Our first night in OC so of course we ended up ordering from Kessel's Korner! A staple of my fiancé's family vacations and her nieces favorite restaurant. We placed a large order on Saturday night at 6:05pm for 8 people including Cheesesteaks, Burgers, Grilled Cheese, Buffalo Tenders, Fries, and Onion Rings. We were told 20 minutes so we arrived at 6:25 (ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes but that's okay! Our order was large and it was busy.). They added a large Connect 4 and Corn Hole boards outside for some entertainment while waiting for seats or to-go orders. I also love the Coca-Cola themed, diner style benches and bar stools they have outside. The girl working the pick-up window was very sweet with how she interacted with customers and made sure to ask if we needed napkins, condiments, etc. We got our food home and our entire order was correct. I got a Kessel's Special (Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onions - LOVED how thin the onions were sliced) and my fiancé got a small Chicken Cheesesteak with peppers, onions, & mushrooms. I really enjoyed the old fashioned style burger and the cheesesteaks looked great. I will say in a New Jersey shore town where you expect to pay inflated prices, I think Kessel's prices are extremely fair (I just paid 33% more for a comparable size & quality burger and fries back at home). My fiancé couldn't finish her entire small Chicken Cheesesteak and we also had leftover halves of cheesesteaks. Everyone enjoyed their meals as always. Kessel's never disappoints!

Another perfect lunch at Kessel's. All three ~8 inch sandwiches we had were excellent and just the right size for lunch. Service is always the absolute best here; that never fails to be the case.

Crispy Chicken Cesar Wrap. Pickles were very nice and fresh. 10/10

Great food. Quick service. Good hospitality. Annoying they only take cash but food makes up for it. Home feel in the restaurant.

Been coming to Kessel's for years when we come and visit family. The food never disappoints, the service is always spot on perfect and the SWEET TEA is beyond amazing! We always take some to go! We come during peak and off season, and the vibe is always the same with the owner always doing the cooking!

Adorable place and pretty good food, but I think people like the ambiance more than anything - red decor, cute staff uniforms, and old fashioned vibes. My roast beef (store made) was fabulous! Joey liked his chicken salad hoagie, but said it was a bit dry (not enough mayo only reason). My daughter didn't like her burger - said "meh." My son LOVED his buffalo chicken cheese steak! Cash only, but I knew prior. Good prices.

The red and white ice cream sundae I ordered.

Easy and convenient for locals. It's basically junk food for kids. Nothing to write home about.

Very good cheesesteak! It's been awhile and I'm a huge fan of Cooper Sharp cheese now. Portion was great and Mr. Patroni was very nice.

ChickenParm with Caramelized onions is the best sandwich I've had in a really long time. Best post beach dinner

Food was great, service was great, the atmosphere is charming but a limited menu and cash only with paper plates isn't always what you want.

Reasonable prices and basic, reliably good food in a homey no-frills soda shoppe atmosphere.

After missing out on a meal at another eatery in the area, I was able to almost completely recreate…read morethe meal and have a better experience. After making a once around in this area to see what they had to offer I came back to this establishment to dine for the evening. Upon entry I was greeted warmly and timely. I was immediately led to an actual table and had menu in hand. This was nice, just because I am dining alone doesn't mean I want to sit at a bar and feel separated from the rest of the building. I had some time to look over the menu before the server arrived. I made it simple for him as I already knew exactly what I wanted, from drink to appetizer to entree. I just stayed with water for the meal as I wasn't in the mood for anything sweet. For my appetizer I went with the Soft Pretzel and the entree was the Hangover. The Soft Pretzel is basically your jumbo pretzel. This comes served with honey mustard and cheese sauce for dipping. When this came out on the hook, it was piping hot and had the right amount of pretzel salt. This thing is massive and could easily serve as a meal for one. I picked at it until my burger came out. I also ended up taking a lot of this back to my room for snacking later in the evening. When my burger showed up I was not disappointed. As a side note, burgers are served with fries, but you can upgrade the side if you like. But at $3 for a small upgrade, no thank you, a different type of potato or a salad doesn't equal that much money. That is just my opinion. Off my soapbox now, let's discuss the burger. The Hangover is typically an 8 oz. patty freshly ground in house everyday. You can substitute for a turkey burger, black bean burger, or grilled chicken at no charge, but have to pay for a side upgrade...I digress. This particular burger is topped with an over easy egg, bacon and American cheese. More of a breakfast burger than a hangover cure to me. This thing was one of the best patty to bun ratio burgers I have ever had. I was pleasantly surprised that the patty actually looked a bit bigger than the bun. When you pop the yolk of the egg, that just adds a bit more flavor to the burger. Perfectly cooked to your liking, the bacon was crispy, they egg made it messy and the cheese held it all together. The fries were a perfect match to this, even though they make it seem like they are the basic side to this dish. If you are a yolk person, the fries are a great vessel to get any that may have dropped to the plate. I made sure to finish this and try to look like I wasn't shoving it my mouth at the same time. It was delicious. My server was excellent. Checked on me the appropriate amount of times. Was attentive to my needs and I didn't feel rushed in my dining experience. Much better than other places.
