Tom is honest and charges fair prices and does great work. He has done great work on my Mustang GT. I have kept coming back to him for upgrade to my GT. He fixed the Air conditioning a couple of years ago, and it's stayed fixed. Unlike others who only replace the bad part in the air conditioning and then buy the end of the summer it needs fixing again. When they go bad they often get "glitter" inside and it wrecks other parts. He did it right, and charged me less than some that only replace part of it. Husband has been working on his F-150 for a week. There was a problem with his brake lights/ blinkers. Replaced all the bulbs. Fuses, wiring harness, all the usual suspects. We finally asked for a referral on one of my Facebook groups and he was suggested. Dropped it off Tuesday night and it was fixed Wednesday afternoon! Tom, Jane, Steve, and Dan @ B & M all work together to make a very competitive buisness and do it well. The service I've had done over the last 8 years has been great to me, my car, and my budget. They change my oil for $20 I bring them My filter and mobile 1 oil I get at Costco, and get parts cheap on Amazon & eBay they install saves me huge! They have serviceed my vehicles at least 100times (I drove 200k mi) I've had lots of mods done to my Acura integra like intake exhaust header, new starter new alternator, he maintains and installs when needed or at my request all my belts, pulleys, hoses,thermostats, radiators, breaks, oil changes, trans flush, and anything else that has ever been necessary so I never have a breakdown. He helped me get a new computer and my car dyno tuned and I got 158 horse power now and 138ft lbs torque which is a huge improvement and next will be building a vtec head for more horsepower even turbo if I want 400hp on my 91 integra :) . Out of all the great things they have done they have only misdiagnosed all of my problems 2 times. That gives them a 98% rating w me. Though they didn't eat the cost of those hours they put in guessing (which was fairly expensive $1200) it's great maintainance that probably should've been done anyway , & they do eat the cost of time when a part has had a failure that needs to re-done on warranty repair and it equals out. It's nice to have dealer parts when they are available and affordable but it doesn't happen all the time and they work w me. read more

This place was dishonest and unethical, and treated us poorly. They lied about parts availability (not a good idea when anyone with a smartphone can prove you wrong). They would not allow me into the shop to see the problems they say needed fixed on my car. When I confronted the "owner" at the desk, she told me it is her business and that she will run it the way she wants to. Well, go ahead, run it that way. I'm never really sure if I'm getting a good deal when it comes to auto mechanics. I don't trust any of them. But here's the deal....... if you have friends and relatives always telling you where they take their cars for service and then you look the establishment up on Yelp and you see they have a 5 star rating, then this is a good enough reason to try them. New clutch, replaced some seals on my rear brakes (told me that the pads are fine), and replaced the spark plug wires (after Harris Ford replaced the plugs but not the wires). Sure it cost me 1900.00 and change but I know they stand behind their work and the truck has never run better. Great shop! read more

Across the street from B&M is Seaview Chevrolet. We took our GMC Envoy initially to Seaview because there were some slight surging issues. They charged us $150 to troubleshoot it. When they were done, they told me that the engine had a timing issue related to the cam shaft and that it would cost around $3500 to open it up and repair. However, the mechanic heard some noises and that the engine probably needed to be replaced for $7500. We figured that we would run the car until it died. Soon after that a friend recommended B&M. I took the GMC there without telling them anything about Seaview. After about $600 worth of troubleshooting and work, the GMC is running great with many miles expected to go. B&M are owned and operated by a husband and wife team that live locally. They both know their stuff and are straight forward with the business practices. Yeah...I recommend them highly! read more

Not impressed at all. I was referred to them by someone whom I respect immensely. The vehicle was brought in with a specific malady. Within a day or so I was informed that the motor was beyond repair. I had asked for specific testing and was assured that it would be pointless. We buy a motor and deliver it. Mechanic calls again and states that the engine is actually fine. It's something that correlated to why I brought it in initially. 3 weeks later, I paid for a car to sit and not have engine codes checked, warning lights not addressed, no car wash, no vacuuming out the interior. The fuel leaks weren't looked at, the oil leaks were ignored. Maybe this shop is good for replacement of like for like. You know, bad brakes or doing an oil change. I suggest using a specialist when you need to fix things. Come here for the oil change. read more

I had a terrible experience here. BAIT and SWITCH. I was quoted one price, $150 to fix something on my car. Granted, my car has had this issue for an entire year. I've driven through the states of Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, California last summer with this problem. No check engine light, nothin' (*my car is considerably older though, so with every repair, I consider if it is truly worth fixing the vehicle) Such it is with Tom's B & M Auto, they are not honest. For $150 I thought, hey, I'd get it fixed. The part is ordered, I wait around until later that day: the reception lady (co-owner) calls me. Suddenly, it is $245 with tax. That's almost doubled! She wants to add on a fee for the diagnostic, which she did not tell me! They see the out-of-state license plate and she wants to take advantage! The really infuriating part is the non-sequitur she adds: she says to me, over the phone, "My overhead is a lot." Neither here nor there, lady!! You quoted me one price, you have to keep by it! I mean, they told me the $150 price *so I would get it fixed there* Otherwise, I would have driven it elsewhere - suddenly, when it's fixed, it's $100 more? BAIT and SWITCH tactic. Irregardless that they never explained that I would be charged an extra $100 diagnostic fee, which they should have explained: I call them back to tell them that this is total b.s., I've never been charged a diagnostic fee at my other car repair place - they always wave it if I *get the work done there* Or they charge me something minimal, like $25. Finally, she says (co-owner) that I will not have to pay that. Okay, I'm thinking, finally *progress* Here's the shady part, fasten your seat belt: I momentarily turn my phone off. Then I call back and she says, "Hey, we've been trying to reach you.." I'm like, "Okay, why?" Suddenly, in the span of about 5 or 10 minutes, the car is suddenly unfixable..Yes, that's right. 10 minutes prior, it was ready to be picked up, for the price of $245 + tax. Since, I complained about the $100 upcharge, it suddenly does not require the new part...But, she says, the guy (co-owner, her husband, I guess..) whose name escapes me, has been working on it for about an hour-and-a-half...so I will need to talk to him about how much I should pay. So, basically, it's just all a scam...They will quote you one price, then tack on some extra fees which they did not tell you about. Then they will not do the work at all, but still charge you hundreds "for their time" (Highly shady, because, I was not there..How do I know that he was working an hour and a half on my car, it could have easily been 10 minutes!) When all is said and done, they charge me $108 to "clean a valve" No new part, they said it wasn't necessary. (or, they just passively-agressively just didn't want to do it, lol,lol,lol, when I complained about the unethical upcharge, and that was their way of saying "screw you") Granted, my car still ran, before I took it in. Like I said, I drove across all of those states with that issue.The next day (today), of course I am concerned about it. It ran okay before I took it in despite having this issue. OH, when I first entered the store, the receptionist (co-owner) was on the phone paying a bill. I left and said I would come back momentarily, since she was reading off her debit card number to pay said bill. Like, she needs money for her bill so she needs to upcharge me? read more

Excellent service, good work, and at a fair price. Only one minor exception below. A couple months ago the air conditioner on our Honda stopped working. We got one of those refill bottles to see if it just maybe needed to be charged again but when we hooked up the bottle we heard hissing out the front of the car so we knew there was something dreadfully wrong. I first took it to another mechanic to take a look at it. I also had noticed that the brakes squeeled a little so I also asked this other mechanic to check the brakes. The other mechanic came back with a price for the air conditioner parts (condenser) and said I needed a brake job too. Just to check the quote I called a couple other places, and one of them was Tom's B&M. Their quote for the air conditioning work was about $80 cheaper than the other shop, and their break job was going to be cheaper too. Given the reviews on Yelp I felt pretty confident leaving it at Tom's for the repair. A couple hours later I got a call from Tom's saying there was a problem. They said the air conditioning repair went great and it was working, but that when they went to do the brakes that they found the brakes and rotors in perfect condition with 70% of the pads remaining. They recommended that I don't change the brakes because it would just be a waste of money. I was so grateful for their honesty! It was clear the other shop was just trying to get some extra money out of me. That right there made me feel better about them. The work was done, and it worked, and I didn't spend more than I needed to. The car was done when they said it would be. My ONLY small complaint was just that there was some grease on the inside of the car when they were done. It's probably when the mechanic got in to test the A/C or brakes (when they put it back together) he got a little grease on the steering wheel and the door handle too. It's a minor thing, and not enough to make me stop going there. But it did mean I needed to clean up a little after them. Well worth it for an honest mechanic and a fair price, but if something had been stained I might be more bummed out. Overall, I'm very happy. And taking my second car to them for a timing belt change and major service in a few weeks. read more

On my epic road trip from Utah to Seattle something popped in the engine to my Mazda MX-3. From Oregon onward my oil was completely empty every 30 miles. It was pretty devastating, but when I brought it into Tom's they were very helpful and printed out a list of places that had spare engines, including prices. They had my car up and running in a few days and so far it's running great! Good stuff. read more

Worst mechanic service ever. I took my car in to get the master cylinder replaced. I knew for a fact that needed to be done. It started with a dispute as to the time to fix the master cylinder. Insurance (extended warranty ) said less than what mechanic said. So I would have to pay $100 over my copay. I was told I would have to come in to sign authorization to get the car fixed. They never called me to sign. But they went ahead and fixed the car. I went in to get the car and suprisingly I was only charged 14$ over my copay. I was told the battery was dead and they couldn't start the car had to tow it. That was never a problem. I got in started just fine. Since had battery checked it's fine. BUT since I was given the car back it keeps dying. It won't idle. I went to talk to the mechanic "Tom" and he denied that they did anything to make it die. He was very argumentative and defensive. DO NOT EVER TRUST B AND M AUTO. they are crooks and crappy mechanics. I would never go there again. And that was me trying to trust them. I took my Dodge Ram in and they told me that one wouldn't start and needed a new engine. I just rebooked the battery cables it started fine and the engine is still living. CROOKS!!!! read more

Just had my Murano fixed up here - Jane is friendly, professional and just plain awesome. My alternator died as well as my battery - being that it was going to be a pretty intense labor job, I expected a high bill - but it actually cost a bit lower than expected. My friend told me about Tom's a couple years ago, and I wish I knew about them 10 years ago! Very honest, down to earth people, and I dont worry about getting 'fleeced' for auto repairs anymore. I've had some nightmares with other shops in the area, Including Harris Ford, Goodyear, sunny's, etc., but here I feel like part of the family, and I will continue to be loyal to them. I even get my oil changes here, a little more pricey than taking it to the guys on the corner, but Tom's will check all fluids, tire pressure, and even test drive your car afterwards to make sure everythings ok. They are very attentive and only charge for what they need (they thought my car needed a new alternator so they ordered it and put it in and turned out it was a different problem and didn't charge me a dime for that). Jane is great! I called in and after explaining the cars problem and giving her the car info so told me my car should still be under the manufacturer warranty and to call the dealer. My mom has being going here for years, so I took my 93 civic in and a safety check so pretty much asking what is wrong anything horrible. I am going to start off say my car was made in 1993 so its old not everything is going to be perfect, but took it in and they said my car was so bad I need to get rid of it, the brake were about to go they were so bad and much more, so I drove home nearly crying because I thought something was so wrong with the car after just buying it. My dad and brother both know quite a bit about cars so they said ill check it out brakes are fine on my car no leaks and my car is not going to break down anytime soon. Can't say enough good things about the shop and the mechanic who worked on my car - Dan. I just moved here from the east coast and when I took my car into the brake shop for brakes they discovered my front left control arm was shot and needed to be replaced so they recommended Tom's B & M Auto shop which was right next door. Dan came right over, looked at the car and then quickly went back to his shop and gave me a written quote. I scheduled the repair and dropped off the car the next day. Once Dan got into the job he found that all the rust from the salt used back east had everything badly rusted and frozen in place but he used great mechanical skills and a saw to get it removed and then installed the new arm. He showed me the old arm when I picked up the car and I was amazed that he was able to get it out without damaging any of the joints. Drives great. Dan will be my mechanic for life. Not only did they tell me the car was useless and stand up to their regular for trying to sell me dangerous junk, but they hooked me up with a car dealer and haggled with him for me to get an awesome price on a trustworthy used car (this is a year ago). Since then I've been able to count on them (and especially Jane!!) to give me cheap, honest advice and do good work-- even though I would be easy to take advantage of being young, poor and un-knowledgeable about cars. read more

Not the cheapest but they warranty their work. They are always able to get your car done quickly, they're not booked 3 weeks out like some other shops I've tried to go to. They will even recommend other shops if they think another place can do it for cheaper. I had a catalytic converter go bad in my Astro van a while back. They said it would be ~$900 for them to replace it since it's a solid section of piping, no bolts, all the way from the start of the muffler to the exhaust manifold, so the flow restrictor and all the extra piping would be replaced too. They said another muffler shop down the street could cut out just the catalytic converter and weld a new universal one in for $300 - $400, much cheaper, and recommended that, saying they weren't willing to do custom welding like that in their shop for safety reasons. Probably something to do with being able to warranty it also I'm guessing. I decided to have them replace the whole thing anyway for the more expensive price since I like them so much. Dan even had me walk around the counter and look at his computer as he ordered the part so I knew exactly what was happening. Whoever reviewed saying they didn't allow him to go into the shop to see what was going on, he must have been aggressive or weird about it. They let me in the shop just fine and showed me how they were testing to determine what was wrong and everything. Great guys. read more
