This was my second dining experience at Pico. They were both 2 of best dinners I have ever had. Ambiance, service, food, drinks..ect. Top notch! Already looking forward to our next meal here. We traveled 4.5 hrs and would do it again next week.

We came here to wait for a reservation next door. They have a very large selection of wines and since we couldn't decide, we end up doing their recommend flight along with some snacks. We had a ceviche and their daily special with a flaky white fish as a snack. Everything was good and highly recommend if you want to sit and chat with friends.

By far, the best restaurant in Los Alamos. The menu changes and is always consistently good. The chef and owner is so creative and a craft at her work. Great price point, amazing wine and absolutely delicious food.

We made a last minute stop in Los Alamos. Pico was recommended by the hotel staff (across the street) and we were not steered wrong. Absolutely some of the best food I've had this year. The beet/goat cheese/pistachio salad was one of the best I've ever had. Every selection was perfectly prepared (and uniquely special). We could not be more impressed. Our server, Kristen, was a delight and made suggestions that did not disappoint. To top it off, the setting was spacious and well appointed. Every detail at Pico was considered and we will definitely be back.

Very nice inside. Weekday, no reservation needed imo.

Love the ambiance here and in general the service was good. Was missing bread plates to eat our fancy cornbread but oh well. I personally don't want my soft drink brought to me with the bottle. Basically no refill and I prefer on tap. Seems very specific. We ordered the beet & burrata salad. It was very good. Then had the wedge salad. Also excellent. My wife had the flight of lumin wine and disliked two out of three unfortunately but we liked that it was an option with dinner. She had the prime ribeye steak and while they said they cook it medium rare it was medium at best which was fine. I got the Wagyu burger it was said to come medium rare and I asked for medium. Well unfortunately it showed up borderline well done. It had some decent flavor but was a bit dry sadly. I am also a person who needs his lettuce , tomato and pickle but that's on me. Burger would have been quite good if there was a shred of pink. I was concerned I would get the waffle fries that I have seen in pics. Not a fan. To my joy I received some fresh hand cut fries and they were excellent! Made the burger disappointment ok. Also got the cornbread which was very good. Just give me some bread plates again. If my burger was truly medium it be giving 5 stars. It wasn't so it's gonna be 4. I think they are a 4.3 restaurant. Will return next time in town. Would rather go here than Belle.

Always a favorite place to visit, we planned our anniversary diner and we were nicely surprised by the attention given to us. Dinner and drinks were excellent, and service was great. We came on a weeknight and it was nice and quiet, had a great time.

Went here on a little vacation with my partner, and it was delicious! Ending our vacation here and after going to the other amazing local eateries, I was weary that anything would be as good, but Pico did not disappoint! Our favorites were the avocado crudo and the lemon and mushroom agnolotti! However, the burrata had some of the best strawberries I've ever had and the broccolini salad was delicious as well! We loved how everything was farm to tables and even had the farms of most of the ingredients written in the menu. This type of dedication and handpicked ingredients transpire to the taste of the food.

We made a reservation on Open Table just in case because we were VERY hungry. It is a cute place, on the smaller side and has a more modern take on seating. Some tables had couches and others were the traditional chairs/booths. After looking over the menu, we decided to order the focaccia bread, bates burger, and the mac n cheese. The focaccia bread came out with this delicious mascarpone cheese topped with honey and pepper on top. At first, we were a little worried but the blend of flavors were IMMACULATE! We contemplated ordering another one. Next the burger and mac n cheese came out. The burger was a bit dry, and it came out well done when we asked for medium (they ask how you would like it cooked when ordering). The potato wedges that come with it were very good, hot and fluffy. The Mac n cheese was the star of the show. We got the mushrooms on the side since we never had BBQed mushrooms before but they added such a complex flavor with the truffle cheese in the macaroni. We ended the night with their cookie skillet and it came with salted Carmel gelato (the menu says vanilla). She confirmed that the flavor was okay before putting the order in. Overall, we had a good night here and the view was beautiful. Side note: they have you park in the bottom lot if you are only coming for the restaurant and there is a number you call. They pick you up in the golf cart and drive you up! And they offer the same service to come back down! Thank you Alex (unless it was Ally we are arguing over your name) for such a positive energy and personality.

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

The inn leans into the old west aesthetic, but the tavern is just elegant and attractive, with leather furniture, a high vaulted ceiling, and a lot of windows. It was pleasantly bustling on a Friday night, with what seemed like a mix of hotel guests and other visitors. Los Olivos has a population that hovers around 1,000, so this restaurant, like the stagecoach stop, is there to serve travelers. Accordingly, service was first class. There was a full bar with elaborate cocktails and plenty of wine from the area. We ordered two rounds of cocktails, as we planned to drink wine all weekend, and they were all very good. The Vaquero Campfire was a refreshing mezcal drink with pink peppercorn, honey, and charred grapefruit. The Cigars & Horses was a boozy mix of bourbon, yellow chartreuse, and smoked cinnamon. Los Rancheros Vistadores was a pleasantly bitter tequila cocktail, with reposado, amaro, Aperol, and orange olive oil. And the Pinochle Punch was a smooth blend of milk-clarified rye, cognac, and orange. We ordered wines by the glass to go with our entrees, and these were both lovely, too. The Sandlands Lodi Red Table Wine and the Racines Mattei's Cuvée, a Chardonnay that must have some connection to Mattei's Tavern. The food was delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters with mignonette and lemon and Gin's tuna carpaccio, topped with scallion, radish, ginger dressing, and cold-pressed California olive oil. Then we had Mattei's house focaccia, served with cultured butter and herb oil, and the country pâté, with cherry, tarragon, and sourdough. The entrées were both excellent. The Channel Islands rockfish was beautifully cooked, served in a vibrant tomatillo sauce with hoja santa, with sides of roti, grilled avocado, and grilled lime. The Colorado lamb was tender and juicy with a nice spiced crust. It came with couscous, vadouvan, mint yogurt, onion, and dates. For dessert, we shared the affogato: vanilla ice cream, Handlebar espresso. Hard to think of a better way to wind down a big meal. We charged dinner to the room and got $100 through a hotel promotion. This covered some of our drinks. The Tavern is not a cheap restaurant, but it is a great one, well worth checking out on your visit to Los Olivos.

We had specifically chosen this restaurant because we were traveling with our dog and understood that their outdoor seating area was dog-friendly. We were told that the outdoor patio was closed for a private event. Since we had made our reservation more than a week in advance, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had notified us ahead of time so we could have made other arrangements. Unfortunately, we ended up having to leave our dog back at the hotel. To their credit, the hostess did her best to accommodate us and found us a table in the bar area near the fireplace. However, the location wasn't ideal for an anniversary dinner. Guests frequently walked and stood in front of the fireplace directly in front of our table, and at one point other patrons even sat down at our table, making what was supposed to be a romantic evening feel awkward and disrupted. The food itself was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal. Had it not been for the reservation mix-up and the restaurant's lack of proactive communication regarding the patio closure, this would likely have been a much higher-rated experience. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell short of what we expected for such a special occasion.
