We were all allowed to pick from a regular menu, not a select few items. Food was not only was a good value for the money it was also served promptly. A hidden gem! We've driven past dozens of times, but never paid much attention. Recently, my parents mentioned they were going to dinner here, so we joined them. Very good for families, friendly staff, and enjoyable food. We love the ribs - the meat just falls off the bone. The sausage arrabiata was definitely my favorite - legit spice, enough that one of my kids wouldn't eat it. Dessert deserves a special mention. I don't like cheesecake, but my family enjoyed it - and, for $5 at a nice restaurant, it seems like an absolute bargain. I do like tiramisu, and this tiramisu (also a steal at $5) was excellent (note to self - ask to hold the chocolate drizzle, since it didn't ruin the tiramisu but did taste like Hershey's). We just got pizza for the first time on our last visit (in fact, we got a kids pizza and an adult), and were very pleased. We had a couple pieces leftover and, in a rush the next day, enjoyed them straight out of the fridge. The high quality crust really shone, since usually fridge pizza is somewhere between mediocre and gross. I liked the grilled salmon - slightly dry but with a very nice crust. The redskin potatoes were nicely done, as was the broccoli. We aren't connoisseurs of noodles plus red sauce, but the baked trio we got with manicotti, ravioli, and lasagna was very enjoyable. The kids' favorite thing was the couple braided loaves of bread that we got. They bake it in-house and is a super nice touch. The shrimp primavera came with zucchini noodles - thankfully there was enough butter that the dish didn't taste like a mushy pile of squash. I would get it again. This place is good. The waiter we had had way too many tables or just not that attentive. Had to flag him down for for refills multiple times. I was disappointed with the size of our two spaghetti with meat sauce. The one placed in front of my wife was correct and mine was 50% of hers in size. I think portion control needs to be managed. My waiter should have not brought out two identical meals that weren't even close to each other in size. My wife told me to request a new one, but by the time our waiter would be back in my mind it would be 10 minutes. Guess what, 10 minutes later I flagged him down for a drink refill. We dined at Italia Gardens last night and had one of the worst meals ever. This place is nothing like the Flint establisment. . We ordered barbeque chicken and it was a pressed chicken paddy. I can make better pasta at home with a Pinterest recipe... they did mess up our pizza because we ordered pepperoni and ham and they brought pep and sausage.. the sauce on the spaghetti taste like Ragu and the pizza wasn't cooked enough... we will probably give it another try but it's definitely not the best Italian in the area by far. I posted this previous review as 3 stars because that was the truth... as far as an obnoxious customer it was me and my wife and we have a fine experience as far as other patrons are concerned. The food wasn't good and obviously the owner couldn't handle the honest review. Now I change it to 1 star because the owner obviously isn't very smart. I grew up going to the Flint location and was thrilled to see there was a location 10 minutes away from our new home! Their sweet sauce is my absolute favorite. I will say- the sweetness doesn't seem to be for everyone but I could eat. It. Every. Day! It's hard for me to review anything else since I get the same thing every time I go, but I will say their chicken dishes (I.e the chicken Marsala) it delicious too! Light breading and moist. I recently tried their pizza for the first time and it's so good! The service isn't always the greatest but they are always friendly and there never is a wait when we go. Their takeout is one of our go tos. We love this cosy, family oriented restaurant that's outside of the hectic downtown areas. read more

Dined in this evening and I had the baked trio (lasagna, manicotti, and meat ravioli) al forno and it was delish! OMG the cheese pull on the trio!! Yum! My boyfriend had the chicken Parmesan and the chicken was juicy and had the perfect amount of breading. For desert we shared the almond cake, which is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!! So fantastic! We've been here a few times since my initial 2014 review. I have nothing bad to say, but it still doesn't move up our list of favorites, somehow. The kids always like making their own pizzas (although daughter was a little bummed last night to be super careful getting her cheese to the edge, but then we given her brother's 'sloppy' pizza to eat - lol). I was also pleasantly surprised to get a free canoli last night for my Yelp check-in - yay!! The versatility of Italia Gardens is definitely one of its best qualities. You can dress it up if you'd like, or bring the kids. I've been to several fundraisers here - they're great supporters of the schools and teams in Oxford and Lake Orion! Had dinner here on Sunday late afternoon with the wife and another couple. First time trying Italia garden, so I went with the lasagna to "test" them. It was delicious! I saw on the menu that they use a sweet sauce, so I wasn't surprised. It was a bit sweet for my taste, but it sure beats the overly tart, under simmered sauce at many other local Italian places. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and had an appropriate amount of lovely, baked cheese on top. The bread was obviously freshly baked on premises. Crusty and a very nice chew. Salad had a nice house vinaigrette and fresh, crisp, lettuce, ripe grape tomatoes, red onion, black olives house made croutons and pepperoncini.Very well done, though an upgrade to a better olive would be nice. Companions had the ribs at our server's suggestion. She told us only her mothers ribs were better. My buddy loved them! I'll have to return to try them, as he wasn't sharingthe side of Mac and cheese has salami in it. It is on the menu, but he didn't see it, but loved that as well. This is why you want to eat at a local place over the big chains. Small details that you would miss otherwise! Great meal! I wanted to dislike our server. At first, she wasn't overly friendly or especially welcoming, but her menu knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail made great food even better! Well I ordered a carry out tonight for me and my wife and I got to tell you we both thought it was some of the best food we have ate in a long time! I had the Chicken Piccata and my wife had the Marsala. Both dishes were fantastic and the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce had great flavor!! Great waitstaff but our food was the opposite. Chicken tasted gummy and like cheap frozen chicken quickly heated up. Tomato sauce for the kids spaghetti tasted like ragu sauce. The bread was good and so was their side salad... cannolis weren't bad either. We liked that they offered a good deal on pasta every Wednesday too. This was our first time here and I'm not sure we will be going back though as the chicken tetrazzini made me sick the rest of the night. :( read more

Got carry out for a party and it was very good. Needs more seasoning so I would give it a 3.5 overall. The value though brought it to a 4 and so did the broccoli. That was the hit. We had the lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, Broasted chicken. All good and again a GREAT value. we used to get a giant pan of mostaccioli and bread once a week growing up and it was amazing. it had been about 4-5 years since i had went to italian gardens and a month ago we randomly decided to get it for dinner. and since then we loved it. we got bruschetta, sausage siciliano, and chicken parm. it all was so amazing, now we get it every week or two. highly recommend for good italian food. This is the best place to eat in Oxford. Everything at Italia Gardens is fresh and delicious. I had my graduation/ 19th birthday party here, which 20 people were able to attend and the people who worked there made everyone feel so welcomed. This is the best place to get pizza in my opinion! Great toppings and just a wonderful cheesy taste! I also enjoy the chicken noodle soup, this soup is the only soup I enjoy and want when I am under the weather.
