Burnt crust on the corners couldn't even be eaten.

Super disappointed tonight ... placed an order at 3 pm to have it delivered at 5 pm because we needed to eat at 5 pm. At 445, i check the app which says it will arrive at 530 . But then it changes to 6 pm .. then to 610 pm!! When i call i am told Slice now uses Uber and I should call so they can deliver it vs Uber. Uber driver tells me she waited till almost 530 pm for the order to be ready. My receipt on the pizza clearly says 5 pm. It arrives luke warm of course and 1 was overcooked! No apology or offer other than to blame it on the Slice app and Uber. Customer service was very bad when it arrives 90 mins late!

After the Johnny's Pizza event in Cary, I decided it was time to visit the Wake Forest location. It is located in the Harris Teeter Shopping Center off of Capital Blvd. The menu is large and offers wings; pizzas; pastas; salads; subs and more. I went with the New York White. It has an olive oil and garlic base and topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The slices are large with a generous amount of toppings. I ordered it to go and it was ready pretty quick and still piping hot by the time I got home with it. Service was friendly and I will be back to try more of the pizzas and other menu items.

Johnnys basically bare with food and mozzarella filling! Create Your Own Stromboli

February 10, 2025. The day after superbowl. My meal from this establishment cost about $25.00. I ordered brushetta and a stromboli. Stromboli? Absolutely not. Johnny's stromboli is " their" version of stromboli. It's a calzone. My " stromboli" was burnt black on the bottom. Inedible. Could not bite thru. Their was barely anything in it of substance except lots of mozzarella as a filler. It was so chopped and cooked it would not stay on the bread. I had guests that also ordered over $100.00 dollars on stromboli and cannolis too. N with ingredients inside. Me? My meal was inedible. I'm 64, from NY, and this place is selling their versions. I was starving and got up to cook myself something at kick off. I called Johnny's today. Crazy me. I thought they'd have a slight interest when you call to solve the problem due to to an inedible meal. I had taken photos too to show them! Kid you not, not the slightest interest including the manager. They had two chances to speak to me. They did not. Instead, the woman on the phone kept up in a stern voice basically saying, " We're sorry there is nothing we're going to do. Wow!!! The lady was busy with a customer. I asked her to call back when she wasn't busy. She called back right away. Same attitude. It's pretty ugly. Our last 3 or 5 pizzas we've received in the past, 3 pizzas were burned crust on one side and the other side almost looking done. We never complain about anything. However, after 3 pizzas and their so called stromboli were not turned in the oven halfway through and burned or overcooked on one side. It is pure laziness not to turn a pizza halfway through in an oven. Hello! I cook. When pizza places cook their pizza as if they had a wood burning oven. That is cheap too. Btw... just to be honest, I was aware Superbowl was the next day and called around noon Saturday before game day knowing Johnny's would be busy and overwhelmed. I "politely" asked Johnny's of Wake Forest how and when to order our meal. I knew "real" stromboli is different and needs prep time and to cook different too. I was told to call at noon on game day and place the order with a pick up time. What more does take- out require? Also we arrived early to wait for pick up. My review? I'm not going back. It cost $25.00 for my meal and a generous tip. $25.00! And inedible. And basically told in a stern manner....oh well.... My husband and our 3 guests will all write reviews. What a racket! L.F

I placed an online order for a Margherita pizza with sausage and a cheese pizza, both 18 inches. The website was easy to order from, no issues there. They even accepted Google Pay which was a nice bonus. Prices were also inline with similar pizzas in the Wake Forest area from non-major chain restaurants. The wait time on a Friday evening was about 30 minutes (same as mentioned when ordering) which is inline with other local pizza shops during that time of day. When I picked up the pizza, a lady greeted me with a hello and a nice smile, can't overlook that nowadays! My wife and I had the Margherita pizza and my son had the cheese. The Margherita was very good. I figured I'd like it, but was a bit surprised how much I'd like it. Thin crust. If you like olive oil and garlic, like I do, you'll appreciate it on this pizza. I think they enhance everything else on the pizza. They are pronounced, but not overpowering. The pizza was not greasy, with the ingredients (fresh spinach, onion, tomatoes) very fresh tasting. The crust was ok, not special, not bad at all, but the toppings definitely made up for it. I think some additional flavoring from yeast would have helped the crust. My wife also really liked the flavor of the pizza. We'll definitely put this on repeat in a future order. My son thought the cheese pizza was good, similar to other pizza restaurants in the area that are not large chain types. Overall, I'm glad I took a chance and now have yet another option for pizza in Wake Forest. I'll be back!

Vlad here, describing our GO-TO pizza place here in Wake Forest: George's Pizzeria. We are coming up on 2 years as WF residents, and have eaten at - or picked up for in-home dining - George's pizza, wings, calamari and other awesome fare - this review is long overdue. We have taken out-of-town visitors and family to George's, with rave reviews and amazement over the fresh flavor and relaxing ambiance. Located on White Street alongside local seldom-used train tracks with plenty of on-street and private lot parking, this wheelchair-accessible hideaway is close and easy to get to. We frequently dine in, enjoying epic service from the small and efficient wait staff - yesterday we were privileged to have the amazing Emma serve us - the epitome of friendliness and rapid efficiency, featured in one of the pics posted. We always get a tailored Meat Lover's pizza (large, of course, so we can enjoy more of it later in the week!) and the unbelievably crispy and tasty wings, along with ice cold beers - HEAVEN! Food came quick, order was correct and she made sure our glasses were never empty. Food is ok. Didn't order pizza, as was in the mood for other Italian specialties. The garlic knots were interesting. Reminded me of crescent rolls made out of pizza dough. They're served dry, with a cup of garlic butter dipping sauce. Tasty enough, but not really how I envisioned them, slathered in butter with chunks of garlic, served in a basket. Baked ziti was ok but bland. Pasta slightly overcooked so it was mushy. Sauce is good though, a little sweet. Similar experience with the fettucine. Fettucine cooked right, sauce didn't have any zest to it. Will give another try, next time to taste the pizza. Both of us didn't expect the full nice restaurant dine in experience that they have going on here. On the left is an area for pickup and delivery and on the right it's a really nice dining room. I was even more surprised at the quality of wine offerings by the glass, and went with a nice Chianti. He got a Boss Martini with blue cheese olives. He said it was good, although not as dirty as he would have preferred. I had seen a review online of their hot honey pepperoni pizza which is what had taunted me to suggest this place, so we shared a large one, which came out looking just as fabulous and tasted pretty darn great. Only oddity was one side there were a couple pieces that He felt were just slightly under done. Love the dollops of ricotta, the burst of flavor from the tiny peppers and the cup pepperoni. Pretty sure the sauce is just crushed tomatoes, which works well to let the toppings shine. If there was actual hot honey on top we couldn't tell. The large is indeed large, and we took plenty home for delicious leftovers. I will add that Service was super friendly, but we waited a long time for our ready drinks to be brought from the bar. And our pizza sat a bit before being brought to us also. Both minor in the grand scheme of things. We will definitely be back, especially since they gave us a card for a free appetizer with a pasta dish.
