    The wings!!
    Gerry L.

We had a get together with my cousin this past weekend and they ordered pizza from a pizza parlor located off Coral way and 23 avenue. Piccola Italia serves both pizza and chicken wings, we ordered two large pizzas and barbecue wings. The pizzas were delicious with fresh tasty toppings and perfectly crispy crust. The wings were good but it does not hold up to the pizzas.

    Giant fly on garlic bread
    Katie P.

Just got our food delivered and found a giant fly just sitting on our garlic foccacia bread. We've ordered from this place tons of times and we love the food, but this giant fly disgusted us so much that we couldn't eat the other items we ordered. We're so bummed because this was our favorite pizza joint in Coral Gables, but now I don't think we'll be able to eat there again. The giant fly is burned into my mind and forces me to question how sanitary/clean this restaurant is.

    Lasagna to go

This hole in the wall has a Jekyll and Hyde personality conflict of interest sensibility. Sure it has a local standing and following in the community, but there is much to be desired in its totality. Lasagna: 4 Stars - light, fluffy flavorful Chicken Parm Sandwich: 3 stars - chicken breaded and marinara sauce on Point but bun was not toasted or crunchy. And I think it was pan cubano - not a real Italian hoagie PIzza: 3 stars -- so so, did the job, but did not leave a significant impression to order again. Convenience Fee for Using a Credit Card and Not telling me - zero stars Trying to pay with cash but then them not having enough change to FORCE me to use a credit card - zero stars Customer Service - half a star. What an attitude! I may be back for the lasagna -- but I promise NOT to talk to anyone that works there and inconvenience them.

Receipt showing prices much different from those advertised online.

I like to think I'm a pretty fair reviewer/Yelper. I don't always leave negative reviews, but when I do I wait till I've exhausted all patience with an establishment before taking to the review board and letting the world know about my less than satisfactory experience. The Management of Piccola Italia worked extra hard to make sure my patience wore thin in just the few minutes I was on the phone with them regarding my lunch order just the other day. On April 29th, I ordered lunch for myself and two (2) others from Piccola Italia. Normally, the service is okay but the quality of the pasta is what has kept me a repeat customer. Due to COVID-19, I placed the order online for delivery. We selected three (3) pastas: Farfalle with crab and pink sauce ($11.50), Ravioli with shrimp and marinara sauce ($12.99), and a Fettuccine with chicken parm, marinara sauce and extra mozzarella cheese($11.49). We added a Tiramisu for dessert. Now, the first issue was when we received the charge to my credit card, it was more than what I had anticipated paying, based on the pricing above which is what is shown on the Piccola Italia Miami website. Please see the attached receipt received after the fact for reference to what was actually charged. The taxes, included the calculation of the delivery fee as well, which I don't believe is fair or ethical. When I called the restaurant to review the receipt (because the delivery didn't include it, shocker), the Restaurant Manager named ERIC, stated very condescendingly that the extra fees were due to the credit card company charging the customer directly and not the business. Then, when I brought up the price differences on the receipt versus what is still (even to this day) being advertised on the restaurant's website, ERIC stated even more unprofessionally that "the website doesn't get updated daily so I was charged correctly based on the updated price". I mentioned that this was false advertising and if he did not honor the prices shown on the website, I would report him to the BBB. He replied with a chuckle and a "do whatever you want" before he proceeded to hang up on me. If it wasn't for the quality of the food at Piccola Italia, I would have ended my patronage to this business a long time ago based on the lack of customer service received here. Restaurant Manager Eric needs a serious refresher on how to deliver customer service and manage a business that flourishes on the revenue it generates from the public. In current times when the whole world is facing a pandemic together, it's businesses like Piccola Italia that need the most help. Unfortunately, they will not be receiving my business again after this horrendous experience.

Piccola used to be farther down Coral Way around 17th ave. When they moved, we thought they had gone out of business and were super disappointed. Thankfully, they had just packed up down the street and were still close to home! We've been ordering from this pizza shop for years and our all-time favorites have always been their lasagna and pizza! If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by and do yourself a favor. You can order ahead and they'll have it ready for pickup or delivery. Have your face masks ready and follow all social distancing guidelines. Every time we've ordered throughout this quarantine (and there has been a whole lot of pizza) they've never disappointed.

I was pretty impressed with this place It's a really small joint with barely any space to sit But the food is great and it is made in a timely fashion The staff is friendly and the food is well priced I recommend the Italian sub and one of their pizzas

    Staple from Bolognese
    J.J. R.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza and spaghetti bolognese. The spaghetti bolognese was mediocre, bland, lukewarm and contained a staple that landed in my girlfriends gum as she was eating her meal. Pizza was decent. The reason for a 2 star. Will never eat here again.

One always think "if they have good ingredients they're going to be good" but apparently, Pane e Vino misses this notion: they have the best ingredients for sure but also the master hand of incredible chefs that make every dish unique. My mum had the Cannelloni di la Nonna, smooth, and delicious. My dad had the Maltagliatti, and he didn't talk after he finished. I was celebrating my birthday. And I asked for the Alla Ruotta, but with Pappardelle. Made Al dente, this pasta was smooth, with a a sauce that merged the best Italian tomatoes, and the best Parmigiano Reggiano. I added cheese on top of it, but that's because I'm an absolute fan. Then after they sang Happy Birthday to me - something I didn't ordered - they provided the table with THE ABSOLUTE BEST TIRAMISÙ I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY EXISTENCE. Don't ask the ingredients, enjoy. You're absolutely welcome. Creamy, soft, fresh, all done at the very moment. It makes you question why this restaurant doesn't have a Michelin star... While the concept is the classic "Italian Hole-in-the-wall" and the ambiance is quiet, ideal for a romantic date, with dim lighting and soft music, there's always an artist making pasta at the window, and there's always time for the chiacchiere with Angelo. His stories of life and recipes are great, but also some Juventus talk, and how football evolves... amazing... amazing. Amazing food. Amazing people. Grazie mile, Marco e Angelo! Divina cuccina, divina famiglia! Un grande abbraccio argentino.

This was short lived and after a little while we were invisible. Our server was nice enough but she was definitely not friendly, did not make any recommendations and barely smiled (not even at our 6 year old!). When she brought our dishes, she dropped off and literally ran away. We had to flag her down for parmesan and then didn't see her again throughout our whole meal until we asked the busboy (who we saw more than her) for dessert menus. No one bothered to clean our table full of crumbs in between. She did not ask us not once if we needed anything. However, she was quite able to chat and smile up a storm with a large party next to us who ordered tons of wine and food. This did not feel like fine dining The food was actually pretty good. It was nice that they allowed us to have Miami Spice entrees if we wanted to since they weren't on the menu. The Pear ravioli with goat cheese was delicious. My husband got the pasta with black squid and said it was ok... The pistacchio cake for dessert was just OK. And fyi they charge $10 to park in their lot, Might as well park in the street. I really I really wanted to like it but the service left a bad taste in my mouth sadly.

After 1hr 15' (we stayed outside waiting, no drinks), we checked in and the hostess rudely told us that she can't foresee when people will leave. So we took our $350 check to Hillstones, where they value regulars. We have dined at Luca before and love their food, but seems like success has gotten to the hostess' heads. Restaurants, especially in Miami, succeed and survive from the loyal locals, not from tourists nor fads. Seems that Luca has forgotten that. We're happy to take our business elsewhere, even a chain restaurant who values repeat customers.
