My husband and I have been coming to Pickles since 2020, and we truly cannot recommend it enough! Does parking present a challenge? Yes. Do they sometimes run out of what we want? Also yes. Is it the best damn pie, making those little cons not even cross our minds? Absolutely. The atmosphere and even waiting in line are somehow part of the fun. We've always ended up making friends with our fellow pie-line buddies, and then we're rewarded with what might just be the best pie of our lives. So we decided to stop in here again. It had been five years since our last visit. I am super glad I stopped in. I had the opportunity to visit with Mrs. Pickles and she was just a sweet gem. Although we got there at 11:30 and they had already sold out of all of their full pies and pot pies. They did have a good selection of some sliced pies left. So we ordered a couple slices of blueberry and thyme pie. Wow! What an outstanding pie great texture outstanding taste. It was simply amazing. Mrs. Pickles was very friendly and took time to explain the ordering process how we can call in orders and things like that. I am so glad we came in here and gave it another shot. If you are driving by this little place that looks like out of a storybook stop in you'll be glad you did there. Remember to lineup an hour before they open to get your best selection. Also, while you're there, walk around and look at the amazing job, they did outside the restaurant of planting some sustainable food. They did a wonderful job with their espalier apple tree they started along one side of the building. In addition, it looks like they have a fabulous looking raised bed garden that they've got started. Also, is your walking in? We are from out of town and showed up at 1:00 pm on a Saturday to a closed shop. We quickly called and left a message and ordered 2 whole pies. The next day, after receiving confirmation, we arrived 15 minutes before opening! There were already 15 people in line! It took us about 20 minutes to get inside this small, but very charming pie shop! We also tacked onto our order 1 slice of the nut pie and a frozen chicken pot pie. The pot pie takes about 90 minutes to bake in the oven but was very delicious! The filling was hearty and the crust was flakey. I shared the pot pie with my husband for lunch and it really satisfied the soul! The portion was enough for the 2 of us. For dessert, we cut into the Apple White Peach pie. After reading all the negative Yelp reviews and reading the owners very unprofessional, ghastly responses to those reviews, I would not recommend this business for lack of selection and rude customer service. The owner's responses to customers is obnoxious. After I posted this review, the business owner Samuel replied very brash. What terrible public relations and the utmost of unprofessional insulting customers on the internet. Read the 1 star reviews and the owners replies, it's nauseating that someone like this even works with the public in today's competitive marketplace. What a complainer he is and replies to me that he works 18 hours a day, but the shop is only open 10:30-2. The owner is just inappropriate and he boasts he has been in the hospitality business for years--although, he's not very hospitable. I also noticed his comments mentioning several times (and they promote in their advertising) that they cook with "love." Ha! Ha! Ha! I wouldn't go here again to experience Pickles Pie Shop's kind of hospitality, the owner's behavior is juvenile and appalling. Best chicken pot pie! Brought this home on Saturday and baked it this evening for dinner. I have tried CPP at other places but they pale in comparison to this pie! Took 1 hour 45 minutes to bake. At the end it was bubbling, dark and smelled so good. I used their pro tip to vent and let it rest for 10 minutes. Transferred the pie to my plate and off I went to savor this pie! The gravy was aromatic and I could taste the herbs, crust was crispy and flaky, chicken was succulent. Plenty of veggies and chicken inside. I sincerely apologize because I cannot for the life of me remember which pies we bought, but they were so delicious that we ate them all in one sitting. I believe we got two pies that were two different berry mixes among other things. My husband wolfed both down because he ate one and loved it so much that he had to eat the other one. Mind you, my husband has grown up eating pies his whole life. His grandma used to make them from scratch all the time when she was still alive. So pies are a very sentimental and favorite food of his. I got the chicken pot pie, absolutely delicious. I'm obsessed with chicken pot pies and this one super hit the spot. Omg! Finally tried this place up the street from my house. We got there by 10:15a (15min before opening) and were able to get our picks of slices. Pretty good for Easter weekend. Be prepared to wait and don't expect to come in and out. One day we showed up right when they opened and there was a line and 2 of the berry pies were sold out! We did try the mixed berry, which was more on the tarty side. Our favorites were salted honey pot custard, pickle's key lime, dutch apple, and chocolate cookie crumble cream! Do you like pies? Do you like lines? Well, if you answered "yes" to both questions, Pickles is definitely for you. And even if you don't like lines, if you like pies from Pickles, well, get ready to stand in line. No pickle pies here, fortunately or unfortunately, but these are some extraordinary pies, both sweet and savory. Need to know: call a day ahead and pick up your pies the following day. These guys sell out their pies. At least 20 or 30 people--all of whom stood in line for an hour or so--were turned away BY NOON on the day of our visit because they had not ordered ahead. So use that device in your hand for what it was born to do: call a day ahead or be prepared to be very disappointed. Also: whether you called ahead or not, you must stand in the crazy long line that extends into the parking lot. Walk-ins and those who ordered ahead all stand in the same line. That's the way it goes, folks. We tried the caramel pumpkin pie and it was spiced perfectly and not too sweet. The crust looked hard and boring but it was delectable. This was a very, very good pie. We also tried the chicken pot pie and the Humble (French onion soup) pie. Both had an amazing crust. They were both fantastic. The Humble one is very unique and tastes just like French onion soup. They are also very large and shareable. These pies are pricey and you must stand in a long line to get them. And they are absolutely worth the price and the effort. Delicious. read more

ARRIVE EARLY if you want pie! I stopped by the shop at noon on a Saturday, only 1.5 hours after Pickles opened at 10:30am, and there were only 2 pieces of pie left! Luckily the couple in front of me only ordered one, so I was able to get the last piece of the day. Bourbon Pear would not have been my top choice, but it was amazing! The bourbon flavor shined through without being overbearing, and the pears were the perfect compliment. This may be my go-to flavor now! I would highly recommend going here! I came at open and got the Dutch apple, farmers basket, and the Cherry apple Pie. I really enjoyed all of the pie, the flavors were great and it was nice knowing that everything was fresh. The store is a bit small and the line can be a bit longer as they only have 2 workers at the store, but I must say it is worth it. Parking can be a bit tough to find and I saw people park in all sorts of ways but it is definitely doable. I think a lot of people do pre-order but I did not research how. I think they do have a facebook page where you can see their pies for the next day, which is how I know right away what I wanted. They do sell out quite quickly so if you get there, they might not have all the pies that you want. The store's ambiance itself was quite nice too.
