That's Italian Pie-Zano's serves a Pie that's as close to a Brooklyn Pizza as you will find around here. The New York Style Crust and savory Tomato Sauce come together to make the perfect hand-held, foldable Pizza. The expansive lineup of Pasta dishes are also right out of the Big Apple. Calzones, Strombolis, Hot Sandwiches, Cold Sandwiches, Appetizers, Salads and Deserts are all on the menu. If it's Italian, this Rolesville trattoria probably serves it. The one negative is that there is no inside seating. We were fortunate that the weather was beautiful on our first visit, and we were able to enjoy a bright sunny day at one of their outdoor tables. Otherwise this is one of the best take-out Pizzerias in the area. We enjoyed an 18" Pepperoni Pizzaand 10" Individual Pizza with Onions and Bell Peppers. Both were delicious - with just the right amount of savory Tomato Sauce and melty Mozzarella Cheese. Another favorite was the Penne Arrabiata Pasta with Black Olives and a Spicy Tomato Sauce. The Penne was cooked perfectly, the sauce tantalizing and the portion more than enough for two meals. My favorites are the Italian subs. Pie-Zano's sub rolls are everything a perfect roll should be: slightly sweet, slightly crispy on the outside, enough texture to provide a satisfying crunch when you bite into it and king-size. Any filling would taste great when stuffed inside one of these beauties. The Special Sub is crammed full of Ham, Salami, Provolone, Cappicola, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Banana Peppers and seasoned just right with classic Italian flavors, Olive Oil and Vinegar. A complete meal on a roll. The only item that we did not particularly enjoy was the Baked Spaghetti with Ricotta and Mozzarella. We found it to be rather bland, but were able to bring it to life with some oregano, basil, red pepper flakes and a drizzle of olive oil. I will admit. This place is the BEST New York style pizza place in NC. Venue: well. I would have to label this place a Neo- hole in the wall. It's full takeout. No table sitting inside. There are tables outside if you want to eat there. Food: so my family member drives here 40 minutes just to get cheese pie here. Wondered why such far drive but I will admit it. Best cheese pie ever, especially if you are NY pizza enthusiast. Crispy and light crust, taste and amount of marinara and cheese was on point. When you hold the slice- it stands straight, not like a limp.. nm. The pie was extraordinary! So I get it now. The drive was worth it. Service: not much service going on here. This place is the best. I'm from New York City and grew up in Jersey also and every time this place hits perfectly. I've tried pretty much every pizza joint in the Raleigh Durham area and this is the best hands-down. The pies are always nice and crispy and those guys are awesome over there. I had heard that Pie-Zano's was the place to go for pizza so decided to give it a try. It is in a Rolesville shopping center. I enjoyed seeing the old car out front too. There are a few tables outside but no inside seating at this time. I was greeted when I entered, provided a menu and then my order was taken. There was a bench to wait for the order. I didn't see until after I ordered that I could have bought something for a first responder and that would have gone on the wall for he or she to take. While waiting, I also noticed a food pantry, where someone can take needed items or drop them off for others that may be in need. I ordered the white pizza and the plain pizza which is cheese pizza. The pizzas were ready in about 10 minutes and smelled wonderful when I was given my order. The white pizza was my favorite but the cheese pizza was also tasty. Both were good when cold from the refrigerator too. I will try some other pizzas and items on future visits. read more

Pizza review time . I had someone from Brooklyn recommend this pizza in Rolesville NC so I drove 30 minutes to try their pizza . Very solid place with definitely New York Style Pizza. It was worth the drive to try this place. First I the service was excellent, very polite folks work here, they must not be from Brooklyn. I tried one slice of Cheese Pizza for today's review. Crust was excellent, they use traditional ovens here . Slight char which is what I ask for so the crust was 4.5 . The pizza was slightly floppy which seems to be the norm for NY style Pizza. Not to greasy as you can see in the picture. Undercarriage was near perfect. Sauce was very good better than average but not as good as Defara's in Cary. Cheese seemed to be good amount and fine overall I have this place at my number 8 rated pizza joint in NC and Tennessee. If you like NY style Pizza this is worth a visit. read more

I stopped in for take out last week. I got a large supreme pizza (or whatever their name for it is) a medium cheese, mozzarella stick, antipasto salad and tiramisu. All the food was delicious. The pizza was incredible. We literally ate all of it. Soo good. The salad was super fresh and good. Light dressing already on it. The marinara for the mozz sticks was so yummy. Tiramisu portion was incredibly small compared to what you pay, and most pizza restaurants like this. That is my only complaint about this place. The owner was taking orders at the front. She was so friendly. It's very telling to me when management and owners are not afraid to do the work. The one thing I wish they had, was done in. Their eating area was still closed I'm assuming from covid. Really changed the ambiance of the place. Can't wait to come back here to eat in when they open fully. read more

Might be the best NY style pizza in the Raleigh area. This is a small business that puts the community first. They have a donation wall where you can put up money or food for first responders as well as an entire section of the inside that is dedicated to donations for families in need. Rolesville's hidden secret- yet not so hidden. Call this place on a Friday night and it can take ten tries to get through- it's that popular. We started with the pizza- excellent. I mean, it's pizza. Hard to get it wrong. Then we fell in love with their Italian subs. The only thing I'll say about that is it depends on the day with who's making it. Sometimes it's dry so we always ask for extra oil and vinegar and we have to add Mayo or else it's very dry. Otherwise, a favorite place of ours. At the time of this review they also have a table of formula donated for and by customers. There is a sign that says something along the lines of "leave what you can, take what you need" to help families. That's absolutely amazing. As a mom to a baby, the kindness of that gesture blows my mind. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been going to pie zanos for 4 years now- Yesterday, the food was different. It tasted fine - but the pizza crust was thinner and the chicken portion of the Chicken parm dinner was 1/2 the size of what it used to be and the chicken was cut up instead of 2 breasts on top of the pasta . Great local pizza place. Stopped on a rainy Saturday night. There are about 10 tables, a few along the wall next to the open kitchen and a few in a room towards the back. It's a traditional pizza restaurant menu, with a variety of pies, calzones, hot and cold sandwiches. There are no pasta entrees. We started with garlic knots. These are served piping hot, fresh from the oven and slathered with garlic and butter and dusted with parmesan cheese. A cup of sweet tomato sauce accompanies for dipping. Excellent! We tried a 14" (medium) pie. It's a great thin crust, with generous mozzarella and excellent sauce. Cooked just right till the crust is crispy. As good a pizza as you'll find back home in NJ. Also tried the "Leave it to us" sandwich. This is a crusty hoagie roll piled with several generous slices of ham, topped with provolone and heated till the bread is warm and toasted and the cheese melts. Then it's topped with sweet peppers and tomato sauce. This is a good one - the melted cheese and the warm ham accented by the sweet peppers and the hearty tomato sauce. Yum! Definitely recommend Pie Zanno's. Great food with fantastic service in a locally owned restaurant. You won't be disappointed! read more

We found Pie-Zano's during the pandemic and despite being over a half hour away from our home, we keep coming back. We are NJ natives, and this place just gets it.
