Brides, a word of caution. I really hate that I have to write this, but I wish someone had warned me--so I'm sharing in hopes of helping someone else. I unfortunately cannot recommend working with Pamakane aka @ocean_dreamerr for your wedding florals. Despite having a prior positive experience with her during our babymoon and being a longtime admirer of her work this second experience has been incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. After radio silence when trying to get a confirmation and a quote for our 5/20 wedding, I was ghosted--no replies, while she was still actively posting on Instagram. I finally received a one-line cancellation after having to message her multiple timeses just 10 days before I needed the flowers, leaving me scrambling to make other arrangements last minute in the middle of graduation season. Planning a wedding is already stressful enough, and it's heartbreaking when someone you once admired lets you down like this. What makes it even more disappointing is that I didn't see her two-star Yelp reviews until after the fact--which is such a shame, because her work is truly gorgeous. Honestly, if I could leave zero stars, I would. Everything the negative reviews and local friends and family said about her is absolutely true. Despite the warnings, I decided to give her a chance, which I now deeply regret. She requested the full payment upfront instead of a deposit, which should have been a major red flag. Most professionals do not take advantage of you in that way and only require a deposit to hold your spot. I had planned a trip to Hawaii for a photo shoot with my firstborn daughter for Mother's Day, coinciding with her first birthday at the end of the month. The photos were meant to be printed for her first birthday and be a part of her baby book. Due to bad weather and flooding, we had to cancel and she promised to reimburse us. Despite numerous texts and attempts to contact her, she never returned our money. Instead, she flaunted her lavish lifestyle and fancy events, including her older daughter's birthday, which I suspect she funded with our money, all over her social media. As a first-time mother, these photos meant so much to me. I'm just a single mother on disability and she took advantage of us for her own selfish benefit. $575 dollars! That money could have been used for my daughter's 1st birthday. The times are very hard these days and I still have yet to receive any response or reimbursement from her as promised. Last year on my birthday, my favorite lei maker was off island and not able to make my lei. I had seen Ocean Dreamer's gorgeous leis on Instagram and sent her a message with a screenshot of a lei from her page and asked if she could make it for my birthday. She agreed so I sent her the payment and we arranged the pick-up date. A few days before the pick-up date, I messaged her and asked which time I should come. She responded by asking what kind of lei I would like. This was extremely confusing because just a few messages above was the picture that I had shared with her from our original chat where I sent her a picture from her page. I resent the picture within the same chat and she responded with a time frame to come. When I picked up the lei on that day, she didn't even make eye contact. She presented the lei and it looked super basic and not as gorgeous as the IG photo. She made several substitutions and the blue jade was purple (for those who don't know blue jade turns purple when it is dying). This bothered me because 1) The inspo picture was her own lei. If I had asked another lei maker to make it, I can see why it wouldn't look exactly the same. There is no reason why she couldn't re-create her own lei 2) She didn't even acknowledge that the blue jade was dying or that she had made other substitutions to cause it to not look like the picture. I didn't ask for a partial refund, but in hindsight, I wish I would have. It was an extremely disappointing experience. There are so many other professional lei makers on this island that I do not recommend her under any circumstance. read more

This person cancelled on me the day before my wedding. I had reached out in April, wedding was Dec 29. She said to get back to her closer to the wedding. I did. She said to DM her the day before my wedding to confirm (wow, ok), I did. Then she told me she could not help me (see screenshot attached). After speaking with my hair stylist and photographer, it sounds like that is her reputation. You can have a beautiful Instagram and still be a shit businessperson. read more

My Haku crown was incredible that Pamakene made me. In fact, I plan to order one every time I visit the island. I wish I had time to do a class because I have bought crowns before and they didn't compare. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. It's very hard for me to believe anyone has had a bad experience working with Ocean Dreamer Floral. I'm not saying the previous reviews are lies, I'm just saying that my experience with Pamakane was honestly incredible. She created my wedding haku lei and bouquet, my husband's maile lei, and our centerpieces. Her stunning art truly made our special day better than we could've ever imagined. We planned for a very casual wedding, but her florals made me feel so elegant, and they made the reception look so classy. I was very specific with the color and style I wanted, and she really delivered! She is not only amazing at what she does, she is also a beautiful soul and great person to work with! I would not recommend using this company for any event that's important to you. The photos of all the work they've done is beautiful, however, they lack communication. They were supposed to make a haku lei and bouquet for my small wedding. They informed me that I wouldn't need to pay for the invoice until a little before my wedding because it was such a small order. I tried to call them and email them but they never responded. In the end, the company who made my husbands maile lei and table top flowers made me a beautiful bouquet but was unable to make me a haku lei on such short notice. AFTER my wedding, Ocean Dreamers emailed me and told me their account was hacked. I'm extremely disappointed because an "instafamous" woman was there the same weekend as my wedding and somehow she got a haku lei... I guess a wedding isn't priority to them. read more

Flowers I received were dead and dying. I spoke with the owner on the phone and she said that she would refund my money. At this point I had already ordered a new bouquet as I no longer trusted her services. She later went back on what she had agreed to and tried to give me another bouquet. Unfortunately by the time she did this is was well into the day and there was no way this would be able to work. I had a horrible experience and would not recommend her. she is hard to get ahold of once the order is placed and she made my day less pleasurable. If you do decide to go with her I would not pay until services are rendered. I do recommend the NEX florists. They were able to make a beautiful bouquet in minuets for a fantastically reasonable price. I can only imagine what they could do if ordered in advance. read more
