My wife and I were hungry and decided to go into Johnny's Pizza for a bite. The portions are huge with the 2 slices and a drink special, which is great. The problem came into play when the food arrived and the slices tasted bland and plain with no Italian love or care. Sauce was terrible. We've eaten pizza almost everywhere, even at Johnny's when they first opened. Back then, it tasted like good Italian pizza. What happened? There's not one Italian guy back there in the kitchen cooking either who understands pizza. Looks like Johnny's has gone the way of the rest of the eating establishments around here hiring people who can not cook authentic delicious pizza. It's filling, but that isn't why we eat pizza. Pizza should be a culinary treat with delicious sauce and great mozzarella cheese. Sadly it's a 1 out of 5 for us. We'll stick with real pizza at Piezano's in Rolesville. read more

The food was really good and food came out quickly. It's in a shopping plaza with a grocery store so there is more than enough parking. It was really hot in there so eating there might not be very comfortable especially if it's a hot day. Prices are reasonable and you can order by the slice if you would like. Everyone behind the counter was really nice and they do bring the food to your table. read more

Two out three orders never received the food! They took no accountability, didn't care just blamed Slice. Slice said they delivered it but obviously delivered to the wrong address. Slice refunded the order. But the manager at Johnny's couldn't have cared less. Too bad their pizza is reasonable. Never again Ok update. The manager came to our house to apologize. Pizza starts with crust and Johnny's does fantastic when it does that. Has the perfect amount of chew! The supreme pizza was absolutely fantastic and the Brooklyn white was great as well, we would have liked a bit more flavor in it but can't complain as we ate both up quickly at home and the next day! Quick and friendly service and in a strip mall with Harris teeter as the anchor. Easy parking and looks like could be a great place to watch a game! read more

Clearly they are focused on take out. Some seating is barebones. Partial service/partial help yourself. Ordered a meat lovers type large pizza that was pretty decent. Sauce could be a little punched up but all tasted fresh and I particularly like they spread out the toppings, too many other places don't spread out the sauce and cheese enough leaving excessively large uncovered bare crust, then pile all the toppings around the center. They did a very good job making a nicely covered well distributed pizza. The limited service was fine but in the future, we'll just get it to go. read more

Super disappointed tonight ... placed an order at 3 pm to have it delivered at 5 pm because we needed to eat at 5 pm. At 445, i check the app which says it will arrive at 530 . But then it changes to 6 pm .. then to 610 pm!! When i call i am told Slice now uses Uber and I should call so they can deliver it vs Uber. Uber driver tells me she waited till almost 530 pm for the order to be ready. My receipt on the pizza clearly says 5 pm. It arrives luke warm of course and 1 was overcooked! No apology or offer other than to blame it on the Slice app and Uber. Customer service was very bad when it arrives 90 mins late! read more

After the Johnny's Pizza event in Cary, I decided it was time to visit the Wake Forest location. It is located in the Harris Teeter Shopping Center off of Capital Blvd. The menu is large and offers wings; pizzas; pastas; salads; subs and more. I went with the New York White. It has an olive oil and garlic base and topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The slices are large with a generous amount of toppings. I ordered it to go and it was ready pretty quick and still piping hot by the time I got home with it. Service was friendly and I will be back to try more of the pizzas and other menu items. read more

This used to be our go-to pizza but something has changed over the last 12 months or so. It slowly has been going downhill and now we've just given up. The pizzas are thin and dry with no flavor. Sad to see our favorite pizza place change for the worse like this. We'll be driving further down the road to Marios from now on. read more

Spaghetti was good and so was the mozzarella sticks. I wish I added meat to the Spaghetti sauce but maybe next time.

Honestly, it's been some time since we last went to Johnny's. I don't know what it is if they change the recipe of the dough for the sauce because it really did not taste as it has done so in the past. We found the dough to be very bland. There was no sweetness to it, nor there was any saltines to it. It didn't have that elasticity that it normally had. And again, I don't know if it's because they're trying to save money, but there were several sections of my margarita pie that was missing a main ingredient of the pie cheese. Also the margarita pie had two pieces of basil on it. This total experience cost us $30. And as much as I hate to say it, I think we'll hold off going to Johnny's for a while. read more

Ordered here many times, usually pretty good. Friday night we ordered a large Hawaiian and it was the worst pizza we've ever gotten from anywhere. Ordered to be picked up 1.5 hours later. Crust was hard & pizza dried out like it was made when we first ordered it. It all went in the trash after we called and was told it was made fresh (couldn't have been) and after complaining to mgr were offered 1/2 off next pizza. We'll spend the $36 elsewhere from now on since there's plenty of less expensive fresh options. read more

February 10, 2025. The day after superbowl. My meal from this establishment cost about $25.00. I ordered brushetta and a stromboli. Stromboli? Absolutely not. Johnny's stromboli is " their" version of stromboli. It's a calzone. My " stromboli" was burnt black on the bottom. Inedible. Could not bite thru. Their was barely anything in it of substance except lots of mozzarella as a filler. It was so chopped and cooked it would not stay on the bread. I had guests that also ordered over $100.00 dollars on stromboli and cannolis too. N with ingredients inside. Me? My meal was inedible. I'm 64, from NY, and this place is selling their versions. I was starving and got up to cook myself something at kick off. I called Johnny's today. Crazy me. I thought they'd have a slight interest when you call to solve the problem due to to an inedible meal. I had taken photos too to show them! Kid you not, not the slightest interest including the manager. They had two chances to speak to me. They did not. Instead, the woman on the phone kept up in a stern voice basically saying, " We're sorry there is nothing we're going to do. Wow!!! The lady was busy with a customer. I asked her to call back when she wasn't busy. She called back right away. Same attitude. It's pretty ugly. Our last 3 or 5 pizzas we've received in the past, 3 pizzas were burned crust on one side and the other side almost looking done. We never complain about anything. However, after 3 pizzas and their so called stromboli were not turned in the oven halfway through and burned or overcooked on one side. It is pure laziness not to turn a pizza halfway through in an oven. Hello! I cook. When pizza places cook their pizza as if they had a wood burning oven. That is cheap too. Btw... just to be honest, I was aware Superbowl was the next day and called around noon Saturday before game day knowing Johnny's would be busy and overwhelmed. I "politely" asked Johnny's of Wake Forest how and when to order our meal. I knew "real" stromboli is different and needs prep time and to cook different too. I was told to call at noon on game day and place the order with a pick up time. What more does take- out require? Also we arrived early to wait for pick up. My review? I'm not going back. It cost $25.00 for my meal and a generous tip. $25.00! And inedible. And basically told in a stern manner....oh well.... My husband and our 3 guests will all write reviews. What a racket! This isn't Spago. This is a take-out pizza place that has some seating for dine-in. For what it is, I give it five stars. They serve several different types of pizza, but I've only had the NY style crust and the gluten free option. The gluten free option is regarded as the superior gluten free crust from all other rivals in this household. The NY style is a lil' bit thicker than I'm accustomed to, but still really good. Is it pricey? Yeah, a little. Are the pastas and salads a little pedestrian? You betcha. Don't see the five stars and think there's going to be some transformative experience waiting for you -- there isn't. But, compared to similiar places, with similar price points, selling similar products, I'd say it's pretty great. My only gripe is that their specials/promos are for pizzas with one topping... which is wack because everyone knows that it's either plain cheese, or two (or more) toppings. Several issues...we placed our order online and received confirmation. The status updated to say the order was done but it was never received at the store. We had to wait 30 minutes for our food to be made. When we finally got home, Pizza was terrible. It tasted like it was made with American cheese. We had to throw the whole pizza away! read more

I have to say that the owner takes pride in his business and strives to make things right. I would give 3.5 for the consistency of the food, but give 4 stars because of good service. read more

The Pizza is thin and NY Style with a good sauce to cheese ratio. My husband wanted me to mention that the Supreme Pizza HIT and wasn't TOO salty considering all the meats lol. Also, since I don't eat beef he said the Philly Egg Rolls were AMAZING and that they tasted even better the NEXT day lol The wings were actually fav, they were fried PERFECTLY and the Buffalo sauce had a BOMB flavor to it read more

If you like white pizza, this is the place for you. We got a slice of cheese and a personal white pizza - cheese pizza was good but the white pizza was outstanding! Very friendly employee and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Prices were good, too - $3 for a very large slice and $10 for the personal white. Great location in WF, in a relatively new shopping center near Purnell. Ample parking, lots of seating, great pizza. We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in tonite to try out the Johnny's Pizza in Wake Forest. Delicious food! It's a storefront shop in a strip mall anchored by a supermarket. It's new construction so everything is bright, shiny and new. The interior is exposed brick and tile. Booths line both sides with tables in the center, 14 in all. It's an order at the counter - they bring the food to the table place. We opted for the 14" veggie Supreme pie. Our counter order taker told us 12 minutes and 12 minutes it was. This is an 8 slice pie. The crust is NY style and perfect. Nice and crunchy, thin but not too thin, nice bubbles on the edges. Toppings for this masterpiece are onions, green peppers, onions, black olives, mushrooms, spinach, sliced Roma tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and tomato sauce. All toppings were crisp and fresh, no canned toppings here. The ratio of vegetables was just right, and the pie was not watery which is sometimes a problem with a vegetable pizza. This is a well executed and tasty veggie pizza. Johnny's is on the other side of town, but we'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items - worth the drive. read more

I've ordered takeout and delivery from johnnys since the pandemic hit. My food has always been delicious and served promptly. The cheese pizza is delicious on its own. It's definitely got that ny style that most people look for. The pizza is generously sized. Ranch dressing is made homemade. The owner you can tell really cares about the community and he's made right our meals anytime there's been an issue. Definitely going to order here regularly! read more

Great pizza, wings and salad served by friendly folks. Recommend the white sauce pizza - very good. We reheated and crisped our wings in the oven at home, so I'm not sure how they are when eaten without that step, but they were great after doing that. Reasonable prices. read more

We absolutely love Johnnys! Order pickup at least once a week, and order the same thing. The buffalo shrimp are amazing and the pizza is always exactly how we want it. We ordered Johnny's pizza tonight, and overall it was a good experience. We ordered the cheese pizza, beef pizza and Philly cheesesteak pizza, an order of hot wings and Carolina bbq, and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was good! I did feel like the steak one was over cooked, with a few burnt spots on it. The wings were delicious. My kids loved the cheese pizza! My 3 year old had 3 slices ...they couldn't eat through the crust though, it was definitely over cooked. I will say, this is bit on the pricy side. read more
