We stopped by on a weekday night after a late appointment. It's in the King Kullen parking lot on Sunrise Highway with plentiful parking. We'd been there many years ago, when our kids were little, mostly for pizza, and I once stopped there for lunch on my own. At the next table were three generations of a family celebrating a birthday. The food was plentiful, very reasonably priced, and the menu offered many choices. My wife suggested splitting the antipasto side salad and eggplant parmigiana... good call! Our waiter was helpful and experienced, and the kitchen was fairly prompt. There was also some quirky ambience, for example, a motorcycle hanging on the wall. Food is delicious!! Always a wait, but staff is friendly and you can hang out at the bar (where I was for a bit). Bartender refilled my drink at no charge which was very generous! It's a very welcoming restaurant where you get an amazing bread basket to start. They have a great salad/antipasto dish with every entree. The chicken is always delicious and juicy and the fish is always fresh. The portions are plentiful and I'm so glad this place is not that far so I can go back often! read more

Made reservations for NYE online from Piccolo's website well in advance. I received several texts asking me to confirm, which I did. I received a reminder of our upcoming reservation the day before. Suddenly, the night before I happen to see an email saying that our reservation was canceled. No phone call. I called the restaurant immediately, assuming it was a mistake. A girl answered and I explained that my reservation was canceled and asked for her to reinstate it. She told me to hold on. She did not put me on hold. She yelled for Frankie and told him that I was screaming at her (I was not upset, since I assumed this was just an innocent mistake and would be fixed). Frankie gets on the phone and tells me that OpenTable never should have allowed me to make the reservation. OpenTable is the way their website allows you to make reservations! Nonetheless, I asked why I didn't receive a phone call since this was very last minute, leaving our party little time to find an alternative plan. Frankie said we never even had a reservation - despite my emails and texts telling me different. Frankie was not apologetic. He repeatedly said this had nothing to do with his restaurant (again, the link to make reservations via OT is ON THEIR RESTAURANT'S WEBSITE). He said this was an OT mistake that he had nothing to do with. I asked if they could accommodate our party at an earlier time. He said no and hung up. It sounds to me that Piccolo's did not update their OpenTable reservations and continued to take reservations that did not exist. Then instead of owning up to their mistake, they are letting patrons believe it is their mistake. I suspect people will show up tonight and be surprised when their table does not exist. Regardless of where the blame falls, the least Frankie could have at least been courteous, offered an apology, and been polite. We did, in fact, plan our evening around this dinner and so having it canceled without even a phone call is just bad business. We will not return to this restaurant. read more

Came here for dinner on Sunday and cannot say enough wonderful things about the service. There are many restaurants on Long Island who have good food but service it what really makes a place stand out. Our server Theresa was beyond exceptional. She was attentive, charismatic and truly made our already good experience with the food a memorable one for how she treated us. We can't wait to come back and will make sure if she is working to ask for her. Friendly efficient service. Mediocre meal is being generous. I ordered the chicken eggplant combo and it was not fresh. The eggplant was very dry, over breaded and flavorless. The chicken cutlet was thin, dry, salty but edible. The salad and breadbasket were the best part of the meal. The pasta was ok. I don't recommend ordering entrees. I Recommend the espresso martini, watermelon Margarita and the low Sugar spiked lemonade. I have diabetes so the new low sugar drinks are prefect for me! Pasta Comes with a side salad and bread, first there was 2 types of bread, one typical italian with butter spread so good with the pasta and another was more like cheesy bread sticks with sauce and I ate all of it! The salad was fresh and their homemade vinaigrette is a soo good I would order just a large house salad next time! Generous amount of pasta and shrimp had to take some home for later! My daughter and her friend got pizza and mozzarella sticks and they ate it all and had fun, nice family spot and welcoming to kids. Dessert was great too ice cream and an Oreo cheese cake to die for! I had a baby shower for my daughter on 1/18 at Piccolo. everyone had a great time and there was plenty of food and it was delicious. Samantha and Sophia were excellent and very courteous servers and did whatever it was asked . A big thank you to them and the rest of the staff. Annie was amazing! Frank as well. Had my daughter's party here a few weeks ago. It honestly was a terrible experience. We came into the room and nothing was set up. We dropped decor, seating chart/cards, and balloons off at 10am for a 1pm party. We ended up finishing early at church so we all arrived at 12:45pm. Nothing. Was. Done. Still in the basket that I brought it in; placed on the table. I had to verbally tell people where their tables were as well as run around like a chicken without a head to put decoration around/untangle balloons. Pretty disappointed as well with management/owner, Tommy. When we booked this event, we purposely booked here for the family style menu. Everything was served family style other than the main course (Chicken Parm, Chicken Francese, Eggplant Rollatini, Salmon, etc) When I asked the waiter about it being family style he said the kitchen is under prepared for it to be family style, he's not sure. So I grabbed Frank & Tommy to ask about it. Tommy came off beyond aggressive saying "it's not on the contract... I don't remember it.... it's not written down". BUT if you look at the contract it doesn't say family style for pasta or dessert as well but yet that was served family style. So why is the entree served differently? Frank saw we were visibly upset and offered to have the cake be free. Well, good thing because they served the cake on hot plates fresh from the dishwasher (glad they were clean at least) This made the whipped cream melt and foam like. Food could have tasted better...Not really impressed then to have service be the way it was, just made a bad taste in my mouth. A few days later a woman called asking about my experience with the party. I told her exactly what is said above and she said Tommy (owner) would get back to me -- 3 weeks later and he still hasn't. read more

I ordered a combo plate which was supposed to be 3 shrimp, eggplant rollatini and lasagna. After digging around and scraping off layers of soggy breading I found 1 1/2 shrimps. The eggplant was not rollatini but wayward bits also covered in breadcrumbs and less than stellar sauce.
