About a year ago, I discovered this pizzeria because of great Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. I'm a big fan of Neapolitan pizzas, and while their pizzas aren't 100% Neapolitan, they're super tasty. This place has become my favorite spot for pizza. The prices are reasonable, it's close to my house, and the pizza's flavor is fresh with amazing dough. I've gone many times over the past year. The place is nice, typical for a Doral shopping center, with a relaxed vibe. The ingredients are top-quality, always phenomenal. My favorite pizza is the Queen Margarita--simple but spectacular with great dough, tasty sauce, and divine cheese. I also love their calzone, both baked and fried, and other pizzas like the diavolina and píccola, which are delicious too. They offer two types of pizza: classic and "alla pala." I recommend the classic round one; the rectangular "alla pala" is bigger but the dough isn't as good. The only downside is the service from the waitresses. They've been inattentive and sometimes rude, which has been a bad experience multiple times. The guys, like the pizzaiolo and other staff, are polite, but the waitresses need improvement. It's the only thing holding this place back from five stars--I'd give it four. If the management worked on the service, I'd go even more often, maybe multiple times a week, because the food is that good.

Ordered to go and it was pretty quick. I got the Cotto pizza. It's a nice thin wood fired crust. Good balance of flavors. 10/10

We came in for lunch and were the second occupied table. 1 cook and 2 servers but everything took forever. Need a drink, go look for the server, napkins, box, check- all required me to get up and go get the server who was super busy on her phone. Pizza was good

Visited last night w bff and her hubby because she had been there a few days before and had found the pizza was good. I tried the Mortadella & Burrata pizza; to say I was disappointed is the understatement of the year. It's a white pizza, so it's understood it's sans tomato sauce, but the mozzarella cheese was like biting into a rubbery disc and the burrata (a small meatball size cut into 4 wedges placed in the center) was very inconsequential as well - no creaminess. Adding the balsamic vinegar defaulted on the table was of no use as it, itself, wasn't a high grade item. The pizza ingredients do feel like they are high quality, they just don't materialize well. The only saving grace in this pizza was the mortadella, which offered a hint of flavor, but I still had to put TONS of salt to make it edible. My friends ordered a 'pala' size of their Piccola pizza, and this too was very bland, except that in this case, the tomato sauce helped significantly - still, it was mild flavored at best and they ordered it with extra mozzarella. I ate most of my pizza because I was starving. To my friends, their pizza tasted great until I reminded them that in order to eat it they poured 100 VERY SPICY RED FLAKES and tons of other red spicy sauce - they are very accustomed to eating everything very spicy, which to me is a copout for when you are not used to good flavor and need to use picante as a crutch to get through your foods - they place huge amounts of heat on everything. The pizza crust was fine, neither here neither there. I told the waiter about my flavorless pizza and he apologized, but that's as far as that went. For dessert I tried their pistachio gelato, which was decent - it comes with chunks of pistachios inside, which I wasn't crazy about, but that's a personal taste. They did pour some sort of pistachio icing on top that made it better. Waiter was very nice but aloof at times, forgetting or misunderstanding a couple of things. He was a good sport though. While service was good, it took a minute before we even get our water and menus - we actually had to ask the host before he said our waiter would bring that to us, and waiter overheard convo, so he finally came and brought menus - they did sit and accommodate us right away upon arrival. Ambiance? There is none per my interpretation of it, but it isn't horrible either. It has more of a quick bite and run feel despite the nice pizza oven. The average person will find this place just fine as it falls well within the norm of similar pizzerias. However, if you have a sophisticated or demanding palate, this place will leave you empty. I'd eat Pizza Hut 10 times over before returning here. Try Vice City Pizza as an alternative - it's a small place and their style is more of a deep dish; however, unless you happen to dislike deep-dish, you will find them better and tastier.

I've gotten the pepperoni pizza here and Inloved it-- thin crust and add pineapple-- like a good Colombian But i was really craving a calzone and they only have a calzone dessert. what? The description says nutella and pistachio - Dios mío bendito, Dios me ampare I'm trying to loose some weight to look good. But then the waitress said something about the Pizza Fritta which is a rolled fried pizza with mozzarella, ricotta black pepper, ham, sweet salami and crushed tomatoes. Parce-- que delicia. It's basically like a calzone.. pero no joda-- it's like a chimichanga. The smell was sweet and intoxicating .. the taste indescribable- ofcourse i added pineapple . I ordered a alfredo pasta (hold pasta) and dipped the frittata pizza into an a mixture of alfredo and marinara sauce. few minutes later im texting my girl and posting online-- come to find out a deep fried calzone is called a Panzerotti.. and some call it the Italian cousin to the empanada. So the service was great, my waitress was wonderful- i had to eat outside cause it was packed.. but i'll be coming back for the pizza fritta and dessert calzone.. así siempre voy a ser el gordo

Although they may be small the food is mighty. It's a cozy little restaurant decorated with Italian panettone and wine bottles, but it's full of life. The servers are extremely polite, fast, and on top of it. They have an amazing selection of pizzas. The favorite of the night was the Affumicata! Smoke mozzarella, sweet salami, home style potatoes, with a fresh basil and cheese sauce! It was excellent! Highly recommend! We also enjoyed the mortadella e brutta, which had mortadella, fresh mozzarella and a pesto sauce, a regular cheese pizza that my kids devoured, and the Regina which was very tasty as well. For dessert I recommend the gnocchi de Nutella! It's to die for. It comes in a pizza crust bowl and the fried gnocchis are doused in white chocolate and Nutella. Absolutely amazing! All in all this place hits the spot and I would recommend you come and try it !

My husband and I visited this restaurant just a few days ago. I gave them a 3 out if 5 stars based on the following... 1) Pizza: 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion: My husband had the Pizzico pizza. It was more like a sandwich made with pizza. I found it a bit odd at first but boy it was delicious! I had the Parma 2.0 Pizza. It was fresh and delicious and perfectly made. My husband is not a fan of tomatoes so he removed them from his plate and added them to my pizza which worked superbly with the flavors in the Parma2.0 Going forward I think I'll order it again and add tomatoes to it. We ordered the focaccia with Rosemary. Although it was delicious it was not a true focaccia. It was the same dough they use in their pizzas. The olive oil was Devine with this! The best thing on the menu is by far their tiramisu! Now the reason for 3 stars instead of 5.... Their service was very friendly but extremely slow. At first it was slow but not too bad. The more crowded the restaurant the worse the service! It took so long to get my dessert that I was slightly pissed off when it arrived! It took so long to get our check that I was really mad and vowing never to return! When we first arrived I could not understand why this place only rated 4.3 but I get it now.

Had our pizza delivered to our Marriott Villa and everything went perfect! My husband is picky when it comes to private pizza chains! We're from Texas and give Piccola a Huge Thumbs Up' from The Thin Crust to the Cheese, and even the Pepperoni! It hit the spot Perfectly!! Great Job Guys! Well deserved 5+Stat review! When it's GREAT! It deserves to be bragged on!!'

Food quality has gone down, almost no flavor ,it's just not worth it for the price, and the wait time doesn't help either.

Stellar food with a side of mediocre service…read more.... My wonderful friends know I love Italian food, and in anticipation of my birthday, they made a reservation to dine at Basilico - Doral. I had hear raving reviews of their food and I really looked forward to experiencing this first-hand. Our reservation was for Saturday at 8pm. We arrived a bit before 8pm and allowed for the standard 15-minute grace period to elapse prior to following up on our table. The grace period elapsed, and my friend courteously asked the "server" as to the status of our table. The server unpleasantly replied: "The table has not gotten up, what do you want me to do, that is not my problem" After such poor response, she requested to speak with the manager, and to our surprise, HE WAS THE MANAGER! We were in awe as to the manner in which he poorly handled this situation. After this, we debated as to if we should stay or leave, and we decided to stay as I'm willing to put up with horrible service to have amazing food. I'm glad to say the food did not disappoint! we started with Grilled Octopus (which was perfectly cooked) and Burrata (which was fresh and tasty!). My main dish was a medium-well new York Strip with a side of Risotto. The 16 oz. steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty, and the risotto did not disappoint. For our closing, we ordered the Apple Struddle and Tiramisu, which were also outstanding. VERIDICT: If you are looking for amazing food and willing to potentially experience less than desirable services, this is it!

They were both attentive yet not intrusive and I believe our server was from Northern Italy, so that added to the authentic vibe. The bread that they brought out was really good and we even asked for more, which caused us to fill up a bit before the main meal, but it was worth it. The mushroom risotto was absolutely amazing! Our server recommended it and he was so right! The best that I have ever had anywhere. The lobster ravioli, however, was not as good and was just a little bit too lobstery. IDK how to explain it but it felt like it needed some more cheese or something to balance it out. My friend who spent some time living in Italy said said that their pizzas were really good and felt very authentic. We didn't have a chance to try them because we were stuffed by the time we left! We asked to be seated on the patio overlooking the canal and it was nice because it was actually fully enclosed and also separated by a sliding door from the main restaurant so it felt more private. My only complaint is that the parking at this place is horrendous. More than half the spots were dedicated for valet parking (cone blocking the spot) and when we arrived. There was not a single self-parking spot available meaning we would have to pay for the valet which I didn't want to do. Thankfully one nice gentleman moved the cone in front of a valet spot and let us park there. If you want to park nearby, there is no other parking than in the restaurant parking lot because the side street has no parking/tow warning signs everywhere. Overall, I would definitely go back but be cautious about the parking situation (4/5 stars).
