I took my wife's car in because it was making some noises while turning. The initial diagnosis from my usual mechanic (aka "enter a description into ChatGPT and seeing what it says") was a possible CV joint issue. It turned out the skid plate had detached a bit, so the fix was as simple as reattaching it to the car so it didn't scrape against anything. Not only was it a quick fix (about six hours from drop off to pick up), but they didn't even charge the usual diagnostic fee, saying they wouldn't feel right charging it given how easy it was to find and fix the issue. I purchased tires here two years ago and have been losing pressure every three days. I made an appointment for 8AM. When I showed up I was informed they could not work me in. I made another appointment for the following day. When I showed up for the second appointment, I was told they could only find obvious problems, like a nail for instance. I am sure I could find things like a nail on my own. He said they cannot check for 'slow leaks' because they don' t have a 'dunk tank.' I would need to go to an outside 'tire expert' for that. When I asked about the warranty, he said I would need to come back to Jeff's after seeing a 'tire expert.' I gave up and refuse to return to Jeff's for anything. We have been customers for 20 years and this is no longer the same place. No, it was not a 'misunderstanding' on my part and it is too late for a manager. read more

We did not hear from them all day so called just before closing and was told they got busy and forgot about our car. Went to pick it up and they said we could reschedule and the service would be no charge so we rescheduled for Tuesday and again dropped off before they opened. Again no call all day so called them and they said they did a visual look at the engine but no diagnostics or testing. So they had it for 2 full days and did nothing. Place is worthless. read more

Had an oil change done where they over filled my oil level by a half quart to a whole quart, so now I have to drain my oil down to avoid engine damage. During this discovery they had also performed a transmission flush where my transmission fluid was slightly cloudy, at 90,000 miles - after service the transmission fluid was the same showing dark red with blackish tint - so who knows if they really did a transmission flush. They were supposed to install a tire sensor, I was told they don't have any in stock yet I found the part in my cup holder, come to find out they installed a new one but didn't know how to program it. Manager takes no accountability there. Technicians complains. Don't go here unless you want them to screw up your car. read more

Honest service at competitive prices. I was referred here by a co-worker as my last mechanic retired. I normally do my own minor maintenance and repairs on my cars. However, I needed to get some work done that required a lift, which I don't have. I called in a was able to get an appointment the following week. They were thorough with their vehicle assessment in addition to reasonably priced for the work they did. There was no "upselling" or trying to scare you with unnecessary repairs ahead of normal schedule. I appreciate an honest repair shop. I never write Yelp reviews, but the service I got from Jeff's is worth it. I don't know much about cars and at any point they could have ripped me off on an extra alignment or "found" something else wrong, and I wouldn't have questioned it (like I didn't question Nissan), but they were honest, straightforward, and even texted a couple of days later to see if any issues had come up with the repair. I had a loud rumbling noise coming from my front passenger wheel and when I took my car into the Nissan dealer for a recall repair, I had them do a diagnostic where they recommended an $800 bearing replacement and $1500 for a new control arm. My brother recommended Jeff's and while it did take a couple of calls for them to get back with an estimate, they were $600 cheaper on the control arm. They were booked just over a week out, but it was totally worth it. After looking at the car, they told me I could wait a year on the control arm and they had the bearing replaced by 3P that afternoon. Told us that a belt they replaced was the reason our water pump needed replaced and then charged us $500 after saying they would not charge us at all. I really had an awesome experience from beginning to end. I live in southern California and wanted to buy a 1991 Ford Mustang from a dealer in Washington. Before making the drive and just trusting the pictures, I decided to get a "Pre-purchase Inspection". I google reviews of shops near the dealer and found Jeff's Auto Repair with great reviews. I called them and was greeted with a professional phone system, which was a really pleasant surprised. Once I made a quick selection I was on the phone with Shane. I didn't get transferred around, Shane was my single point of contact going forward. Great customer service, friendly police, but above all knowledgeable and I could tell he know what he was talking about. He booked me in with in a few days. Wow, what a detailed PPI report. I mean it included pictures and a ton of information! Shane also went through the report with me over the phone and then gave me his honest opinion. When Jeff owned the business and Chris, Brian and George were there it was amazing. Realize !nee owners change business models etc. but no longer having a manager or expert to speak with (rather a cashier/greeter) has lost luster and work done wasn't as good as before. Records didn't transfer over well in the system and they recommended things that had been done not long before. I wish them the best, but the new owner was handed a stellar operation on a silver platter, then to toss it in the name of savings, nah. Sorry, won't be back. the last two times I've come in to get my oil changed at Jeff's in Lynnwood they've told me I needed services that I was able to confirm had either just been done 6 months prior or, most recently, were not necessary at all. The first time I got an oil change here they told me I needed fresh brake and transmission fluid, both of which had just been replaced 6 months before at the Sandpoint Jeff's at my last oil change. At this most recent oil change I was told again that the brake and transmission fluid needed changing AND that a rear strut was leaking, a backing plate needed to be replaced, and that I was due to have a fuel system service per manufacturer recommendations. I took my car to the dealership for a second opinion and their findings were that none of that was true except the transmission fluid did need a refresh And I needed a new AC pollen filter. Don't take your car here or take their service recommendations. This is a stupid way to do business and I shouldn't have gone back after the first incident, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I made an appointment to have the oil changed on my Pontiac Solstice. I received a phone call late that same day from Jeff's Auto and they said they couldn't change the oil on my car because it had a fiberglass frame and their lift would break the frame of my car. Interesting, as I have never had a shop not able to change the oil on a Pontiac Solstice. I did some research regarding the frame of my car, and it is a steel frame. My faith in having any work done on my car by this shop is zero. I would never trust my car to a shop that couldn't even change the oil. Unbelievable! read more

I bought my Honda Pilot in for an oil change; usually I bring it to the dealer across the street as I don't stay informed on recalls the way I need to. However, Honda didn't have any avails this week so I was thrilled to secure time with Jeff's Auto Repair. PROS: I have a corporate discount here (yeah) and they also offer AAA discounts (one or the other is accepted). The response time on phone for scheduling appointments and in shop service were prompt and courteous. Huge plus ;-) CONS: Price. I just called the dealership to do a cost analysis and Jeff's was more expensive which is a bit of surprise since I received a discount. Dealer $44.95 + tax / Jeff's $55.95 + tax...I think it would have been more if I didn't respond verbally upon check-out...it was over $60.00 - in my opinion too much money. Summary: If I'm in a jam again, I will use their services or I will wait until an appointment opens up at the dealer. Wish: I knew how to change my own damn oil! read more

I assume they are price gouging during the pandemic. I have an 09 Civic that I only spent $3,000 on, and they wanted $2,100 for the work they wanted to do! It was going to be over $300 to replace the spark plugs. I can do this myself for less than $100! Over $900 to replace the back brakes, calipers, and rotors. It was just over $500 at Les Schwab! I've been taking my car to Jeff's to get oil changes for years. Had an appointment this morning and asked if they had time to check my brakes while doing the oil change. About 30 minutes later, they were done and told me they had good news - because this was my fifth oil change, it was free!! I had no idea this was a thing - score!! A tech by the name of Brian worked with me the entire time, put me at ease, and demonstrated a transparency and capability beyond that which I could have ever have expected. My car was idling rough and stalling. They cleaned carbon off the throttle body and mass airflow sensor. At most, the cleaning would have taken 30 minutes. Two hours to diagnose? Absolutely not. Total $300. I get my car. Still idling very rough so I take it back again Now they tell me I need a new throttle body. Why didn't they diagnose that before? They tell me it will be another $500. Now it's $800 to replace the throttle body (about $150 part). Since the $300 was a waste of money and it was their mistake not diagnosing it correctly, the should have offered to reduce the amount of the throttle body. This isn't a complicated issue to figure out given the symptoms. These people are supposed to be "experts". Will I give them another $500? No way. read more

I brought my truck in to Bring a remedy to the rear brake problem and loud noise we had coming out the rear rotors. Jeff's crew was quick to find the problem and repair the issue. In their inspection, they mentioned the front bearings were worn but never told my employee picking it up any of these details. Understanding the severity of this problem they didn't tell us the bearing was already "gone." We used the truck for one delivery and it completely failed and broke within 5 miles. I'm disappointed they saw the severe damage but didn't stress to us the urgency of the repair that was needed. In fact I'm skeptical the damage was even there to before we brought it up. Their response was to put in $1000 to fix the bearing and bring it back to normal. I.e. If go to a doctor to X-ray my broken collar bone and they come across cancer in my heart but don't mention anything, why wouldn't they bring it up to me as an emergency rather than carelessly neglect providing a full service. I since then too my truck to another competitor that found the issue, gave us all aspects to the truck and potential problems. Very honest staff. My car badly needed a tuneup; but finding a trustworthy auto repair place isn't easy; even some of the well-reviewed ones seem to be taking people for a ride. Called Jeffs and asked for an estimate over the phone; Chris helped me and was very informative and knowledgeable about what the next best steps were to take. Brought my car in (I thought it was the timing belt that was part of the problem; timing belt repairs can range anywhere from $500 - $1000) as well as the spark plugs and a few other things. Turns out the timing belt didn't need to be changed; but my car was misfiring so I needed new spark plugs and wires. Because I had mentioned that I thought the spark plugs/wires were part of the problem when I initially came in and spoke with Chris he gave me a significant discount on having a diagnostic tech spend 2 hours of time to run a diagnostic. Chris called me to follow up and was very thorough about explaining the findings of the diagnostic. My car is my only transportation to work and because they were fairly busy that day he had mentioned I might have to bring it in again; just because the diagnostic had revealed a completely different problem and the techs had already been booked out for that day. Chris was able to get me in the very next day; so I left it overnight and got a ride home with a friend. Picked my car up and it's running noticeably better; I can easily tell the difference and I know I didn't have a bunch of extra services added to it just to run up the bill; they diagnosed the highest priority problems with my car and fixed them; all while being very thorough and detailed about everything going on with the car. Very friendly customer service and very honest (which is a rarity with any auto places) Overall; very satisfied with how Jeffs handled my car situation; from start to finish they've earned a long term customer. read more

We have been using Jeff's for years, and have always found them to be honest, reliable, and great communicators. I'm writing to review now because they really took care of us last week. On Thursday evening, we noticed that our car was having trouble starting. We weren't sure if it was a starter issue, a battery issue, or something else. Ordinarily, this wouldn't have been a big deal, but we were going on a camping trip to the North Cascades on Friday, and didn't want to end up stranded. I called as soon as the shop opened on friday morning, and asked if there was any way that we could get in for service. Brian told me that he was completely booked for the day, and short one technician, but he would do what he could. I brought the car in and waited, hoping that we wouldn't have to set up camp in the dark. I heard from Brian around 11--he told me that all that was needed was a new battery, and that the car would be ready by noon or so. He also suggested an oil change, since we were 1,000 miles overdue. The car was ready as promised, and we were able to go on our trip with only a slight delay from our original plans. They really came through for us. read more

They are good about calling you to inform you of what is going on. They send you discounts and have a loyalty program where part of each bill goes toward an oil change. What I can say is "going the extra mile and a half". I had come to pick up my car about an hour to closing time on a Friday evening and I was using cash because I had recently lost my wallet. Turns out I didn't get out enough money and ended up a few dollars short. I needed to return to the bank to grab some more money and by the time I got back, they were closed. I thought to myself oh no my weekend is completely ruined! Won't be able to get all my errands I'll have no vehicle to get to work on Monday, and then I saw George waving his hands crossing the street. There are nearly a dozen auto repair places within a mile of these guys, so when I needed a new alternator, so I decided to try them. Their lot didn't seem that full, so I figured they'd be able to get me an estimate quickly. Waited until 2 p.m. the next day, and I finally had to call them. Their estimate was 10% higher than the highest estimated cost on Cars.com and nearly double that of their competition down the street. The first clue should have been the fancy brand new facility and new computer system. Add to that the new locations that they're opening, and that's a lot of overhead. When I questioned the cost, they told me their cost to do the job and it was still higher than the median amount this repair should cost. In the end, we took the car to the competition down the street, who was incredibly busy, yet still promised to get me an estimate the same day. We shall see. On the plus side, they didn't charge me for the initial estimate and the time it took for them to further diagnose the problem (not that they needed to, I already told exactly what the issue was.) I didn't really have work done, so I can't speak to the quality of the work. The review is more about the prices which seemed extremely high for the area. read more

My first visit to Jeff started with me arriving 20 min late for an oil change appointment. Instead of telling me to get lost I was greeted with warmth and they managed to fit me in which I greatly appreciated. Since my car uses synthetic oil these changes are usually about $100, but they gave me a discount and it came in closer to $70 and throughout every person who interacted with me was polite, friendly and thorough in explanations without any condescension. My friend said I would not be disappointed. They are honest, upfront and fair. The price is reasonable and they always save me a few bucks if I don't need a specific service done right away. I have been taking my car to Jeff's for several years. They do such a great job, are reasonable and they NEVER try to upsell you. My Nissan dealer had told me I needed a new engine in my 2004 Murano. I took it to Jeff's and they found a leak in a gasket in the front of the engine. Total repair cost $347. They are AAA Certified and you can trust them. They are honest and reasonably priced.
