The place has great food, fantastic service, and the menu is amazing. However, I have had to stop going because they no longer carry gluten-free bread (my son has an allergy). They carried it at one time, but they cut back - I can only speculate that not enough people asked for it. For a brunch/lunch place to not offer gluten-free bread is just.....lazy. Again, I love this place, but if they're not going to cater to all their customers' allergies, then I will find my next brunch place. read more

We don't have many delis in the area, so this is about as good as it gets, which isn't saying much - bread was out of a bag, and pickles seemed store bought. Slaw, however, was quite good. The establishment is bigger on the inside than it looks. Parking is easy since it's in a shopping plaza and it was packed the day we went. I got a chicken Caesar wrap that wasn't special and very ordinary. The sandwich my boyfriend got with pastrami was amazing and stuffed to the brim. Stopped in for a quick lunch. As noted on other reviews, I will go out of my way for a good boars head deli sandwich. I'm lucky that Florida is littered with restaurants like Pickles Plus. Stopped in and noticed the Italian Hoagie sub special on their pretty vast menu. $15 There is both inside and outside seating available, but it's a bit limited since the restaurant is in the middle of a strip mall. Looks to stay pretty crowded around lunch time, dozens of people were in and out while I dined. Service was friendly and great. Will definitely be stopping in again. read more

What a great find this place was. We were planning to get subs from Publix but luckily stumbled upon this cute joint! From the time we entered to the time we left, the servers were friendly. We felt welcomed in, and a server came right over to where we sat. Though a new server, our server was pretty efficient. We only had to ask for refills. However, our order was quickly taken and placed, and she gave great recommendations. The tuna sandwich was delicious, the clam chowder was out of this world good---really fresh and tasty. My hubby was pleased with his burger, and our additional companion loved her turkey sandwich as well. We all loved the pickles--- really fresh and tasty! Even with a stellar 5 star sandwich, the sides were a solid 1. I know the food supply is tough right now, but I know making and jarring your own pickles and frying some fresh chips would have changed my entire review. Family bike ride today and stopped here for lunch. This place was steady and busy for a Sunday lunch time. Really wanted to try the Cuban Sandburg they were out. We split a Philly and they brought it out with a generous portion of steak and chips. The tenders had a huge portion of fries. All of our food was delicious! We sat outside but the inside was quaint. I came in and ordered 2 Greek Chicken salads to go. Got home and opened the box very disappointed. some tomatoes were shriveled, lettuce had brown spots, chicken was not fresh, it was cubed and tough. Paid $37 with tax and an unhappy. We go a few times a month....always a great easy quick meal. Grilled cheese is the best you will ever have. Clam chowder is only available on Fridays but is worth the wait. The chicken noodle soup is the best I have ever had. Classic deli....getting pricier every day it seems but I guess that is the norm. read more

Storefront in a busy strip mall with tight seating inside. There are a few tables outside as well if weather is not too miserable; they are undercover. So we sat ourselves at a booth in the very back near the loo and server station. Oh: Christmas decor on walls and Christmas music on the radio! I almost walked out just based on that!! It ain't even Thanksgiving yet!!!! I asked why they're doing that and it's the only the owner wants played. Well guess what? I'm not a grinch but I'm not Clark Griswold either, and NO: Rusty is NOT still in the Navy either! First server who interacted with us was a loud, short spitfire of a girl with the most annoying, obnoxious laugh. You could hear her yammer and hyena holler from a half mile away if the wind was right. Then another waitress, a skinny blond older lady with a definite NY/NJ accent, took over. She was just so so too. Queen Bee decided on their daily special salad, which is called Jay's Fried Chicken Salad. Oddly enough, it was a salad topped with chopped-up fried chicken. It had the usual lettuce, cherry tomatoes, plus pepperoncini, hard boiled egg and a few other items. I had the Pickles Favorite...it's actually a triple decker with steamed pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, Russian and cole slaw. My bread choice was rye: as a true NYC boy, I sure as hell wasn't gonna get it on cinnamon raisin or whole wheat, ya know. Both my sandwich and the Queen Bee's salad were mediocre to mildly OK at best. My sandwich came with a pickle (so-so) and choice of pasta or potato salad or cole slaw. Potato salad is homemade, they say. It certainly tasted that way, and again, it was just okay. Mayo, a little chopped onion and red skinned taters all mixed in a bowl with not much else. Queen Bee says her fried chicken pieces were salty too. She's one who uses salt regularly so if she complained, then you know it was salty. I tasted a piece of it and I agree...too salty for me. Her salad was at least plentiful and she seemed to enjoy it otherwise. Hey: it's a salad; big deal. The rye bread that came with my sandwich certainly AIN'T the good sturdy rye I'm accustomed to in NY. This stuff could barely hold together with all the fixings contained between the three slices. Russian dressing and the barely-there slaw were both nondescript. Meats were lukewarm at best, too. I suppose one could say it was adequate. However, we only drank water and we didn't do any add on or other up charge things. So with tax and tip, was this stuff worth $32? Double HELL NO!!!! I do like to try different spots, but this pickle definitely left a half-sour and none-too-kosher aftertaste, from the nondescript service to the nondescript food all the way to the joint as a whole. read more

Stopped by after church with my wife, daughter and granddaughter who is a true pickle lover (her fast food burger request is always a "handful of pickles") and was excited by the name. The place was very busy but it was pretty warm inside so we picked a table outside. Apparently short on help since several empty tables were uncleared. So I moved dishes and grabbed a cloth from nearby and wiped the table. Shortly our server came and finished clearing the table as she apologized. Drinks were ordered and, since we appropriated a couple menus, we were ready to order. Starting with fried pickles of course and a shared bowl of Matzah Ball Soup. We also decided to share plates so Burger for wife & granddaughter and Pastrami on Rye with Swiss and hot mustard for daughter and I. A bit later fried pickles and soup came. Pickles were breaded and fried in spears, not pickles chips I had in the past. They were ok, not my cup of tea but they were all eaten. The Matzah Ball soup was ok, not the best I've had, very little chicken, all mine since the others did not like it. Awhile later our meals came. Burger and fries came and were well received. Sharing generally meant also sharing sides but we were pleasantly surprised when our server, Andrea (who was fantastic) brought divided plates, each with a full side. Our Pastrami was very disappointing. On Rye, yes, but the rest not so good. The small amount of meat was actually overshadowed by the bread, plus no cheese. With poor Andrea bustling to keep up we decided to just eat it, although we mentioned it when we asked for check. Our extra fee for sharing was waived, probably for the error but we won't be back. Five stars for Andrea who did a fantastic job under difficult circumstances but only three stars for Pickles. read more

Jamming for lunch on a Tuesday! And despite being busy this single senior got quick service and a smile. Sit anywhere they said. With only one seat available I was happy! The menu has several special house items but I settled for a standard old fashioned patty melt. It was perfect, juicy and delicious, and came with a side and a pickle. Awesome!! read more

We went to Pickles Plus for breakfast today. It was mostly empty so we had our choice ot seats. I ordered the Slammin' Joe breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon and two pancakes. It was OK with one exception. You had to cut the pancakes with a knife, a fork could not get through the outer skin. They were fluffy once you get through the fried outside. Also their syrup was not maple, high fructose corn syrup. My wife got the eggs Benedict which was also OK. We may try the corned beef for lunch next time. read more

I love this place and all who work therein! Pickles Plus offers every type of sandwich and any deviation as to bread type, tomato, etc and you always get chips and 1/4 dill pickle! The staff is wonderful. They have wine and beer so you can take lunch up a notch. There's always specials listed on the chalkboard and I've never been able to finish my meal which translates into generous portions. There's plenty of tables and outside tables for those who prefer open air. Since it is located in a shopping center, there's plenty of parking so there you go...no negatives!!! Called to place a takeout order. I got through the automated system and a lady answered and quickly placed me on hold. I waited for 5+ minutes. I called a 2nd time thinking they forgot but was on placed on hold again for 5+ minutes by the same lady. I went back to Yelp and read the reviews from fellow Yelpers and noticed lots of rude behavior from the staff. Oh well, good thing Publix subs is in the same plaza. Go to Publix for better food, cheaper prices, and overall better customer service. read more

Severely disappointed.... I have been to Pickles Plus many times in my life and have always considered it a decent local place for lunch with staff that usually treats you like family... until today . My husband called to place a simple order with two sandwiches, however they were out of multiple items listed on their menu that we were attempting to order. The girl taking the order was quite rude and quickly got impatient with my husband who needed help navigating the options they did have in stock and she ended up hanging up on him. Trying to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, he showed up to the restaurant to place the order in person instead of over the phone. He ordered the necessary substitution items based on what was in stock and paid with no issue but then then over heard the cook complaining about the order immediately after... which upon arriving home was made sloppily and incorrectly anyways. It is such a disappointment that the service and quality have become such a depravity in this way as it is somewhere we enjoyed going in the past. Our experience today was a complete and unnecessary turn off and we will no longer be patrons here in the future. read more

I stopped here after having a new crown placed in my mouth. I'd wanted Anthony's Pizza, but I was there at 11:00 am, and they didn't open until 11:30, so I took a chance on Pickles Plus. I'm glad I did. I was seated immediately and the waitress came over asking me what I'd like to drink. I ordered a Diet Coke. After a few minutes she came over and I asked for a few suggestions. She told me her favorties and told me the specials of the day. I thanked her and then placed an order for her favorite, the Cuban, but instead of chips, I upgraded to the potato salad. I received a HUGE sandwich, on what looked like a half a loaf of pressed cuban bread. Stuffed with all the proper toppings, cut in half, with a huge helping of some of the best tasting potato salad I've ever had. Needless to say, I left with half the sandwich to go. The cuban is phenomenal! I'll be back, that's for certain. Oh, and as I was checking out, they had these HUGE brownies for $3.00 you can bet I bought one for snacking later. SO GOOD! read more

Great service but for a vegetarian eater, this place does not have enough options. This was disappointing as they have a huge variety of meat sandwiches but less than 4 choices for vegetarians. I chose the veggie wrap which is basically mushroom/vegetables/ plus cheese and avocado (these add ons are extra) in a flour tortilla. It comes with a side of chips. Food came out fast and one bite in my wrap, my tortilla was breaking apart due to it being super soggy. There were hardly any mushrooms and the vegetables were not seasoned at all. It was so bland and the fact it was dripping oil every time I picked it up, was disappointing. See picture. I hardly finished it. To Owners- Please take this item off the menu and instead offer more varieties of a vegetarian sandwich. read more
