Pasta dishes have always been huge portions and delicious here--you can't go wrong! We usually get piccini every time we are in town and it's always good, although pricey (as all restaurants in OC are). I have to say that this week we were disappointed to see that no one was wearing a mask in the restaurant. Some kitchen staff had them but they were pulled down. The cashier didn't even have hers on at checkout. I believe the law is that everyone needs to have a mask and gloves and patrons of the restaurant can't enter without masks. Every other restaurant and even cvs was consistent with mask wearing these past two weeks. We felt a little uncomfortable at the "relaxed" regulations at this restaurant. If I need to wear a mask to enter, you should be wearing one while your handling my food, right? read more

Have been to the store many times in the past, My wife loves the Buffalo chicken pizza. Their product is good, but our last visit was very disappointing. For starters, we called in our order to be picked up so we used their website upon getting there my wife informed me that the girl at the cashier counter was bordering on rude, at the very least not very welcoming and upon reviewing our receipt we realized that the pizza prices had been raised about 3 dollars more on their med pies which were reflected on the written menus, but not on the website. Are you kidding me? Over $14 for a med pie. There are too many very good pizza joints between Galloway and Ocean City for us to get gauged on prices and deal with bad attitudes! Bye bye read more

Hands down the best Pizza in the Ocean City area. We ordered the cold antipasto to start, more than enough for two people. The margherita pie with fresh mozzarella had just the right balance of spices, tomotoes and cheese. Service was efficient. We will definitely be back. read more

Came down again for a Christmas Vacation and as we always do, stopped for some pizza. Even in December, the place had a good amount of customers. The food was AMAZING!!! There's nothing like good Italian food, and it's even better when you're down the shore and it includes fresh seafood. We stumbled upon Piccini tonight thanks to a recommendation from a friend and we were happy we did. They seated us quickly for a Saturday night and a party of 6, but we are still slightly off season so I'm sure when summer is in full bloom there will be a line. They are also cash only, so be aware. However, there is a Wawa right next door with an ATM. There was bread on the table when we sat down, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping; the only problem was they didn't give us any plates for the bread. The food came out pretty quickly. The Cesar salad was great. The croutons were like little crunchy garlic breads and they were delicious. I ordered the mussels Gorgonzola, which came over a bed of pasta. I love it. It was a huge portion of mussels and the sauce was tasty. I was worried the Gorgonzola would overpower the mussels but it was mild and paired very well. It was a very messy dish, but worth it. Some other dishes at the table that were a hit- the shrimp scampi, the pasta with pomodoro sauce, and the ravioli. It was slightly chaotic in the restaurant, with people coming in to pick up take out while the dining in customers have to walk up to the cash register to pay. Have been ordering from here for years and will never again after today. Called to place a large order and was put on hold multiple times, the girl taking the order was too busy talking to whoever was near her. Wanted a pasta dish that did not list any pasta choice on the website so asked if it was possible to get one type of pasta, was told "that's not possible" but named every other pasta available. Website also states that your choice of house or Caesar salad comes with pasta dishes- the girl was in a hurry to end our call so when I asked about the salad, I was told it was $1 extra. The customer service was not professional and the food isn't worth the hassle for as busy as they get. read more

Since you can't write a review from mobile, I had to go fire up my MacBook to write this bad review. Ordered a steak and a small pie at 5:49. Went there at 6:20, 30 mins after calling. Paid and then bugged them for my food. For 30 more minutes. Got my food at 6:46. The cheesesteak was cold and not edible. Total crap. Nothing worse than sitting there for 30 minutes with my kids like an idiot and then trying to eat a freezing cold steak. Won't be going back. Good luck with your take out order. I remember this place being better years ago. But that's how I feel about most places down the shore... Because the restaurant is essentially run by 16-20 year olds (like almost all places down the shore), things don't always get done timely or correctly. Which is understandable, to a degree. But 2 hour wait for take out? For average pizza? C'mon, there's gotta be a manager... or an adult in there right? I had high hopes considering that it was featured on the TV show Diners, Drive-In's and Dives. I should have ordered whatever Guy Fieri got but I was craving a chicken cheesesteak. I got it with the works and was blown away by how spicy it was. It was good but next time I'll order it sans peppers. The fries was the most disappointing part. I ordered Old Bay fries but only the top layer was seasoned. All the fries below the top were unseasoned and bland. My mom got a regular cheesesteak and was underwhelmed. Our first attempt at eating at Piccini was a bust. We went at 6:30 on a Saturday night. We had just arrived in town, and wanted a pizza to go. The vibe from the wait and counter staff was frantic. They were slammed and the entire staff (consisting predominantly of 20 17 year old girls) seemed frazzled and off their game. There was no rhyme or reason to how they were attending to their guests. No line, no number system, just a mass of people waiting for help, and the girls just randomly calling on folks in between answering the constantly ringing phone. No exaggeration it took them 20 minutes just to get to me to take my order. Once waited on, I was told the wait for a pizza for take out was 90 minutes. Needless to say we decided to try again during the week. Fast forward to Wednesday evening. This time we called ahead. We ordered 3 pasta platters, 2 pizzas and a salad. This time the wait was only 20 minutes. I drove over to pick the food up, and the vibe was exactly the same. A crew of teenage girls, who all seemed completely overwhelmed (and not particularly friendly) by the crowd. Except this time it wasn't THAT busy. I had ordered a little under $100 in food for 6 people, which is fairly reasonable, esp for beach prices. I asked the counter-girl who was 'helping' me, for some packets of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (we're vacationers away for the month, and don't have our own supply at home). She gave me 1 packet of each. I know its a minor detail, but it spoke to the amateur of the staff they have interacting with the public. I obviously had ordered food for a large family--any other Italian restaurant would have given me a garbage bag full of seasonings and cheese, if I even would have had to ask. The food--was good, not great. Decent wood oven stove pies. Nothing exceptional, but not bad. The pasta dishes were all good, but not great. In summary, Piccini could really stand to overhaul the girls they have representing their restaurant as the hostess, counter and wait staff (either that or get them some xanax, so they can handle the stress of the crowd better). This is obviously a place that is constantly busy--the girls should roll with it better, because their stress and lack of attn to their customers really colored both of my visits to Piccini, to the point that I probably will not return. After we decided to bail on our first visit, a woman on the street sent us to Mario's, 2 blocks away. Mario's was great pizza and great service. Check them out. read more

Not only was the service absolutely horrible from the moment we stepped in but in the middle of having dinner the restaurant is freezing , I ask if the door is open in the back next thing you hear a man in the back yelling "Who cares " after a waitress tells him that the customers were cold. Young rude HS vibe of employees constantly gossiping , I had to repeat my order several times , seems like this is all that min. wage gets them . Stopped in here for a quick bite and was blown away. Thought it was just going to be brick oven pizza and it actually was a full menu with a little bit of everything. In fact, we ended up sitting down to have a full meal. The food was cooked to perfection and very, very good. The services, however, was not very good. Hence the 3 stars. I understand what service is in a place like this, just a summer job to get by, maybe because there parents are making them, but it actually made me feel uncomfortable. Almost as if it was an inconvenience that I was there. The girl was miserable and just flat out served us because she had to, not because she wanted to. After quite a wait(they get busy) we were seated at the patio outside and when it started to rain they told us they were shutting down the patio and they made our order to go...they did not ask...we asked if we could be accommodated inside and they refused. The wait was out the door but for an Italian meal that needed up being almost $30 per person with tax and tip everything was just OK. Experience based on phone order for carryout. General comment: Despite telling the order-taker on the phone that we were staying in a hotel and would need utensils, cheese, napkins, etc., there was nothing in the carryout bag but our entrees. Not even a napkin. Really, this was a weeknight off-season -- that's the best you can pay attention? Order #1: penne and meatballs. The menu says the meatball ground sirloin is from Boyars. But there was NO seasoning. Two meatballs, lots of sauce, over a dish of pasta. Mediocre at best -- an amateur cook could do better at home. So why go out? Order #2: Chicken piccata. This was actually tasty, though the chicken was a little over-battered. And the mushrooms were not fresh. But there were big chunks of lump crabmeat and fresh asparagus over top, the sauce was good, and there was a LOT of food. If it weren't for this dish, it would have been one star. No side salads or bread come with the entrees. It's bare-bones, and high prices. Go with caution. read more

Have placed an order from this place 2 times over the phone. The staff is rude, the menu online is apparently incorrect, if you're going to have an incorrect menu online the least you can do is make the thing thats not on there, or apologize for it being up still. The workers answering the phone aren't even sure if you can add shrimp to dishes, twice they have had to ask around first. Incompetent and rude, hung up the phone without a goodbye. read more

Unfortunately, dinners can range from fabulous to bland depending on the cook. One time my dinner had lots of fresh vegetables and delicious red sauce and then a few days later my mom got the same dinner and it was nothing like it, very few veggies and bland sauce. Don't listen to Bob H. He probably gives chain restaurants that oversalt and use low quality ingredients with all you can eat breadsticks good reviews. My husband and I own restaurants in philly (he comes from a family of pizza shop owners) and this is hands down one, if not the best pizza we've ever had. Our pizza had artichokes, spinach and onion on it. Everything was so fresh, cooked perfectly and the crust was phenomenal. Service was polite and attentive. The place was clean and prices very fair. Why all the negative reviews? Piccini's food is great. I've only had pizza, but I'm sure everything else is pretty good too. We only get pizza here and at Prep's. They are the best pizza out there. In fact, I can eat an entire small pizza in one sitting, it's so delicious. And we order something from here every time we come down to the shore, in season or off season. Sooooo disappointed. Ate here a few years back on my brothers recommendation and was delighted. It's kind of out of the way so haven't been there for quite some time. Then last night my son is craving his favorite Chicken Parm, so we venture over to OC. I see the dish I had last time is now a Triple D favorite so I order that, my son his chicken parm. Some of the HUNKS of chicken on my dish were pink and flavorless, and there were virtually no sun dried tomatoes. The sauce was great but it was not as I remembered. Anytime we're in the vicinity of Ocean City... Cape May. Sea Isle, Atlantic City... We always make time for a detour to Piccini's. It's great in the off season because you don't have to battle the OC crowds. They make a great wood cooked pizza but the real treasure here is the red mussels. I'm somewhat of a Mussels and spagetti expert since I order it very often and make mussels or clams often at home. These are the best I've ever had and although I'm a big eater, there is almost always a doggy bag. The Ceasar salad is usually crisp, fresh and tasty. My wife likes the scallops. Waitress was a little ditsy and brought us the wrong food and couldn't figure out how to "split" our sandwich but it was THE BEST cheesesteak I have had in a long time! My first experience at Piccini was pretty good. I ordered the lasagna, and it was fairly good quality; not quite five star Italian restaurant quality but fairly good for a place that looks like a diner. I even ate my friend's left over chicken parmesan two days after dining at Piccini's, and it was still very good after two days. The portion size is fairly large, so maybe consider splitting your dish with someone or be ready to bring leftovers home. The decor is eh, and the building isn't too large which is mostly why I was surprised that it was very good. It's also cash only which is a slight inconvenience. Our family spends weekends/vacations in OCNJ, on and off-season. After trying food all around the island, Piccini's is the house favorite... though we always do take-out, not sure we've ever eaten-in. In a beach town where the food can be inconsistent from many restaurants, Piccini's provides consistently good food. We are especially fond of the pastas... their crabmeat pastas, our favorite, offer generous servings of crab. They are not the most inexpensive takeout in town, but they do have very good pastas/meat entrees, with options that go well beyond spaghetti and meatballs. Portions are generous, and the quality is consistent. My rating is essentially for the food... the service can be rocky. We pick up our orders, after having the bad experience of having them deliver the wrong food to our family. We also check our orders before leaving, they sometimes miss a beat (forgetting bread and salads, for example). Worth noting: Bread and salads (as of my review) are only $1 with entrees, but you have to ask for this (menu doesn't make it clear enough). read more

First time in Ocean City & we were looking for a place to eat dinner. My wife Googled nearby eateries & Piccini's got our attention. The location is great, but the food is NOT!!!...The staff is friendly, except our waitress ASS-U-MED that we've been there before, cause she came to take our order soon after we were seated, but we still had no menus. Ordered penne pasta w/ meatballs, my wife the same but with sausage, & a personal pizza for my son. BOTH pastas were TASTELESS!!! No amount of grated cheese could give this a tiny bit of taste (trust me, I tried!)!!! My son's pizza was the best meal on the table, but by NO MEANS was it great, it was ok.
