We had an event at Crush Yard last week and the service was amazing. In particular, Alana Martinez…read morewas extremely responsive as the liaison and handled the whole night, making sure everything went well. Prior to the event we had special menu restrictions due to vegetarian and vegan attendees and she made accommodations with the menu and the prices were very fair. We had over 100 people show up and she had all the food ready and waiting when people arrived and even brought out more food when we went through the allotted amount. The bills were updated online live, and she was extremely responsive with excellent communication and reliable billing. I wanted to also give a huge shout out to Christopher, who is the lead chef and produced absolutely delicious food. Everybody was impressed with the quality of the food - especially the sliders. I thought the honey chicken sliders were amazingly delicious. The whole night turned out perfectly. This was a great event and we will definitely consider using Crush Yard in the future when we have our baseball spring break trips. Everything about it was well managed, and the facilities are fantastic. Thank you Crush Yard!!

I had a good time at Crush Yard. I came here for a singles mixer…read more I love that it's air-conditioned so I didn't die of exhaustion. They had me sign a waiver since I'd never played before. It would have been nice to get a sheet explaining the rules. Thankfully some of the people in our group already knew. I just looked for anyone who had their own paddle. I didn't get to try any of the food, but I will if I ever come back.

Don't come to the Candyland Sports Complex expecting Gum Drop Mountain or a Peppermint Forest…read more Instead you will find a comprehensive recreational complex for the residents of Longwood. Candyland Park is located in one of Longwood's older residential areas. The land was part of John Neill Searcy's original homestead grant. He also donated the land for the nearby Longwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery which abuts the park and it is where he was laid to rest. Candyland Park was named as a companion park to Longwood's former Peppermint Park. Candyland Park came to be in the early 70's as a place for a second set of baseball fields and tennis courts for the growing suburb. The Skylark subdivision was platted in 1972 and it began construction in 1973, north of the Longdale neighborhood. The City of Longwood required that five percent of the land be set aside for recreation. Candyland was chosen as the name because it went went with the already named Peppermint Park. Peppermint Park was closed and dismantled when the city built a new police station in 1985. Today Candyland Park is a 17.5-acre community park with a variety of sports and recreational amenities. There is a softball field, two minor league Babe Ruth baseball fields, a full-size Babe Ruth Baseball field, t-ball field, two practice fields, one tennis court, six pickleball courts, two full basketball courts, a futsal court, modular skate park, a BMX/Skate Pump Track, two picnic pavilions, picnic tables, and grill, and a playground. There are also bleachers, and a restroom and concession stand building. Candyland Park is a hub to bring the community together for skating, playing sports, and outdoor recreation.
