I called the Pick-n-Pull looking for a side mirror for my car. The guy on the phone said they had two of my make of car so I drove up there hoping I could find the mirror. When I got there the salesperson told me I had to pay a $3 yard fee just to enter the yard to look at the cars on the chance your part might be there. When I talked with them on the phone they didn't say anything about that. I figured I'd driven all the way to the place so I just paid it. But I've been to a number of other wrecking yards over the years and never had to pay an entrance fee. Turns out that 3 bucks was a complete waste of money because when I got out to the yard the side mirrors on both cars were already gone. When I complained on the way out they just shrugged. Picknpull is an invaluable resource for DIY mechanics. The staff is knowledgeable and mostly friendly. My only issue is that prices are sometimes unrealistic to the point that I could buy the part new for less than charged by picknpull. for example I recently needed an turbo intercooler for a 2018 Chevy Cruze. Picknpull wanted $90 so I ordered a new one for $60 delivered the next day. read more

Moreover, to make a return, you need to have a paper receipt with you, even if the purchase was made through an account linked to your phone number. Even if you manage to make a return, they won't give you your money back. Instead, they will issue a paper receipt with store credit. You can only spend it if you keep that paper receipt. read more

I've been going to Pick-A-Parts since I was a freshman in high school. I've not been to one in some time. With one exception, not much has changed. Crawl around cars looking for deals and hard to find parts. Protect cars your scavenging like fisherman protect sacred fishing holes. Those Dana 60 hub clutches can be worth their weight in gold. What's changed is the influence of the corporate pricing department. this place charges nearly new pricing for some of this junk. I see Schnizer Steel owns them now which explains this. Beyond the poor pricing they cheap out on customer service. On a busy sunny Saturday, they only had one cashier. So a 45 minute wait to pay too much for suspect parts. There are still some independent pick a parts in the area. One in Pulsbo that charges about 50% of the price of this place. One other thing is the inventory of vehicles they list online is totally wrong. Very disappointing. read more

This place can be pretty busy on the weekends and they look a bit understaffed for the crowd, so give them some slack. They didn't have the exact parts I was after but their yard is pretty well organized and, for what it is, a wrecking yard, relatively neat, as in, no ponds of coagulating oil or dangerous piles of crap. Read this before buying parts that you might return. First of all these people are rude and service is worst, they talk fast and not friendly at all. They rush things, not in a good way. Their business model on returns in almost scam. They mark the parts with weak markers that get erased with slight touch and when you want to return the part, they ask you where is the mark. Also, they mentioned hard stamp on the parts too, but mine never had one in the first place. So they just refused the return and I lost $140. Since I had no use for the part, I sold them back as core charge and they gave me $25 (like video games, selling expensive and buying cheap). If you have to buy parts from these worst people, make sure you see or get the hard stamp and verify it with them, so you can return it. read more

The worst customer service, the worst management and the worst people working here... Under NO circumstances should anyone do business with this organization. The manager probably has less than a 6th-grade education and is totally incompetent, can't even find a VIN on a dashboard (that is in plain sight). This place is a waste of time. Called before making the house drive to make sure they had the vehicle listed on their website. On crutches so asked if they could check if they had a part we were looking for and the employee said "nope" and hung up. I understand not being able to physically go out there and check for everyone. Made the hour drive and when we got there and checked-in we asked an employee what row it was in and he told us it wasn't even worth going into the lot to see as everything had been stripped of it. The website was helpful to locate a suitable match for my car. Yard well organized by brand it seemed. Took me a while to realize row #s are painted on the cars. Prices were AWESOME I thought, but people seem to complain about them. NO wheelbarrows available. This made moving the large door I removed a pain in the keyster. Other yards seem to be able to keep a suitable number around. -1 star for that. Service on checkout was unbearably slow. Employees all seem to hate their job. read more

I had a horrible experience trying to junk my vehicle here. The whole process took about two weeks. The customer service is really bad. You can't ever get anyone on the phone, and when you do they cut you off in the middle of your questions and then rout you to some national call center where they don't know they local information. They approved my vehicle pickup and then backed out the day they were supposed to come get my truck. Then they told me they would t be able to take it at all. If you're looking for you quick and easy way to junk your vehicle I would suggest not doing business with these people. read more

Over the years I have sourced many parts there for my now deceased 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan. By the business' very nature, I did not expect to find highly skilled workers there. The only information I ever sought from staff was whether they had a compatible model in stock and where to find it. It is my job to find out beforehand which versions and model years are compatible for the part I needed. I brought my own tools, once even a garden trailer full of them. No problem. The cars are sufficiently spaced and safely elevated on welded up steel rims. Adequate prices with a refund or exchange option, if the part turns out not to work. There was a $2 access fee. Great resource. Usually quick and easy in and out. Will keep using them. read more

I took my wrecked car there to sell knowing i wouldn't get much but wanting to get rid of it. So I call ahead to make sure i have what they need and can i bring it in now. So when we get there they want us both to "sign in" on a tablet that wants our life story practically and its too small to read or type on and people are waiting and why no other businesses have to do this? Covid? or what? Then waited in line at a window with noone behind it for 15 minutes before an employee decided to show. No apologies, no eye contact through the whole operation, no personality whatsoever. Couldn't hear half of what she was saying behind her glass window. Terrible service. Made an appointment for them to pick up my donated car. The driver tried to come 2 hours before the appoinment, then cancelled when I didn't answer. I called 90 before my appointment and they said even though they made the mistake I would have to reschedule. Took 5 minutes to make an appointment with a better company. Go elsewhere. I lov e this place. Not only did they buy my old junker for a great price, you can usually find the part that you need there. In my case it was a radiator fan with clutch for my 2004 dakota, and windshield washer assembly for my 2007 volvo. Be advised, they have an unusual way to let you into the yard. $2 per head, but it is refunded on your purchase. They will tell you if they think they have a car with the parts that you are looking for. You do need to remove the parts yourself. read more

The name of this place has changed over time. I'm not sure if it's been owned by the same or different companies. You pay a small fee to come inside, bring your tools, and go hunting for what you need. If they're bigger ticket items, they may already be pulled. I recommend latex gloves to keep your hands somewhat clean. For a junk yard, I find the organization to be decent - cars are in rows. It's not a great place to be in rainy weather as it gets muddy but hey, it's the northwest. They do everything they can do to treat the cars well. However, people who use the place often are brutal on parts they don't need which is not great. Today, there was one person working the counter. I'm grateful for that. However, the line can get long so be prepared both for hunting for your parts and for waiting to get out. Last month, I needed a new car battery but wasn't budgeted to buy one. $30 got me a new one with a bit of a warranty = deal! It's a great option to have if you can't afford to buy new, it doesn't make sense to buy new, or just want to save a few bucks. read more

All the fun. My last review was deleted completely by Yelp. Im a real person, who has used the lynnwood, Arlington, and Tacoma Pick n Pull yards. These are my real experiences, thoughts and knowledge about them. Horrible service from grouchy people, worn out high mile cars. Out of state corporate profiteering !! I talked with a government inspector that was at the Lynnwood yard monitoring the oil that was spilling into the CREEK that runs through the middle of the yard. I learned a lot ....Walk to the south end of the yard, you can see all the oil, and the creek outflow. First off. There is no state "Environmental Fee" it is simply a fee of 10% that Pick n Pull charges on top of the 2 dollar entrance fee. Its a cat and mouse trick... The price quoted seems ok.... You pull it.. Then bam its the part + 2 dollar entrance Fee + 10% Environmental Fee + TAX + no cash refunds + mediocre parts === Bummer for you Most of the cars are from Copart insurance Auctions and IAA(donated cars ie Wheels for Wishes etc and insurance totals) Pick n Pull places a blanket 100 dollar bid on Every high mile, beat to death Junk car. When no other bidders like car lots, or car flippers care, pick n pull wins that car. (usually 20-50 or so cars every Monday from each auction venue) So when you are pulling parts, they are off the cheapest, highest mileage junk Pick n Pull can buy. Other wrecking yards get top dollar for parts by having a few of these type of cars but mostly much more expensive, lower mileage, nicer wrecked cars. Also, yes the broken "fixer" cars they sell as complete cars for 1,000 + are those 100 dollar Auction cars. Schnitzer Steel is the parent company who purchased Pull A Part (who was owned by the Farrell family - Farrell's auto wrecking) Schnitzer said they would keep employees, but instead fired nearly everyone, then over the course of months upped prices usually at least Quadrupling them. Parts like alternators are now so high priced that after paying 2 bucks, hoping they have the part, slogging through mud and rain, You're WAY BETTER OFF getting the part rebuilt from a parts store. EXCHANGE ONLY of defective parts, means if they don't have another part for you to slogg through the mud and rain to get... YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK and out of money !!! I was surprised that you wanted $33+ plus environmental fees and tax! eBay has brand new ones for $18 to $24 manual and electric! Your price should be $10!! The one I pulled from your yard even had orange paint speckles from your sloppy orange spray paint markings everywhere! Get up to speed with the market'!! This has happened more than once and it makes no sense! A used Alternator is only $19.99 plus core. That's less than a cheap side view mirror. You guys over there really need to make realistic prices! Because guess what; if you did, I would spend my money there. Instead I was up and leave parts on your counter and say good buy! How quickly corporate greed infects any decent place. Pull apart used to be a haven for and a save for back yard mechanics to get replacement parts for next to nothing. The discount for parts coming from saving labor by the consumer pulling the part themselves. Then it was bought/changed their name to pick n pull. Then everything changed and the wave of corporate greed came. Where once you would hear a couple dollars for an aging rubber stock air intake hose. Now its inflated to $30. When you bring trivial parts up like that not even worth it. A place where the employees just make up a price and nothing seems consistent except the chunk of their wallet they take out. Take yesterday for example. I had picked up a bumper gaurd for relatively cheap $13 the day prior for a 99 Camry I was gifted. I had found one but ended up being slightly different. So I went to exchange it. When I went there I found a car the same color year make and model. I thought this was fantastic since the current bumper cover was a bit beat up and the one on the car I found was in better shape. With fog lights to boot! Nice sunny day and felt like the junk yard gods smiling down on me just felt lucky. So I spend maybe half hour 45 mins taking this bumper cover off to get to the part I need. Then I take it up front. The closer I get the more I am worried about how much they will charge me and why did I even bother to bring the bumper cover up. So I get up there to do the exchange as I had already brought the wrong part back and left it up at the front while I went to retrieve the correct one. This is where everthing went to hell. So imediately the guy asked who rang me up for my original part as apparently the previous person had made up the incorrect price. Metal more expensive as that is what they buy these cars for. To recyle the metal. The junk yards whole goal is to get rid of as many parts plastic, glass, door panels, and what not as they can before crushing it to a tin can. Most cars they pick up are donated or they pay $200 or less plus towing costs for your car. So anything they sell you on individual parts they are making a killing cause they are not paying labor for employees to have someone go pull the part for you. Hence why you pay a $1 (or $2) if not a reward member and sign your life away saying they are not liable if you get hurt and away you go into the yard. So after I was told that they had charged me wrong for the metal part. I dared to ask how much the bumper cover was. Which he responded with $34 which for a piece of plastic is $21 more than the metal piece I paid for the previous day. I was also informed I would be charged $10 per fog light (which were bolted to the metal bumper gaurd). I was even almost charged for the grill which was part of the bumper cover mold. Grand total came out to $94. Which I am no rocket scientist but $34 plus $20 is $54 and my bumper gaurd was free since I was exchanging for the one that didnt fit. I am pretty sure taxes should not exceed $30 plus dollars. So obvioisly trying to make up for the loss on the incorrectly rung up part the previous day. So I did what any sane knowlegeable self respecting person would do in the face of corporate greed. I unbolted the over priced fog lights from the part I actually needed and left the bumper and cover fog lights sitting on the cart at the register and to the bewildered look of the cashier. (Like how dare you not pay for the price I made up dont you need it?). Left him there. I didnt need the part. So I left him there with his stupid corporate satan grin. My ascenion to junk yard utopia and feeling like I got a win in a place where you can walk the whole yard and not find what you are looking for. My happy balloon deflated. So the next day. I had a little extra money to spare so I went back to the same place to see if I could get just the cover at the $34 minus the fog lights. I walk the yard looking for the loose bumper cover. Unable to find it. So I go back up and ask what they do with parts that people bring up but dont buy. I then found out they put them in a scrap bin. Thats right they dont even have employees take them back to the yard. They just simply throw them in a bin and if nobody grabs them from the bin then they dump it. In my case the bin had apparently been emptied that morning or the day before. They simply just threw it away. For something that they said was worth $94 to them it really was was just trash. Which just infuriated me even more and inspired me to write this review. Pick n Pull is a place where corporate greed comes before the customer. Where everyone is treated like a theif when the real crooks are behind the counter making up prices. For things that they will just be thrown away if you reject their outlandish prices after spending your time removing the part yourself. Would give a negative 5 stars if I could. read more

Having visited Lynnwood Pick'n'Pull a few times I think it's time for a review. I am angry because I'm sick 'n tired of dealing with dumbasses that run this place. U'd think junkyard salespeople are supposed to be technically proficient so they can tell the purpose of parts just by glancing at them. Not the case here. It's like P'n'P intentionally hire Wal-mart reject cashiers who have no concept of customer service not engineering aptitude. On previous visits I've noticed them slighting the customers with passive "don't really care to be here not even close to loving my job" kind of demeanor. I don't know how management is tolerating such lack of purpose. That's not fundamentally important though, techical professionalism is important. Case in point: Chrysler part numbers 5012750AA or 5137781AA or 52402590 is a small electric motor that moves the flaps in the HVAC suitcase. In the past these were pneumatic servos but nowadays they are electric. Its equivalent function in P'n'P's catalog is 685-2 Heater Control Valve $7.59. Yet the readhead had no idea what this part was and the non-technical manager told her it's a "control module" for $20. I'm not buying such bullsh!t. I visited a week ago and was almost ripped off too. A different gal ran up the bill with bogus "extended" warranties that I didn't ask for nor would ever buy. This place is a scam. Please keep looking for a better junkyard for yourself. Now I'm secretly hoping they will be shut down for environmental violations too. This junkyard is stuated in a valley of sorts and every rain season there's a small stream flowing through the yard, resulting in a lot of oily run-off. It looks like they had to install a filtering rig at the lowest point by the fence, but this is just a bad territory for anything industial. read more
