I contacted Picket Fence because I was looking for cut Obake anthuriums for my client since I was right in Kailua. I was floored when Sadie informed me they were $12+ PER flower!!! That fricken ridiculous! Granted, Picket Fence does make beautiful floral arrangements, but seriously, $12+ each for cut flowers?!?! I usually purchase 9 or 10 cut anthuriums so I'll just continue to go to Rain Forest Florist which charges a little more than $5 - $6+ for the same Obake anthurium. That's 1/2 off! AND, their floral arrangements are to die for as well. Another great place to get cut flowers is at Orchid Design Florist on Kuulei Road. Sorry Picket Fence, you're too rich for my blood. read more

The women there helped me make the most beautiful small arrangements using ginger flowers, birds of paradise, and anthuriums that they helped me pair with monstera and tea leaves to form really pretty bouquets. Picked up on time, but a little scary, heart-stopping with the scramble as they hunted for the order. Ordered 8 small vases of flowers for school administrative staff who are on the daily front lines. In a high-stress school environment, they keep things humming & don't often get their due credit. FYI it's a $20/minimum per vase & payment is required upfront. I was of course hoping for a little kamaaina or volume discount. The store is clean & COVID-friendly. I and members of my family have used Picket Fence Florist for years. I just wanted to take a minute right now to give them a huge pat on the back. Today was the day before Mothers Day, and they must be very busy, but that didn't keep them from making an accurate delivery of the bouquet given to me by my 2 children. Here's what happened-- I was away from home, so they called me to ask which house was mine on our property: the front or back house. I told them the back house...but they said they had guessed wrong, and had already delivered my Mothers Day gift to the front house. This is TRUE ALOHA Spirit at its FINEST. So, I'd followed "Aunty" Judy's advice & I'm SO VERY GRATEFUL that I did. Miss Sadie, from Picket Fence Florìsts, not only assisted me with my order. Their colors are Burgundy & Gold. When she'd sent me the picture of the arrangement when they were done, I got goosebumps! They'd done an AMAZING job! TRULY PASSIONATE ARTISTS! I just told Sadie what my favorite flowers were, looked through several photo examples and gave her an idea of the look I wanted. It's like she read my mind because it was exactly as I imagined. My mom recently passed away and I ordered a pikake lei for her inurnment. When I went to pick it up, Sadie was genuinely so apologetic that the pikake was not up to standards. The buds were mostly already opened, but the beautiful aroma was still strong. This was on a saturday (they are closed on sundays) and the inurnment wasn't until monday morning. She offered me beautiful pakalana instead and I was happy to accept the substitution, as I didn't think the pikake would last through the weekend. To my surprise, as I was checking out, she presented me with the pikake lei wrapped as a gift to my mom. She said "please let your mom enjoy the fragrance over this weekend". Ordered a beautiful blue bouquet for my grandpas birthday and to place at his gravesite. First time I called the lady that I spoke to was very nice and helpful. When I called again to see if my order would be ready by a certain time the man was helpful. When I went to pick up my bouquet the white lady wasn't too friendly and didn't seem like she wanted to meet me half way so I could grab my flowers. I had 2 babies in the car and was by myself so I didn't want to leave them and there were no parking stalls right in front of the store.
