Such a Disappointing Experience at this establishment. It all started with the negative energy from the hostess as soon as we arrived with our two young kids, a one year-old and five year-old. I understand that not every place is child-friendly, but this is a pizza place! We are excited to introduce our kids to a variety of cuisines from a young age, and we thought pizza would be a good choice. They aren't chicken fingers and fries kinda kids . The food was decent; I wouldn't go as far as to say it was the best pizza I've ever had. However, the meal was overshadowed by the hostess's attitude. Throughout our visit, she kept glaring at us every time one of the kids made even the slightest noise. It felt incredibly unwelcoming. To make matters worse, they do not provide high chairs. When we mentioned that we'd still like to stay despite that, since our one-year-old can sit in a regular chair, it felt like a battle just to get one. It was clear that the hostess was eager for us to leave. Our meal felt rushed, as if we were being timed on how quickly we could eat. Her continual glares were uncomfortable, especially since we were seated right next to the hostess stand. It's unfortunate how much a bad hostess can negatively impact a dining experience. I genuinely hope the management realizes this and considers better training for their staff. Overall, this experience made it clear to me that I won't be returning. I really had high hopes because I heard good things so I decided to try it. The place itself is small and you're practically on top of the other tables which isn't ideal. Second the chairs are insanely uncomfortable hard wood no padding. Staff was nice and patient as my friend decided on her entree. To start we ordered a pizza and it was indeed very good. For our mains I ordered the chicken cordon bleu Marsala. It came out extremely overdone where I couldn't even chew through the pieces on the ends they were singed. I replaced it with the chicken funghi and that dish just fell completely flat. The chicken itself wasn't flavorful and still a bit tough- now the sauce was TERRIBLE. I hate to say that but it was so bad it was thick as can be with so much cornstarch there was no Marsala flavor what so ever. I make Marsala a lot and I've been getting a similar dish at La Piazza for 25 years and it never misses the mark. I took two bites. Dessert was good I had a nice tiramisu. They have a full bar (sangria is made fresh and delicious!) Appetizers were bruschetta and meat/cheese board, everything is so fresh. Pizzas are a brick oven and airy crust. Servers are so helpful with the menu and great service. Highly recommend if you can get in one night! *What's strange though and to remember is that they do not offer some sort of call ahead seating nor reservations. I had seen Tony and Luigi's for a while after it opened on Merrick Road and finally my wife and I decided to go in and try it last night. We were blown away. The food was outstanding. We walked in around 4pm without reservations for 3 people and were seated immediately. For parties larger than 4 I would suggest reservations because the space is on the smaller side. The other funny thing about this place is that my cousin walked in through the restaurant next door and the waiter said people do that all the time, so now you know. Racist restaurant. Got there around 6:30, was told it's about 25 minutes for a party of 6 so we waited in the car and gave them our number to call. After 30 minutes we went back in to inquire about the table and were told it would be a while longer saying the table is still occupied. Keep in mind the place is small so they kept showing us which table would be ours as it's the only spot that can hold 6+ people. When I went back the third time, I noticed the same seats had people in it and were just getting their food. Mind you, this was over 45 minutes wait now from the original 25 minutes. Awesome Pizzas, cheese is very fresh and the tomato sauce is light and fresh ( not acid full of sugar) . Nice cozy place. Food was also very good. It is hard to find a good carpaccio and I have to say this was one of the best I have had in NYC. Also my son was so happy about the beautify clean bathroom that smell so good. I'll start by saying I ordered takeout on New Year's Eve, so I'm sure that was a contributing factor here... Overall I'd recommend it. The food was VERY good and the staff members I interacted with were awesome. Very nice, tried to be helpful and were very accommodating to everyone that walked in... The one area where this place can improve is operationally. Believe me, I get it was New Year's Eve, but they shut down their online ordering and had a voicemail active that stated they won't be taking any phone calls (and I know this is not the first time they've done this as my father-in-law had the same experience a month or so ago). So the only way for me to actually place my order was to go there in person. I was told it'd be about 30 minutes so I left and came back a half hour later, and still ended up waiting about 25 additional minutes... Definitely something for them to improve on. read more

There was one waitress for the whole restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, and she was the bartender as well, so it took her about 20 minutes to take our order the pizza that we got seem to be undercooked, the dough was way too soft And it tasted horrible.
