Private room used for banquets/showers. This was a family member's wedding shower dinner

My family and I have been coming here for over 25 years and remains one of our favorites. An Excellent Italian restaurant for all types of occasions-dining out for dinners, graduation celebrations, homecoming dinners, and wedding showers using their private banquet rooms. Service is always friendly, professional, and attentive to detail making sure your experience is enjoyable. Food is authentic and delicious without breaking your wallet. Entrees are served with complimentary bread, house salad, and side of pasta with marinara sauce. Most Italian places charge for an additional side salad and pasta with your entrees but not here. Portions are large and I almost always have leftovers for the lunch the next day. It's an old school authentic Italian restaurant and will always be one of my favorites because it brings back so many memories since I grew up coming here. Not too much as changed over the years even the menu remains almost identical.

Ordered pickup from grub hub and this was a complete disappointment. Upon pickup we were completely ignored as other patrons were greeted and walked past us. The seafood pasta had zero flavor - to the point where it seemed as if the water wasn't salted to boil the noodles. The Caesar dressing was completely inedible - tasted like nothing but mayonnaise with no additional flavor. The calamari was rubbery and doused in lemon. Finally, we ordered two entrees and only 1 salad was given. Giving 1 star because the salad itself was good despite the dressing.

No better place to celebrate my 80th birthday than here at Picano's. MY wife invited 80 friends and family members to the party in the Caesar Room. We started with the smallest banquet room and moved to the biggest. It was a full family-style meal with two meat choices, salad, pasta and dessert for all. Folks with certain food allergies were will served. Everybody enjoyed their meal and the fast service. Such a great waitstaff! This was the best party ever! Thank you!!!

Reliably good. Very authentic. Awesome tiramisu. A little dated in decor. Overall, one of the best Italian restaurants around.

Classic Italian. Good food and service but the place feels a bit dated. Could use a bit of upgrade

We did the Couple's Special, which is such a great value. You get your choice of an appetizer or two salads, followed by two pasta dishes (with meat available as an additional add-on), and then dessert to finish it off. Every course was delicious and perfectly prepared. From the service to the food to the dessert, the experience was top-notch. We'll definitely be back--just like always!

At $44 each for adults and a shockingly good deal of $14 per kid under 12 (we had two of them) it was a pricey dinner but we are still eating off it days later. We had the two salads. The Maggiano house salad was the better of the two. The Caesar was just ok. Then we had the calamari which was quite good with lemon juice just a little less so with their marinara. The tomato bruschetta was also good. Our lineup of 4 entrees included lasagna which was unremarkable and could have been hotter. We also had chicken piccatra which was perfect and among the best parts of the meal. The beef medallions with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and crispy onions was also a standout. The balsamic cream sauce on that was delicious. The rigatoni ala vodka was also well received by all. Finally, the dessert included lemon cookies (okay), tiramisu (good), chocolate cake (mixed reviews but I liked it), and cheesecake with sauce and strawberries (also quite good). My wife and I had a nice Riesling and Margarita respectively. Our service was very kind but the meal took a long time. I left painfully full with four bags of leftovers! I give it a 4.4 rounding down to 4 (sorry). It was a really good meal and we joked about making it a NY day tradition.

The atmosphere was elegant, and the service was impeccable. Our server could not have been more attentive -- I was pleasantly surprised by her fine dining skills, from the discreet use of a food sweeper to the prompt replacement of fresh table napkins. Each course, from appetizers to main entrées, kept getting better and better. I highly recommend the Branzino, the veal, and the filet -- all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Even the breadbasket was incredible! The service, once again, was top-notch, and I loved that the kitchen is visible from the hallway -- such a nice surprise that adds to the experience.

We ordered the Eggplant Fritti, Rigatoni Spicy Palomino, Dover Sole, Tomato Braised Meatballs, and Filetto (7 oz Creekstone USDA prime filet, black garlic peppercorn sauce, parmesan whipped potatoes, roasted mushrooms, swiss chard). We also were lucky to get the last two oysters of the night. They were super fresh and just the right start. We honestly loved every single dish. Our surprise favorite was the Eggplant Fritti. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it turned out to be incredibly flavorful and one of the best things on the table. If they have the Dover Sole special when you go, definitely get it. It was perfectly cooked, delicate yet rich. The Rigatoni Spicy Palomino was out of this world, and worth every single bite. Service is exceptional. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the night. We always love having Elena as our server! She's so sweet and attentive without being overbearing, and offers great recommendations when we want to try something new. This place never disappoints. Great food, amazing service, and cozy atmosphere. CasaPernoi is officially one of our new faves. Can't wait to be back!
