    Country Fried Steak breakfast
    Charlie G.

Went for a walk this morning at John Chesnut Sr. Park with fellow Yelper Dave, and on the way home, decided to get some breakfast. I had East Lake Cafe on my "want to go" list... so stopped by. Nice little cafe... lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Staff is friendly and very attentive. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Gravy, two eggs over medium, hashbrowns (Crispy) and sourdough toast. Pretty sure the country fried steak was pre-breaded, cooked from frozen (Tyson? Seems like it is impossible to find these made fresh anymore), Gravy was ok... maybe canned, not sure. Hashbrowns.. also probably from frozen. Eggs were perfect, and very good. Sourdough toast was ok. I can't blame a restaurant for doing things the easy way, and saving money... but I do miss the "old days" when frozen was not so prevalent.

Waitress was very nice. We sat outside because it was a lovely day. I got the buffalo chicken wrap. I did enjoy it. I just thought it was a little weird that they served it with a spinach wrap. I would've preferred a plain one. I didn't know that was an option or that it was coming with spinach so that would be good to know in the future cause I would definitely have preferred a different wrap, but the onion rings were delicious. Very crisp All in all a good lunch spot would recommend.

My second visit and the wait staff is so friendly. I ordered the egg deluxe. Two eggs scrambled soft, bacon, hashbrowns with onions and rye toast.

    Patty Melt on Texas Rye

I went to East Lake Cafe in Palm Harbor today and had one of the thickest, juiciest patty melts ever. It's in the details: carmelized onions...melted swiss...Texas rye... Mhmm, they did it right. And if this tells you anything, I intentionally only ate half of it so I'd get to box it up and have it again later. So good! For anyone reading this that hasn't been yet, please give them a try the next time you're in their area. I'm glad I did!

My husband and I are visiting a friend around the corner and decided to take a walk and stop by East Lake Cafe on a Saturday morning. We easily got a table outside as it was a beautiful day! Our server was very nice. We got the crab eggs benedict and the BYO bfast sandwich. Both really good!

A weekly special: Grilled Cheese Burger

I love this place! I've been coming for a while now, and the food is always great! One of the things that stands out is the Kahwa coffee they serve... one of my favorite roasters in the area. Great selection for both breakfast and lunch and a weekly special menu. The staff are some of the best in the area. They also have outdoor seating, so you can bring your dog! Today is National Cheeseburger Day, so I went with the Grilled Cheese Burger! 2 grilled cheese sandwiches of your choice on sourdough, with an 8 Oz burger in the middle!

I really like this cafe, and I was happy that a friend met me here on Friday, 6/3/22, for lunch. It was her first time, and my umpteenth time. Friends and I frequented the East Lake Cafe at least once a month before CoVid, and I hope to resume that schedule, especially since outside seating is available. In Friday the weather was warm, but we sat under an umbrella, and enjoyed the occasional breezes. Instead of my regular egg etc. breakfast, I ordered the special - 3 brioche waffles with whipped cream, strawberries and blueberries. It was delicious! My friend had the Eggs Benedict, and she too enjoyed her meal. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. She took good care of us. I'm looking forward to returning soon!

This place felt like a neighborhood favorite. Everyone knew eachother treated us like family. The food portions are huge! We ordered salad and a turkey sandwich. They were both delicious and super filling.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on the way out of town, arrived around 8:30 and there was practically no one in the restaurant. Makes sense on a holiday morning but still seemed really empty for a Sunday morning. We ordered and were served extremely quickly. Again, makes sense since no one was there. We were sitting by the kitchen and heard microwaves going off constantly - and I honestly think a lot of our food was microwaved because the potatoes and stuff were pretty mushy. The quesadilla was okay - the way it was described in the menu I thought it would have more flavor but it was pretty much just egg and tortilla with a little ham. Not all the other stuff described in the menu. Based on other reviews I feel like maybe it was just an off day but we probably wouldn't come here again when there are better options nearby.

Stopped here with my better half for a late breakfast. Watching the menus a bit closer now that we are back in Weight Watchers after a COVID pause. Close to us and recommended by our daughter, we were in the area and decided to stop by. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Lots of patio tables but a bit too chilly for me. Service was quick. Staying away from all my favorites, I checked the point counts and decided on the Greek Omelette with spinach, tomatoes and Feta cheese, plus I added jalapeños. As a side I went for Sweet Potato Fries. Oh and unbuttered whole wheat toast (but I only ate 1/2 of a slice so most points were the fries. My wife went for, as usual, a Southwest Omelette, also adding jalapeños. I guess I have influenced her over the past 50 years! Our food came quickly. My wife raved about her omelette and she had sliced tomatoes as a side. Plus she had a piece of marble toast with strawberry jam, to match my fries. My omelette was really good, my first but definitely not my last. The winner of the meal was definitely the Sweet Potato Fries! Hot, crispy outside and soft inside. And unlike others I've had in past, nice big fries. Ummmm ummm, fantastic! Great meal, great service. Definitely a spot to come check out.

As far as breakfast choices, it was a solid spot. We chose to sit outside since it was an absolutely gorgeous morning. Everything was clean and the service incredibly friendly and fast. Everyone loved their food and left probably a little too full. The only issue were my home fries were a bit under done, but everyone else's hash browns were super crispy and delicious and they were happy to share. Not a big deal at all.

Any number of dirty tables that she couldn't get to clean up because she was trying to serve, refill drinks, take orders, and gosh knows what else. One person doing it all for about 8 tables? Really? Now on to the food. Mind you, we have been patrons here for over 20 years, but have steadily watched this place go downhill. The chili arrived cold enough that the added cheese on top didn't melt. Then our meals arrived. The chicken tenders with Buffalo sauce actually looked & tasted like they had been soaked in grease. Buffalo sauce? Not sure what they heated up in the microwave to pass off as sauce, but it was separated & the consistency of water. Even my club sandwich was tasteless, with deli Turkey in place of the fresh turkey they used to serve. Very bland. Then to cap off what was already a horrible dining experience, they removed the grease-soaked chicken tenders from the bill because my husband did not eat them, but charged him $4 for the French fries because he DID eat those! Talk about classless customer service! Honestly, we have given Tiffany's the benefit of the doubt the last dozen or so times we have been there, but enough is enough. We had hoped that they would eventually right themselves again, but obviously that's not going to happen. They have now lost customers that have been dining there for over 20 years. We won't be back again....ever.
