    Chicken pot pie

Can't get enough of those chicken pot pies. We got to introduce more friends to these amazingly savory pies. Perfect for two or one very hungry person. The fruit pies are amazing but nothing tops their chicken pot pies. Check out their Facebook page to tomorrow's pies and call ahead to preorder if you're particular but you really can't go wrong with any of their sweet pies. And get a pot pie for dinner before dessert.

We are from out of town and showed up at 1:00 pm on a Saturday to a closed shop. We quickly called and left a message and ordered 2 whole pies. The next day, after receiving confirmation, we arrived 15 minutes before opening! There were already 15 people in line! It took us about 20 minutes to get inside this small, but very charming pie shop! We also tacked onto our order 1 slice of the nut pie and a frozen chicken pot pie. The pot pie takes about 90 minutes to bake in the oven but was very delicious! The filling was hearty and the crust was flakey. I shared the pot pie with my husband for lunch and it really satisfied the soul! The portion was enough for the 2 of us. For dessert, we cut into the Apple White Peach pie. The topping was like a cobbler with crunchy granola topping. The crust was buttery and flakey and delicious. Such a yummy dessert!

I absolutely love this pie shop. All of their pies are fresh and delicious. The shop is very charming, the owners are wonderful and genuine people who not only deeply care about the product that they are putting out, but care for every customer that comes into their shop. They are also unapologetically themselves and I respect people like that. I have been a customer since they open and the flavors only get better. Pickles pie shop is at the top of my recommendation list and always will be.

Best chicken pot pie! Brought this home on Saturday and baked it this evening for dinner. I have tried CPP at other places but they pale in comparison to this pie! Took 1 hour 45 minutes to bake. At the end it was bubbling, dark and smelled so good. I used their pro tip to vent and let it rest for 10 minutes. Transferred the pie to my plate and off I went to savor this pie! The gravy was aromatic and I could taste the herbs, crust was crispy and flaky, chicken was succulent. Plenty of veggies and chicken inside. Thank you for putting out such a quality product.

Amazing pies! Be sure to get here before opening because they always sell out very quickly. I came here on a Friday morning, 15 mins before opening and there was already nine people in line. Online Order: They accept online ordering for whole pies only. Whole pies are $40 per. Pot Pies **All of their pot pies are served frozen. You will have to bake these at home. - Chicken Pot Pie 5/5: Savory with a flakey, buttery crust. Chicken was very plump and juicy. - French Onion Pot Pie 3/5: Great crust but it was way too sweet for me. Sweet Pies ($7 per slice) There sweet pies were so good! The crumble and crust on the pies were cooked perfectly. They were not overly sweet. I am not a huge sweets person, so this was perfect for me! - True Love 5/5 - Dutch Apple 5/5 - Mixed Berry 5/5

Ask the Community - Pickles Pie Shop

Do they have any gluten free pies?

    No. Never.

What are you current hours? Yelp lists you open Mondays, but in another answer from several months ago you guys were closed.

    No, closed on Mondays.

    Are you open Christmas day?

    No, we are closed

Hello. I'm heading to big bear for a few days and always seem to go when you're closed. Can you give me your business hours please :)?

    We’d -Sunday 10:30 am till we sellout (that’s usually between 11:30 & 12:30)

Are you open for indoor and/or outdoor dining yet, or just take away?

    Take out only

Do you offer delivery and can you order online?

    No and no.

Are they open tomorrow 12/23? If so, what time?

They probably will be, but best to call. I'm pretty certain there's an answering machine that will say. Also, if they are going to be open, and you haven't pre-ordered, there will be a limited supply of pies available. I'd show up no later than 8:15…

Are you able to call in and order whole pies a day ahead?

    Yes

Now the FOOD... those sourdough waffles!!! They were ridiculously soft and fluffy with just the right amount of flavor. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the breakfast. The bacon was amazing too--nice and crispy exactly how I like it--and the eggs were cooked just right. Everything together was simple, filling, and delicious. Sometimes you don't need a fancy brunch spot with a 45-minute wait and a $20 mimosa . Give me good waffles, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and a relaxed atmosphere and I'm happy. Definitely feels like a neighborhood favorite, and I can see why!

For years now, we have planned my annual bday trip and April getaways to Big Bear Lake with Lumberjack Cafe ensuring a spot first on every itinerary. Honestly we look forward to sitting inside or outside this cafe just as much as the actual vacation itself. What makes this place truly magical is the people. Alecia is hands-down the best server we have ever had anywhere...PERIOD. Over the years she has transitioned from a familiar face to a dear who even remembers my order (I'm going to have to start switching it up more lol). Seeing her daughter, Aleka, carry on that same legacy of amazing, warm service that makes it feel like watching family grow. The food is consistently phenomenal and mouth-watering. My absolute must-have is the chocolate chip waffle which is packed with flavor, though the eggs Benedict is a very close second (they should market that Hollandaise sauce). My husband tries a variety of dishes and every single item he orders is a home run! Because they close at 2pm it is the ultimate neighborhood breakfast spot. As mountain visitors, we sometimes worry about how our favorite local spots survive the unpredictable winter seasons and we pray for this business to prosper for decades to come. If you are a traveler visiting Big Bear, you absolutely need to eat here. It will elevate your mountain experience, and like us, you will find yourself returning every single time you come back to the area. Thank you to Alecia & the entire Lumberjack Cafe Family/Team whose hard work and heart are quite apparent in every aspect of running a beloved local establishment. Finally, a special thank you to Alecia (and this time Aleka as well), for making another trip so unforgettable!!!

When we stopped in the line was extremely long, which is great for the local businesses. The store has three unique sections. Ice cream, candy, chocolate, gummy, worms, etc., and caramel apples. I'm not sure if the employee was happy with us, but we ordered from every section. It almost seemed like he wanted us to go back and get in line to order from a new section but we didn't. I had peanut butter and chocolate on a cake cone that was outstanding. The wife had chocolate chip on a sugar cone and she also enjoy it. The grandkids had a variety of different flavors and I have to assume they enjoyed it because there was none left. The daughter ordered a caramel apple with some topping on it that she thoroughly enjoyed. She also ordered an extra one that was sliced that she shared with all of us. It had caramel and nuts on it. Very tasty. We also ordered different chili, flavored gummy worms and gummy rings. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. In addition, had to try out the chocolates.
