We haven't been here in over a year, our mistake. We came for lunch, it was a gorgeous summer day with 75 F high and soft breeze so we sat outside on the Houssatonic River. Julia was our server and very friendly as well as helpful with suggestions on the menu. In addition to Julia, a young man seemed always willing to refill our waters, bring ice, remove empty glassware and plates, you name it he did it quietly and with a smile. So professional. We ordered the beef empanadas to start. Normally you get ground beef right? These were lean shredded beef with a jalapeno habanero aioli that were probably some of the best we have had in years. The corn breading is light and not dense, ridiculously delicious. For our meal we split the hot oil pizza with sausage and added fresh jalapeños. The crust was so good. We couldn't eat it all so brought home the rest for dinner. So food and service today was amazing. Go with complete confidence. See if Julia is working. Great place to meet friends with a menu equipped to have something for everyone. The steak bowl was phenomenal- a great "feel good" order when dining out. Cocktails were also excellent. I had the Pho... so it's not really a solid PHO There's no accoutrements on the side (basil, jalapeño or lime) they do serve it with some sauces, which is nice and the noodle to broth ratio is off. There's way too much noodle and certainly not enough broth. And the broth is tasty, but it's not really a rich PHO.. Very trendy spot, inside was nice, big bar, louder music. We wanted a relaxed experience so dined outside and it was a great view and quiet. Wings were disappointing as the menu said oven roasted; they were definitely fried. Steak sandwich was very good, perfectly seasoned. I liked that the salad had arugula but both the ranch and blue cheese were disappointing, definitely bottled. My partner said the lamb was good. If I could 0 stars I would. Not sure if the food is good since we waited 2hours on Mothers Day and it still didn't come out. Talked to the manager and she said they were busy. Not much of an excuse since we had reservations and then decided to get snippy and blame the waiter. She then decided to bump the group next to us so they could bring out our meals in front of theirs. Not just our table either, as there were two other groups who were sat at their 5 pm sitting (they had seating every 2 hours) and they still hadn't received their food when we left. Love this restaurant, my go to for happy hour and cocktails . Wondering ambiance on bar area over looks a very old rustic Shelton railroad bridge , adds a Great scenic view . Love the blue point oysters on happy hour is my favorite part. The Popeyes Pizza is also great. I've tried quite a few menu options here and by far I have no issues, everything is worthwhile here . My mom and I visited for dinner last night for a girls night out and to also support the special fundraiser they were having for the Boys & Girls Club. It was our first time visiting, and I'm so glad we finally made it in. What a charming spot on the banks of the Housatonic! The dining room had a great vibe, and I definitely want to come back in the warmer weather to enjoy the patio. Our server, I believe his name was Robert, was attentive and friendly. All of the food was delicious, and we really loved the piece of German chocolate cake for dessert sourced from the bakery next door. The calamari was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. For our lunch entrees I had the pork chop served over spinach and broccoli. My girlfriend had the chicken served over spinach and potatoes. Both portions were very large. The lunch portion was more than enough. The pork chop was delicious, so packed with flavor. The restaurant was a little on the dark side but from the bar area we had a great view of the water. Very classy, up-scale casual restaurant with a beautiful interior and outdoor patio that overlooks the Housatonic River. My cousin hosted her daughter's First Communion lunch here and the service was excellent and all of the servers were extremely kind and attentive. The meal came out in three separate courses: salad, penne alla vodka and then the main course which was personal choice of steak, chicken, or salmon. I chose the chicken which was served with au jus gravy, Yukon potatoes, and steamed broccoli. It was very flavorful. Everyone else at my table also enjoyed their salmon or steak. Only downfall is not much parking, but larger public lots are a bit of a walking distance away, but that is not at fault of the restaurant itself. The calamari were lightly breaded and fried and the circles were nice size. The portion was a bit small. The wings were not crispy enough and were very small the sauce was more of an Asian fusion taste. For dinner one of us got the steak and eggs special for brunch and the steak was cooked perfectly however, the bernaise sauce had no flavor. Another one of us got the hot oil pizza s d while the crust was nice and crispy the hot part seemed to be forgotten as the pizza wasn't spicy at all. Lastly we had salmon teriyaki bowl that had good flavor and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Sweet treats we had cheesecake that tasted like it came out of a box and a lava cake with no lava It's vibe restaurant with exposed duct work and concrete floors. We recently did brunch delivery during one of my visits and this opinionated New Yorker who is always on the hunt for places that can give you dine-in quality with their delivery was quite impressed! My niece and I ordered items (pictured) with tots that arrived crispy! Not only were the crab cakes in my Benedict very tasty, the eggs were perfectly poached and in tact upon arrival. The bowls the other kiddos ordered boasted super generous portions and were reported to be delicious. One was even hearty enough to make two meals. Located along the Housatonic river, this little gem has a large patio with plenty of seating outside. The inside is also lovely so you may have a tough time deciding where to sit. My first time eating here - My friend & I went for brunch and managed to walk-in with no reservations! Parking however was challenging for a bit. The lot is very small and half the spots are for residents. I'd ended up circling a few times and got a space while someone was leaving. As for the brunch menu, we weren't really excited about it. We ended up ordering off the regular menu. We did get the personal bottle (strawberry mimosa) from the brunch menu and it honestly wasn't worth $34. i thought i would've received a champagne bottle & strawberry flavored juice or flavor but it was more of a sparkling strawberry moscato. I would had rather ordered two cocktails, but we didn't have a cocktail/bar menu. Lesson learned for next time. The food was fine. I wish there were mashed potatoes with the steak instead of Yukon potatoes. The crème brûlée was my fav dish. It was super light and flavorful. We wanted brunch but ended up having an early dinner. Visited here over Xmas break with my mom. The inside was trendy looking and clean and I really liked the huge windows overlooking the river. I bet the patio will be awesome when it's warm. We came for happy hour where wine is $5 a glass for select kinds and there's a $9 app menu, plus the guac and chips is only $5. Run to the guac and chips. They were homemade tortilla chips and delicious! Being a Texan we know tortilla chips and I was so surprised by how good they were. The guac was delicious. We also ordered the HH calamari which was pretty standard. Not bad but I've had better and it's not worth the normal $12 price tag. My Mom has never tried lamb so we also ordered the lamb chop app for $18. AMAZING. Truly delicious. We then got a single lamb taco Bc the lamb was so good there and it was also amazing. They cooked the lamb perfectly and it was so juicy and soft. The menu is a bit puzzling overall- they have Asian bowls and tacos and pizzas and I do think they can do with a bit of focus and editing down. Our server was very young and obviously new and did not know the HH menu at all, and to keep leaving the table to ask others our questions about the wines and stuff, so that was a drawback. My best friend and I went to Pier 131 on a warm Friday night. The outdoor seating was packed and had a 45 minute wait while there was no wait for indoor seating, so we opted for indoor. We were greeted by our waiter who took our order for both drinks and food. It took ~15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. I ordered a canned seltzer and my friend ordered a beer. I think that's a considerably long time for two easy drinks. For appetizers, we ordered chips and guac and street corn. 20 minutes after we ordered, our waiter came over and told us that they were out of street corn. It's understandable to be out of an item but to come back 20 minutes after we ordered seemed a little odd. For entrees, my friend ordered shrimp tacos which were just shrimp and corn on a corn tortilla. It was a fine taco but it was nothing to come back for. I ordered the Cajun penne, which had good flavor. Our appetizers and entrees did come out at the same time which was a little off-putting and it took about 45 minutes to get our food which was a long time!I For desert, we ordered cheesecake, which was good. Overall, I would not run back to Pier 131 but would give it another chance. The wait times were very long for average food. read more

Service was great, most likely the best in this little small Shelton strip. Ambiance is aces, river view, bridge view albeit graffiti. Happy is indeed happy. Keep it up Pier 131. So that was a little bit disappointing to begin with. We proceeded to order our dinner. The clams with linguine were tasty but it felt like it was something I could've made at home. Mainly because the linguine was just box pasta. The guacamole with chips and the avocado toast was good but once again felt like someone I could've made better at home. I didn't have the burger so I can't speak to it much but the presentation was definitely nice. I absolutely love everything about Pier131. Been here a handful of times since they opened and enjoyed the food and service each time! My favorites are the warm rice lentil bowls and the buttery crab roll with melted butter to dip! And OMG their sunday brunch is LIT! Like so lit, I ordered a mimosa and it came in a bottle with a sparkler coming out of it all boujee and fabulous! Their outdoor seating area is really nice with a great view of the river and the bar inside is big with ample seating. I've come for happy hour before and they run some great specials.
