Best food truck in Jacksonville by far, everything is great everytime and the owner Annie is wonderful. Please don't let the bad reviews push you away!!

Sooooo misleading! We are so dissatisfied that we paid $15 for crock pot rice & beef topped with bbq sauce. This looks absolutely nothing like the picture on the truck with hearty vegetables in it. It's supposed to be a pineapple/red pepper sauce on top of chicken! This is crazy. One of the photos is what we got vs what is posted on their truck & online. I am disputing this with my credit card as we're throwing it in the trash! Never going here again.

We were at an event being held by the Jacksonville Zoo. There was a mention of cash bars and food trucks - Who could turn that down? Once we arrived at the food truck area, there were only two food trucks - Pie Daddy being one to them. Since we have never seen this truck before and there was only one review. My wife and I gave it a shot. We ordered the steak bites (came with BBQ sauce and spicy salsa) along with a chicken pie or empanada. For what we paid it wasn't worth it. The steak bites were bland without the sauce and even with it, it wasn't that great. The same goes for the pie/empanada. I usually say don't knock it until you try it - so try it out and see for yourself.

I dropped in here for lunch today. I was greeted right away (it is unusual to be greeted in a…read morefriendly way in Jamaica restaurants normally LOL) and given a menu--and I already knew I wanted a lunch special with jerk chicken, based on the web site. There was island music playing in the background to set the vibe, along with a map of the Caribbean at every table. My jerk chicken came out quickly and was delicious. The plantains were the perfect consistency, which is important to me because some places dry them out. I asked for a side of pepper sauce and it's quite hot, so consider yourself warned! While I was dining, the owner, Peter, came over and was chatting with the patrons. The ladies at the next table clearly knew him well, and I love that there are local relationships at the restaurant. It was fascinating hearing about his transition from the finance industry in Trinidad to being a restaurant entrepreneur! I only wish I had had had space to try the rum cake. It would be a joy to come back to Irie Diner and support a local business!

I ordered curry goat and goat goat soup with no flavor , I also ordered red beans and rice and the rice was beyond dry . They also only give you 3 plantains ? Both my grandmother and myself informed that we refused to eat this food and they offered no correction and said " well I think the food tastes good and I cooked it" I said this isn't a traditional dish and this isn't curry and he said " well that how I make it" . I then asked well what are we to do and he said that I had to pay for the dish regardless if I eat it or not and that he can always take the plate if I'm not gonna eat it . I told him I'm not gonna give the food back if I have to pay for it so I gave it to someone else . Do not go here it's over priced and behind disgusting. It tastes like dirty dish water.

Looking at the reviews I was skeptical about trying this place, but my fiancé saw a video posted by…read moresomeone saying how good it is which made us come to a conclusion of trying it all out and see if this influencer really know what she's talking about. Their menu offered a bit more than Yah suh nice Jamaican which was why my fiancé chose this Eva's rather than Yah suh. The service need abit of improvement, there was no "Hi welcome in" like most small/big restaurant does to make their guest feel welcome. There's no enthusiasm in it as well and when my fiancé tried to order the jerk shrimp mild spicy which they said it has to be spicy but if you see in one of the picture with the list of item you can see 10pc shrimp jerk mild or spicy sooooo??? It had to be spicy???? Yeah alright then. Then why have Mac and cheese as a side if you can't order it as a side for your meal but can be purchased separately ???? The Cashier said it's " premium " there's no such as a premium Mac and cheese unless that Mac and cheese the come loaded with meat mtchhhh..... The ordering for take out in person need a better system cause why would you call out the order, instead of the name of the customer, what if someone else got the same order to avoid that issue they should start taking the name of the customer. Anyways here's what we try: Chicken patty - 5/10 - meat had no juice in it, was dry and barely any meat in it. Mac and cheese - 7/10 - noodles were overcooked, there wasn't really any flavor either. 2 meal combo Jerk chicken and oxtail - 7/10 the jerk chicken ( 3pc) was okay.... Didn't really taste any flavor on it imo, the rice and peas were alright not as good as taste of Jamaica. The oxtail was decent but only 4pc of it not really worth the $32 Jerk shrimp - 10/10 the flavor was good, the yellow rice was cook well and season properly. Overall the experience was meh.... Wouldn't really recommend this place.
