Chicken parm

The portions were ridiculous for the price. The chicken parm had zero flavor, sauce on the side, and served with French fries!!!! Wife's pasta dish was good, but again, portion was very small. Owner came to our table when he learned of our disappointment. He took the parm off the menu and comped the entire table dessert. Service was great. I'd give them a while to iron out the kinks

Chicken Parmigiana

Our first night here and it's was Fantastic, we both ordered Chicken Parmigiana, we received garlic bread with a hummus dip that was delicious. The service and attentiveness were great, also everyone was so pleasant and friendly which made for a comfortable atmosphere. It's a byob so we were able to bring our favorite wine and then were served our chicken parm that was so delicious and would definitely recommend it. All in all we had a great time and will definitely eat here on our next visit to Lamberville!!

We had reservations. I recommend it. We enjoyed the garlic bean dip with artisanal bread. Delicious. We split a beet salad and mushroom pasta. FANTASTIC! Scrumptious! The stuff dreams are made of. I enjoyed the painting of the lady on the lawn mower with pups frolicking. Gigantic and whimsical. I loved my time here.

Came back here after a year as I was invited by my friends who own a business in New Hope. This experience was better although there are still some things I had mentioned and there were similarities in this experience and was mentioned by Erin in her review about 7 months ago. Pros: Great location, excellent food, BYOB, nice decor and mostly friendly staff. Cons: Limited menu choices, the menu was hand written although was hard to read. From what I can see and reading another review after mine that mentions the owner being too interested in turning tables over still exists. I can't understand why the waitress refused to take our order unless we gave them the starters and the dinner together?? We shared a few starters which was the heirloom salad with mozzarella, and the meatballs. For mains we had the the salmon, chicken parmigiana, the NY strip steak, the pasta special, linguini Fra Diavolo and the ravioli. For desert we shared the banana ice cream, the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse. All in all I would still recommend them and feel the pros out way the cons. Hopefully the owner will take note of customer feedback and be a little more forgiving and not be so interested in turning tables,

Brownie with Ice Cream

Great looking place with a cozy warm feel to it. The staff were all very friendly and the menu looked as though it was handwritten and then copied. A Bean Spread along with some bread was brought to the table as we waited for our appetizer. It was very good. There were 3 of us and we shared the delicious and tender Grilled Octopus with Fingerling Potatoes, Olives and Lemon. A great start. The "winner"of the night was the Prosciutto Fresh Pasta with thicker than usual slices of prosciutto with house made pasta, asparagus, mushrooms and roasted garlic - amazing! The Seafood Linguini contained a delicious assortment of Shrimp, Scallops, Mussels and Clams in a red sauce. We had to ask for additional bread to soak up the sauce. The unusual sounding Grilled Swordfish with Mint Sauce was a little on the disappointing side, with, for me, the sauce overwhelming the taste of the fish. Good but ... We shared the Chocolate Brownie with a Carmel Sauce and scoop of Ice Cream. Again, delicious. Before tip, the bill per person was around $45 - very reasonable for such a delicious meal. When making a reservation, you will be alerted to the fact that tips MUST be in cash. There is nowhere on the credit card receipt to add one. It's also a BYO. We definitely will be back

Food was good but for the price, VERY small portions, everyone on my party agreed, and we are all not big eaters.

We finally got around to trying Taverna 54. We called ahead to check on seating, and Maximo told us…read moreto come in. When we arrived, though, we were told there weren't any seats. After a few minutes, they said they could squeeze us in. It felt a bit odd -- the space isn't very large, so you'd expect the dining room to be easier to manage. We shared the burger and the carbonara. Both dishes were underwhelming, especially given the expectations we had for this spot. The burger was on the bland side, and the carbonara was made with store‑bought noodles, which took away from the dish. While the food missed the mark, the dining area itself is very nice and the service was great.

It's a place that feels special and welcoming, great for a night out with friends or a date. We started strong with the appetizers--the meatballs and burrata were excellent. Flavorful, well-prepared, and a great way to kick off the meal. Unfortunately, things took a nosedive when we got to the main course. My friend ordered the lasagna, and his verdict was harsh but honest: it reminded him of high school cafeteria food. I ordered the New York strip steak, and I can only describe it as awful--tough, flavorless, and poorly presented (photo attached if you're reading this somewhere that allows images). Thankfully, dessert helped redeem the experience. Everything we tried was delicious, beautifully done, and left a great final impression. Bottom line: Taverna 54 is worth visiting for its appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Skip the mains. With such a beautiful setting and solid service, it's a shame the entrees don't live up to the rest of the experience.

When you walk in there is sort of a vestibule before the dining room, but it felt as if we had actually come in by the wrong door -- I'm still not sure. Either the front door is well hidden or the entrance is not very welcoming, and there was no one there to greet us. Once seated, however, the atmosphere was charming. We had some light trouble communicating with the staff. It wasn't at all clear who the three different people who visited our table were. The youngest one, in particular, spoke so fast and low that it was difficult to follow him, and even though the room was relatively quiet. The food made up for some of our difficulties. The cioppino, in particular, was excellent, even if it didn't contain exactly the items listed in the menu; it's the nature of the dish. Once we had our meals, everything was quite agreeable. The food was great; the rest of the experience kind of 'mid.' It seemed that if we were regulars, already acquainted with the idiosyncrasies of the place, we would have been more comfortable, but as first-timers it was all a bit discomfiting. I suppose would go back again, but it hasn't won it's way into a spot among my favorites.

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! If you are a bread lover just know they make their own bread in house. 5 stars always!

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.
