Just had a late lunch - a delicious, custom-crafted, panini-pressed pastrami wrap and Greek "side"/shared salad - at Frankie's Deli: Clearwater, on Sunset Point & Hercules. Tracy, the co-owner, skillfully made the perfect wrap (including honey mustard dressing and the works!) and super-fresh & crispy Greek salad. She is very personable, witty and popular with the locals, who greet her by name and make themselves comfortable in her sandwich shop. So glad we discovered this local gem. We'll be back!!! I highly recommend you give them a try. You'll be GLAD you did...

What we got. Missing half of the order.

Ordered online 4 subs and sides of potato salad through Door Dash. The bill was $75 thanks to door dash fees! The driver had to wait a long time, took over an hour and a half to get 2.4 miles delivery. I believe the driver's wait time cause I have had to wait a long time every time I've gone in. This used to be such a great place about 15 years ago and had a lot of regular customers. I hate to see it declining and hopefully it will get a shot to improve back to the good ole days.

Great spot for a quick lunch. This place is right out of upstate New York and you can tell by the abundance of Frank Sinatra and Rat Pack decor. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and personable and they make a pretty good sandwich. I had the Cuban. It was well pressed and crispy. Could have used a little more mustard but otherwise it was delicious. Service was fast and the atmosphere, while basic, was comfortable.

    Spicy Italian pressed. Average.

I hate to do it but I have to knock these guys down a notch. This will be my one and only with them and believe me I do not like giving 1-2 stars however observations from today must go on all the time. A 2 to me is below average and this was. Inside decor I really could care less about for a "deli" so the mafia posters, old tv, dusty wall near the Coke machine and pink tables did not deduct a point. When I entered there was one customer the owner was bantering with (the only customer) After a few minutes of not being acknowledged I finally realized where a menu was which was taped to the counter. I ordered a pressed Italian steamroller. Got my money out and he never said another word. Never took my money. Never told me to take a seat. Guessing they would start my sub and get the money I decided I guess you pay after and sat down. A few more minutes went by and a nice lady ( believe the owners wife ) provided me said sub. If the sub did not have the oil lettuce banana peppers etc it would have been so dried out that you would not have been able to bite through the bread. Luckily the large amount of oil rehydrated half of the crouton I was biting into. Since there was never mention or offer of a drink you can imagine it was not an enjoyable experience. They purchase boars head brand meats like most local delis bread was not good for a press it should have been wrapped in foil to keep hydrated absolutely nothing special about this sub that one could not make in their own oven much better. While half way through I was about to get up and nine fireman (thank you for your service) came in. So now I have to wait for these guys to order before I can pay. It's not like I wanted to start a tab and possibly order another sub. This is beyond aggravating. Then as I am waiting to pay the owner shouts to the lady what did this guy get so he knows how much to charge me? You took my order. Ring me up right then. Or ask me what I ordered. Trust me I am not trying to sneak one by the local sub shop. A few other observations. A couple came in after me one ordered a tuna sub. She was asked if she could wait or order something different as they did not make the tuna yet. Glad to see they make their own but it is 11:55 and you service a lunch crowd. Of the nine fireman they ordered 4 Cubans and 5 steamrollers. Took the owner a few extra minutes to figure that out before I was allowed to finally get up and pay. They seem to have a following. Seem to get a lot of call aheads. So I am not trying to shut the place down I just did it enjoy one bit of my experience perhaps someone else will have a different one but I am not willing to try a second shot.

Everything made to order, bread is always fresh, and fantastic lunch meats. Love the roast beef on a toasted roll. Small sandwich shop, decent amount of seating, they also deliver. Lunch is always entertaining here! :)

Half of the sanfriscan I murdered the other half, delicious!!

We were seated as soon as we arrived, and throughout our visit the service was really good. My friend and I were having a very hard time deciding, and when we asked the server, she flat out told us that the two things we were torn between were awesome and we should order both and split them. We got the shrimp and grits and the lobster Benedict. On their own, the grits weren't anything special, although they were texturally great. Now when you add the shrimp and gravy . . . This dish is a whole other deal. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the gravy was super well balances. It had the perfect level of spice. The lobster Benedict had a perfectly poached egg, and it worked so well. The mornay sauce was a lovely touch. I'd definitely order it again, but I would also definitely order the shrimp again. Long story short, our server was right, they were both amazing. I also got a standard Bloody Mary, which was solid. I would definitely go back to this place. It's got an upbeat, family friendly atmosphere, and I think it's a great spot for locals and out of towners alike. It's also well priced. I'd also love to try their beignets or French toast next time. They've also got a huge lunch/dinner menu that I'd definitely want to try if I were in town for longer.

Ambience was like your regular breakfast place or diner, but definitely family friendly. We were there with our 8 month old baby boy and felt comfortable. Food tasted pretty okay, we ordered coconut shrimp, fish n chips and chicken tacos for brunch! The fish was a little undercooked and the batter was still a bit wet inside. Other items were not bad. For drinks, I ordered their popular pomegranate mimosa which came really flat (no bubblies) and in a wine glass! I sent it back and got a mojito instead - which tasted a lot better! Additionally, we were not aware the breakfast menu closes at 12 pm and we were already seated, so kind of felt obligated to order from the lunch menu at around 12.05 pm! It was too early for a sea food lunch for us! We saw the table next to us had ordered breakfast just a few minutes before us but we were denied because it was already past noon. Overall a pretty average experience. I was expecting a little more authentic experience but turned out to be just like your local diner.

We sat outside during our meal and the ambiance and feel of the restaurant was very welcoming! As for entrees, I ordered the Chicken Gyro Platter which was very well made, seasoned perfectly, and presented very well. The chicken was very well seasoned along with it being perfectly cooked, and the Rice Pilaf was the same. Overall nothing I would change about this dish and I would recommend ordering it. Next, one of the people in my party ordered the Chicken Gyro Salad which they loved. Same as my dish, the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was also mentioned that the lettuce was extremely fresh which is always great to see. The last two members of our party ordered the Beef/Lamb Gyro Salad which they loved. Again the meet was cooked very well and the lettuce was extremely fresh and overall they both loved their meal. (We did also order the Baklava for dessert which was fantastic as well) To finish, our service was top tier and our server Tayfun was extremely attentive throughout our entire dining experience and was very friendly! Amazing 10/10 dining experience and would most definitely come here again and recommend to others!

We sat outside on the water and it was a little cool but a light jacket made it comfortable. It was a beautiful day! We started with Turkish Coffee, which was delicious! We have no idea how to "read the coffee grounds" HAHA but I can tell you mine looked like a duck and a crooked United States, if that helps anyones premonitions, LOL. We ordered the babaganouj appetizer, which was DELICIOUS!! It comes with pita, but for me, being gluten intolerant I asked for some vegetable. Waiter offered cucumber, but he only gave me 3 tiny pieces....so sad. Whatever, I wasnt going to let it go to waste so I just ate it with a fork. However I would suggest offering a proper portion of sliced cucumbers for your Gluten Free patrons, as a courtesy. I ordered the gluten free Falafel Salad and my son ordered the Yogurt Kebab. Both were very enjoyable! My falafels were moist on the inside with a crisp outer shell, my only suggestion would be to add a little Feta to the salad, wouldve been more interesting than pkind of plain and redundant--especially for just under $20. My son enjoyed his dish, even using the pita to scoop it up. We were so full and brought more than half home. The waiter was very kind and was generous to offer us a complimentary piece of Baklava (we had waited a bit for our food but it wasnt really a big deal--we were enjoying ourselves). Parking is a bit of a challenge because Columbia Rest and Backwaters has Valet that sort of capitalize the parking area-so plan ahead for that. We went at 2pm so it wasnt too difficult but I would guess dinner might be a challenge unless you use their Valet services--but Im only guessing. The restaurant is cute inside, and I saw they had a wine cooler. I think we'll go again and order a bunch of different appetizers and try some Turkish wine. I highly recommend trying Mio's!
