave. The waiter was friendly and charming. Overall this place is delicious and the appearance of the restaurant really takes you to Italy. I have 4 stars because unfortunately its a bit more expensive than what I would've expected!

We have had Piazzi on our list of places to try for many months and finally following a photo shoot in the area we finally crossed their threshold for our first dinning experience and Jenn ensured it was a 5 star raving review. Upon our arrival we were shown to a option of tables as it was just 4pm. While reviewing the menu we asked for water to start and once Jenn came over to meet and greet we discussed food options across the menu as we were sort of all over the place with ideas. Once speaking with Jenn we landed on what turned out to be an exceptional food experience starting with the zuppa di cozza, the mussels were terrific and their sauce had nice flavor with a kick. We took home the left over sauce as it was that good and it will get used this week. Next we shared the Capricciosa pizza, note, I'm not a huge pizza eater any more, has to be specialty, and something really workth while and this checked that box for me. So fresh, so flavorful.... took 2 slices home as we had one more dish coming... we shared their papppardelle. What blew us away was the finely shopped ingredients, hence nearly every forkful had a delicate mix of meat and vegatables. The pasta was on the al dante side which I like but my wife prefers more cooked, not droopy, not soggy. Regardless she loved the dish. See our dish photos. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful dinner! Started with fennel salad and meatball appetizer. Husband had pepperoni pizza and I had the papparadelle with short ribs excellent! We had wine from a local vineyard Beneduce a bottle of red called shotgun. Very good and ended with a lemon sorbet. Every thing was delicious. Highly recommend. Also recommend the vineyard which is nearby. Grazie Rosella!!

When it's the only game in town, you gotta play. Well, we didn't really have to but we did. Started off good because they fit us in without a reservation on a Saturday at peak dinner service. Like another Yelper said, they pack so many tables in there that I'm hitting people's backs with my size 18 butt & knocking over people's little lampshades with my gut. The tables were so close together you could hear who was on a first date and what that husband & wife were arguing about. Anyway, because there's so many tables the small space gets loud. Irrationally loud. Our waiter comes & tells us they use flour imported from Italy and their pasta is made on premises. Sounds impressive right? We weren't impressed. My Pane was not a dipping-in-evoo type bread. It was hard & crispy. Crisp pizza crust is what it was. My meatballs were mid. Definitely not Razza's. My friend enjoyed her Margherita pie. But my other friend who got the rigatoni left hungry. That $22 portion was skimpy. Overall, just not a good experience and the food didn't make brownie points for it. The bathroom was nice though.

But before I go into the food, let me address something I've never seen before on a bill. I ordered a Bourbon mixed with Diet Coke and the $15 charge was broken into three separate charges: $12 for whiskey; $2.50 for "whiskey prep rocks" (adding ice?); and $1.50 for "whiskey prep mixed" (mixing it?). What???? The first proseco served to another diner was outright flat, it was replaced. Meal. I ordered veal scalloppine picata and the meat tasted nothing like veal as it was a tough chew. My wife had the shrimp with risotto and she said the shrimp was ok but risotto was flavorless. Indeed, it's the first time I ever saw almost all the risotto left on the plate. The chicken milanesa someone else ordered came out cold in the first round and properly replaced with a new serving however everyone else's meal had to wait so we could eat together. Our waitress was nice but not very experienced and perhaps a little flustered. Brought out the dinners but hadn't bussed the appetizer plates in advance, It's actually not her job so I think they just lack help. The clams and sausage appetizer was very good. Perhaps the place had a bad night, but frankly for $300 with tip for 4 people was simply not worth it. Glad we tried it but it will likely be a one and done for us.

I can see why this restaurant was chosen. We were a group of 10 people celebrating a Christmas Party. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The dining room itself was lovely. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations, a large Christmas Tree in the corner. They have a mantle over the fireplace that was lit up and decorated with Christmas lights. What made this room extra special was the gigantic fireplace that had a roaring fire going as we sat and enjoyed our food and each other's company. The setting was traditional and on each wall were framed pictures. I kind of felt like I was in a Southern home. In a separate room was a nice size bar with flatscreen TV's. We started off with cocktails and appetizers. The dishes that were chosen: MUSSELS ALA VINO- I got them in a marinara sauce with garlic crostini for dipping. The mussels were delicious. CALAMARI FRUTTI- fried calamari with capers, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, and caramelized onions. Along with TRADITIONAL FRIED CALAMARI-with MARINARA. Both Calamari' dishes were delicious. MOZZARELLA EN CAROZZA- Served with marinara sauce. These were crunchy and the middle oozed with fresh melted mozzarella. LITTLE NECK CLAMS AND SAUSAGE- Lemon, garlic, herbs, crostini. These clams were sweet and smokey from the sausage. WINGS- (Medium Heat) the wings were crispy and flavorful. For my entree I chose their Special. STUFFED FLOUNDER WITH CRABMEAT-It was light and tasty. It also came with a vegetable risotto, which was really delicious. Other dishes that were chosen were PORK OSSO BUCCO-Vegetable risotto, and pan gravy POLLO PARMIGIANA-Boneless breast of chicken breaded with marinara and melted mozzarella POLLO MILANESE-Boneless breast of chicken pan-fried topped with arugula, onions, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette SALMON-Pan-roasted salmon with pesto sauce, seasonal vegetable saute, roasted potatoes GAMBERI SCAMPI-Jumbo shrimp, lemon, garlic, herbs, over spaghetti PENNE VODKA-Peas, prosciutto, a touch of cream, tomato, and a splash of vodka. We then went on to desserts. TIRAMISU, LEMON SORBET, TARTUFO, ICE CREAM SUNDAE, RED VELVET CAKE. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and their desserts. It was a very relaxing and peaceful evening. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. Even the owner came over and checked on us. I would definitely return and try some other dishes.

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

For this visit, we decided to check out Dolce on Main Street in historic Flemington. The restaurant is in a great spot right in the heart of town. I tried the pear salad which came with walnuts and gorgonzola cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette. Both were a good start to the meal. For the main course, my wife ordered the flounder francaise. It was prepared in a lemon chardonnay sauce with capers and artichokes, which she really enjoyed. I decided to go with the scallop and shrimp special which was pan seared and served with sliced asparagus risotto in a saffron chardonnay lemon sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly and very fresh. We'll definitely be returning in the future to try some of their other traditional Italian favorites.

Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.

It allowed us to observe that the staff was hustling, but not so much that they didn't make time for the customers. Once we were seated, the server, who was on her first day and handling her new job quite well, read us the specials. Although they sounded delicious, we had our hearts set on pizza. Along with our fresh garden salads, we got some fresh, warm bread. After we tasted that, the owner, Vito, came over and introduced himself and asked me, "How do you know if an Italian restaurant is any good?" I said, "The place is full." He said, "You are right, but it's really the bread." I thought about it and agreed. We had a laugh about him clocking us as new patrons and he said that after 40 years, he knows his customers. We got our pizza with sausage and black olives. We didn't ask for any special cook or seasoning adjustments. It was hot, naturally, with a perfect balance of cheese and sauce. The crust was crisp, with no tip sag and had a hint of saltiness at the bone. (I hope you understand the concept of pizza bones). While we ate, I saw the plated food leaving the kitchen. Vito must have seen me drooling or something and had me try a meatball. If you've read my other reviews, you'd know that I'm on a hunt. The delicious meatball was texture and consistency-wise very close to my Mom's, although with a touch less garlic, as my Mom basically had us sweating the stuff. We determined that we would have to eat pizza there as takeout wouldnt be an option because we live to far away. I promised Vito that we would be back for some fork food soon. Hopefully we save room for dessert next time.
