I was really excited to try this new venture in the former Jolly Pumpkin space. My friend and I went for dinner and drinks, and the food was ok, but I had different expectations. I think part of it was on me, since I ordered the pepperoni pide. It was good, but FAR too much garlic for me. I should have known better. The hummus was really good though. I think I was just rushed into a decision. If I had thought about it I should have either ordered 2 or 3 of the small plates, or one of the shawarmas. We sat at the bar, which was fine. Service was good. Overall it was a perfectly adequate experience. 3/5 for this visit, but deserving of another chance since part of the disappointment was self-inflicted. read more

Pide & Stick opened at the beginning of August 2024 in the former Jolly Pumpkin space. It's the same restaurant group that manages the other Jolly Pumpkin locations as well as several other spots in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Traverse City, and more. This is a fast casual restaurant that features shawarma, kebabs, and pide (pronounced "pee-deh" - they are sort of like a Turkish "pizza"). They also have salads, a couple dessert items, and a full bar. Ordering was easy at the counter, then they bring your food out. The employee who rang us up, Malachi, was really helpful and knew the menu well to give great suggestions. I stopped in with some friends for lunch and we got the dip trio and za'atar fries to share. Those came out first, which was nice. The dip trio comes with their three dips: hummus, pink sultan (a yogurt based dip with beets), and cacik (a yogurt based dip that reminded me of tzatziki). The dips were good and fun to try. I don't think I'd need to get them again but I did like them. The pita was the dry, thinner pita bread. The za'atar fries were amazing! The fries were crispy and sprinkled with feta, toum (garlic sauce), lemon, and of course, za'atar (a middle eastern spice blend). I would definitely get these again as a shared plate. Our food came out shortly after and everything looked so good. I got the Greek salad + chicken and Nate got the chicken shawarma. Our friends also got the goat cheese pide. The salad was huge, super fresh, and so delicious. I loved the addition of the chicken. I did notice full cloves of garlic in the salad - I LOVE garlic so ate them right up, but some people might not love that. I had leftovers because this salad was so giant. The chicken shawarma was tasty, saucy, and not dry at all! I was really worried about it being dry because that can definitely be the case sometimes. Not this time! I'd want to try the lamb next. I also had a bite of the goat cheese pide which was incredible - light and flaky crust with plenty of cheese. Pizza lovers must try this. (It's not pizza, but it gives pizza vibes.) They are currently open for lunch and have daily happy hour at Pide & Stick. I thought the prices were reasonable for the portions. I can't wait to go back and try more food. read more

I had the opportunity to try out Pide & Stick last week! When you walk in, there is a counter my a posted menu to order. Water and silverware are self serve. I ordered the Chicken Pide which was very similar to a small pizza or flatbread almost with the bread and cheese and toppings. This chicken one in particular tasted great with the toum. The toum is very garlicky! Which I like! So take note if you aren't a garlic person to skip the toum :) My bf ordered the Chicken Shawarma. He liked it but did mention the chicken was a bit dry. For dessert, I tried the Künefe. If you love pistachios you should definitely try this out! It was delicious and unique to me since I've never had anything like that before. They have baklava too which I'll probably try next time. As it's their first week opening, I'll probably give it another try! Would love to see what the sticks are like! read more

I ordered delivery from here and it was incredibly tasty. I had some issues with delivery (they forgot a couple of my items) but this has not impacted my rating because I think it was the delivery service at fault. I got a grain bowl, a greek salad, and lentil soup. all were flavorful and tasty, though the grain bowl with hummus stood out. The hummus was smooth, garlicky, and lemony. The lentil soup is tomato-based, which is not my preferred, but it was tasty! The acidity was lovely and it was a decent size. This is a great fast casual option for people who are looking for bigger portions and vegetable forward options. read more

I finally tried this fairly new place and I'm impressed! It was spacious inside with plenty of seating room including tables for big groups. You walk up to order, take a number and pick your table. The food came out fast too! I got the chicken pide and za'atar fries and it was packed with flavor. The pide was very filling so I was able to have leftovers. Decided to try out this new place after I heard commercial on the radio. It is very apparent that they are still having growing pains when it comes to being efficient and figuring out where to order. When we walked in, the gentleman that greeted us told us that we had to order at the bar. So we went to the bar and the bartender told us that we had to go back to the front and order from the gentleman greeted us. He was unaware that he was the order taker. Nevertheless, he took our order, and our food was delivered fairly quickly. We had the chicken Shawarma as well as the lamb Shawarma and we also had the salad and the zaatar fries. Our server/bartender was very pleasant and the food was excellent. The lamb was very flavorful and the zaatar fries were a nice touch, but I think the garlic overwhelmed the flavor of the zaatar. We had two alcoholic beverages, and I thought the price was a little high for the drinks, but the food prices were very reasonable, and the portions were healthy. Surprisingly, the place was not busy at all on a Friday night. The menu has a great variety of items that will please a lot of tastes. I don't believe it is authentic anything but a nice fusion of a variety of foods. read more

What a beautiful addition to Bridge street! Loved the vibe when we walked in, it's chill but friendly. The menu is posted on the wall as well as at the front there are copies. You order your food at the counter when you enter then can seat yourself inside or outside. There is full service at the bar if you want to sit and chat with full service. We opted to order at the counter then take seats outside. The staff was more than helpful explaining dishes and recommending their favorites to us. They brought all of our drinks and food right to us rather quickly. The drinks were fantastic and the food was seriously so flavorful and delicious! The pide is like a flat bread pizza but much better. The goat cheese pide was seriously out of this world and we could have eaten 3 orders of the za'atar fries, they were that good! The price point there is also fantastic and they have a pretty solid happy hour. We will be back again and again! read more

Went there on Labor Day. Sat outside as it was a beautiful day. One guy, ran the whole operation with 2 cooks, and the service was slow, but adequate. My wife had the chicken kabob and lentil soup. I had a pure lamb gyro. Will be back. read more

Much like the weed that the kitchen crew must be smoking, the food was just unbelievably mid. Service was awkward and loud (why are we yelling from one side of the counter to the other? I'm 2 feet away from you, I can hear you just fine with an inside voice) and the manager didn't even know there was a card reader on the customer's side of the counter. The lamb shawarma was clearly pre-made and microwaved to order, with the majority of it still cold in the middle. The fries were fine, nothing to write home about. I'm not sure if the Toum was in the room with us or if it just sounded like a nice idea, but I would have loved to have been able to actually taste it in my sandwich. Overall just a weird rebrand, and seemingly very rushed. Maybe if they slowed down a little and took the time to retrain staff and figure out a way to incorporate some flavor into their food, they could do alright in this space. read more
