Funny how several other reviews begin with "Fred's was packed so we decided to try this place". Well, that's what happened to us tonight. Went by Fred's and it was full, so we went down the street and checked out the Piccadilly Circus. It was pretty empty. We walked in and took a seat, while the person behind the bar was conducting a trivia quiz game. She came over and asked if she could get us anything - yes, how about menus to start with! She went to get the menus and dropped them on the table then got back to the more important trivia game - belting out the questions to all 10 people playing. The music and TVs were off, so I am not sure why she had to yell. She did come back when we put our menus down in the universal signal that we were ready to order. She came back pretty quick with our beers, so kudos for that. The food seemed to take a while and when it arrived it was just hot - not really hot. I had the Cornish Pastie which was good. It wasn't really special, though. This place is supposed to be an English pub, and having been in a few real English pubs, I was having a hard time reconciling this place with an English Pub. It's a bar, that serves food, and some of it happens to be English pub grub, but the place really needs to make some changes if it wants to be known as an English Pub. The atmosphere was all wrong - from the trivia game, no TV or music, to the kind of music that was played after the game was over. Also the lights were really bright, and the place just seemed sterile. No character at all. It had the usual generic restaurant tables, 1 booth, some UK and other football team scarves. This place could be a pub with a small bit of redecorating and maybe turn down the bright lights just a bit. You would think the owners would wonder why Fred's, which is only a few doors down the street, is PACKED and the Piccadilly Circus is not. I kept thinking the Gordon Ramsey should visit here and get the place turned around. read more

There is trivia here at 7:30 on Tuesday nights even though the website said 7. They do trivia with paper and pen and the questions involved movies and politics mostly. The winner gets a $25 gift certificate for the place which can be used that night. read more

The place was busy today, probably due to Euro 2012; there were a lot of teenage kids in soccer jerseys with their parents. I ordered the beef and kidney pie; it was definitely out of a box, and there was no kidney that I could taste. However, they do have Strongbow on tap, so my advice is just to drink here. read more

Checked my I'd for over 5 minutes then checked it again. Over priced drinks that taste like there is no alcohol in them at all! Service sucked didn't even ask of I would like a drink. I had to track someone down. Awful bar. I won't be going there again. read more

If you aren't a regular don't even bother. The bartender will not serve you, and if you happen to get lucky and get a drink after 15 minutes of standing at the bar and waiting, you won't be so lucky the next time. Worst service and attitude from a bartender I have ever seen. read more

Best place in snohomish for a drink

Met some friends on a Saturday night for karaoke. Dead when we walked in but the bartender assured us it would soon fill up and she was right. Appreciated knowing when that happened the kitchen would shut down and all drinks had to be ordered at the bar otherwise we would have been hungry. Can't speak to quality of meals as we were mostly having appys which were as expected. Nothing stood out to me to bring me back but if I was in town on a Saturday night looking for something different I'd likely pop in for karaoke. Bartender was on it but I think having another bartender or food offerings post-9pm would help (unless there really isn't a market for that to make it worthwhile). I saw a few couples come in at different times then leave when not served (not knowing likely there wasn't going to be table service). Another couple close to me was told to order at the bar but it was pretty crowded and a long table makes bar access a challenge when busy so they ended up leaving after a handful of songs. read more

We stop in about once a week. The service is good. The beer is always cold. Barmaids are friendly. They do not serve too much fancy food, but what they have is good. Prices are about average for the area. read more

My friend and i came in after shopping and had a wonderful meal, I had a New York steak which was very good done med rare just as i ordered .my friend had a Cornish pasty which she really enjoyed,and we finished up with the best Bread and Butter pudding I've ever tasted. They have a great selection of beers and the service was very good,I hope to come back soon and do trivia which i think is on Tuesdays. read more

Piccadilly Circus has yet to disappoint. I always find the staff to be friendly and the atmosphere to be laid back. We always go as a group and have a great time. They have a great selection of beer on tap and are very prompt with their service at the bar. I highly recommend their fish and chips; cooked traditional English style. They keep solid hours as well. I thoroughly enjoy talking with the owner too; he is a straight shooter and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty waiting tables and tending bar. Overall, my friends and family have always enjoyed ourselves and will continue to offer our patronage to this fine establishment. read more

It was a Sunday afternoon in Snohomish and we two out-of-towners accosted a couple of guys and asked, "Where can we get some good eats?". They said, "We're going to Fred's Alehouse." That sounded good to us, so we followed them there. As we passed Piccadilly Circus, one remarked, "I've passed by here many times, but it's always empty, so I never went in." That's the nub of it. Business is slow because people avoid an empty restaurant. At Fred's, the place was packed and three parties were waiting to be seated. The two guys slipped by them to try and find a place at the bar. I turned to my companion and asked, "Do you want to wait for this?" She shook her head and said, "No way!" We strode out quickly, mainly to get distance ourselves as soon as possible from the noise of kids squalling and an NFL game blaring from a couple of smallish TVs. There was the fetid smell of too many bodies in a small space mixed with an abundance of deep-fried food. In short, it resembled a Saturday night in a Chili's or a Denny's in mid-America. Without hesitation or conferral, we marched back a half block to Piccadilly Circus. There were two other parties in the place, quietly eating and drinking and occasionally glancing at the gigantic TV (80"?) over the bar airing the same NFL game as the other place. (The volume was low, just enough to understand what was being said if you care, but easy enough to ignore if you didn't.) The owner, a native of Manchester, greeted us promptly, handed us menus and took our drink order. He returned quickly with our drinks and took the food order. As she sipped her iced tea and I waited for the head on the properly-poured glass of Guinness stout to die down, we chatted and relaxed in the pleasantly air-conditioned room. It was a nice, quiet bar. We were grateful to have this pleasant respite. The food was fine, exactly the kind of thing one might expect from an English guy. I ordered the little steak from the chalkboard, which was quite nice, medium-rare and as tender as can be expected for $10.95. (I've paid $15-$18 for steaks at chain restaurants that weren't any better.) I felt good with a steak, mash and some peas and carrots under my belt. Washing it down with a fine brew completely satisfied me. The tap handles showed some interesting choices, many of which were local micro-brews. My companion liked her spinach and cheese pie (known as spanakopitta in Greece). The fare was not terribly interesting, but it was what we needed right then, and it was well-prepared and served in a timely manner. We had not gone there to be dazzled or entertained, just to be fed and have a quiet drink in a pleasant atmosphere. If I want hoopla (which I rarely do) I'll go somewhere else. If I lived in Snohomish, this might end up being my habitual haunt, you know, my pub! read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for the Rivertown Alehouse and ended up entering this place instead. The decor is a mix of soccer pride and Christmas past. There were signs every where not to do this or that. The tv was on golf and turned up. Wasn't what I was looking for in my bar atmosphere. Sure have the TV on, I mean it is a soccer bar (English?), but keep the volume down or off with a little music playing in the background. As we had already walked in we decided to have a drink and an appetizer. We ordered draft beers, nothing fancy. Came out fast as there was only a hand full of people in there. The bartender was very lively and friendly. We got the sampler and it was your typical fried bar food. All and all I'd say this is a great neighborhood bar if you want to make it your regular spot for a drink. If you're looking for good food at reasonable prices and a great atmosphere hit up the ale house across the street. read more

this place was horrible. If you are a young kid barely 21, you will only be serviced. came in on friday around 9, nearly all tables were not bussed. Waited 20 minutes to wait for table before we lost our patience and pulled 2 tables together. Took another 20 minutes before someone recognized we were human. Ordered food and took an hour, of which was burnt and horrible. Strongly suggest if you are not under 25 and a regular drunk, find another establishment read more

Horrible idea to come here but Fred's was packed and it was close. There's a reason it was empty. The bartender was okay, didn't make drinks very well but nice enough. Very very uninterested in actually being a bartender though. They were putting together stools while we were there and the smoking literally outside the door was awful. It was more of a disgusting friends house than a bar you'd want to have a drink at. Definitely don't waste your money or time. Go somewhere else for sure. read more

Wish we read reviews before we ate. Husband got the shepherds pie (more potato, instant too, with very little meat) and I got the fish & chips (1 thin piece way over cooked). As I am English I thought it would be fun to take my wife to a little home country cooking. I had been in once before for a pint but had never sat down and had a meal. As it was a nice day so we sat outside with a pint and ordered our lunch. We started out with the special of the day which were crab cakes and I have to say they were the best we have every had. Lot's of crab, perfectly cooked and the sauce was fantastic. So much so my wife requested another order we could take home with us. She had the Shepard's Pie which was not quite as good as my mum's (never could be) but was still fantastic and about as close to what I would call the real thing. I had the fish and chip's which were also great. Not too much batter and not overcooked. Service was great although our server did seem a bit overworked but overall it have to say it was a great experience and we will not hesitate to stop by the next time we are Snohomish. read more

Stopped by this quaint little bistro an early evening dinner. I was ravenous and decide to order the large cut of filet mignon. I talked to the sommelier and he recommended a 1974 Lafite Rothschild . It had notes of elderberry and pine. It was exquisite. When my fillet arrived , I was taken aback its presentation. The marbling on this Meat alerted me to the explosion that was about to take place inside my mouth. My waiter/server/bartender/owner managed to keep me entertained throughout my dining experience. I wasn't a fan of his German Shepherd sitting under my table waiting for morsels to fall off my plate. But the owners stories about getting oral back in the 80's kept me on the edge of my seat. I'll be going back just for that. I was disappointed that they use Hunts ketchup instead of Heinz.( Kind of cheap). Also watch out for their seafood Fridays, they were serving Krab cakes. read more

Beautiful day in Snohomish and we were pleasantly surprised to see Piccadilly open for lunch as "Melinda's Homemade Soups" everyday except Tuesday. We have been there before and it was nice however this last time, my boyfriend went in spent over 2 hours there, and was kicked out for playing a song ont he juitbox that the manager didnt like, so he kicked him out. I will NEVER go back there again and I will warn off all others. Unless you want to be disriminated against for the music you listen too then go ahead and go. But ill pass. read more

As good as it gets (in Snohomish) terrific local pub with excellent food and an eclectic mix of locals and tourists alike. From trivia night to Karaoke the entertainment is low key but interesting. The owner is there frequently and will b.s with you about everything from soccer to sociology. The food is awesome for a pub, prime steaks, club sandwich to fish and chips I haven't had a bad meal yet. To all the naysayers here, I say have you tried the food, been here more than once? Give it a try the food's better than Fred's. read more

The owner is batshit crazy. F-g lunatic. My friends and I were in town shopping for bridal dresses down the street and just decided to pop in after for lunch. The place was completely empty even though it was lunch time on a Saturday. One of the girls mentioned her reservations but we decided to give it a chance and stay. We each ordered a 15-17 dollar meal and I left briefly to grab a coffee across the street. I came back with said coffee to hang out with my friends as we waited for the food. The owner suddenly materialized and lost his shit, yelling, hollering, and belligerently barking at how I was not allowed in the establishment with $1.45 cup of coffee from across the street. Had he calmly stated that they would prefer that patrons do not bring in beverages from outside establishments, fine. However, he was yelling and displaying extreme aggression. He pointed at the ground outside as if I were an unwanted stray dog and demanded that I take my coffee outside in the rain. This behavior is awfully short sighted considering how our bill would have easily hit the $75 mark. Our entire table left immediately as that type of psychotic and disrespectful behavior is unacceptable. I won't bring race into this but it's looking suspicious. read more

I sure wish we had read the reviews here before deciding to try this place again. Years ago it was more of a tea party-type of place, with good tea and good food. Not anymore - nothing good about this place. We arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were promptly seated. Ok, good start. Went downhill from there. I ordered the "ploughmans lunch" which was supposed to be a salad, variety of cheeses, roll, and a pickle. Now, I don't claim to know what, exactly, a "Ploughman" does for a living, but after eating this so-called lunch, a ploughman would not have the strength to "plough" anything! Honestly, my two year old granddaughter could eat more than what was on the plate. There were about five big pieces of lettuce, a couple of shavings of carrot, and (I think) some small pieces of tomato. Next to this five-bite salad was a completely unidentifiable pile of vinegar-y purple stuff. Yuck - it was terrible. The cheeses were a few small pieces of store-bought cheese, one of which I actually had to spit out because it was so awful (I have never in my life spit out cheese!). And to add insult to injury, I received no roll and no pickle.....but was afraid to ask for them for fear of what they would taste like. My husband had a salad that was not much bigger than mine. The owner/bartender/waiter/whatever never once came to ask if everything was okay, did we need anything, etc. And the worst part of this was that this awful meal came to almost $20!! Say what?!? I wanted to demand my money back, but hubby bribed me with cupcakes from "Bite Me Cupcakes" (down the street) to not create a scene! It worked....I didn't say anything, but now I wish I had. I will NEVER go back there or recommend them to anyone. Frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves for serving such over-priced crap! When we got back to Everett we had to stop at the local taco truck (across from Value Village on Evergreen-highly recommended!) because we were still hungry after that pitiful excuse for a lunch!!! read more
