The service was slow, we waited 45 minutes for our appetizer and it took about an hour for our entrees to get out. We arrived around 7:30, so it's in the full swing of dinner service. However, it felt like a very long wait. I got the shrimp and grits! It was pretty good, but not hour-wait worthy. Our server was great, though, and we sat on the rooftop so we got to enjoy the sea breeze at sunset.

We stopped in while visiting Tybee Island. They have a good amount of outside seating, so we decided to enjoy the warm March weather. Friendly staff let us choose where we wanted to sit. Lots of outdoor and rooftop seating. We started off with the crab stuffed mushrooms. Then, we had the grilled shrimp tacos with aioli and the fried green tomato sandwich. Everything was very tasty and assembled well. The fried green tomatoes had a nice crispy topping and the sandwich had a delicious sauce on it. Tasty fries with it. Very good. It was a pretty good spot in the downtown Tybee area among a lot of mediocre restaurants. This was a good pick if you want a good lunch or dinner near the Tybee pier.

We had a wonderful family dinner here last week. We chose to dine inside. Loved the comfy chairs. Super friendly staff. I decided on the strawberry salad for my dinner. It was delicious and you get a large portion.

    Rockefeller oysters were amazing!

Great service and food! Really enjoyed our visit. Staff was quick with recommendations and responsive to our large groups needs.

This was a nice surprise. Great food, cozy atmosphere and comfy chairs felt great after walking around the pier in the cold. Delish shrimp tacos and my friend loved the crab and shrimp. Great service and more upscale. Loved the experience.

First impression visit on Valentine's Day around 2:00PM. We got the a raspberry Margarita pitcher, rockafeller oysters, clam chowder, Salmon, and shrimp tacos. Our total was about $128. The salmon was excellent. Seared to perfection and cooked at the perfect temperature. The mashed potatoes that came with it were seasoned and flavorful. The clam chowder was delicious. You could tell they made it fresh that day. Great food, great drinks, excellent service. Our waitress was Jesse. She did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable about the menu.

We pivoted and went here after our beach day turned into a rainy day. The service was great and our waitress was awesome. We all like our food for the most part. I had the steamed crab legs and shrimp and it was delicious and we started with the crab dip which I'd absolutely recommend. The only thing that was meh was the oyster Rockefeller. They were just sort of flavorless. Everything else was great!

During my trip to Tybee Island, we stopped at Pier 16 for lunch. There were limited options for vegetarians. We ordered the fried green tomatoes (3/5) and fried shrimp (3/5), which came with coleslaw and fries. Both tasted okay-nothing great, but not too bad. The portions were large. The prices were on the higher side, which is expected for a restaurant located in a touristy beach area. The place was clean, had a cheerful atmosphere, and the service was quick, friendly, and attentive.

While visiting Tybee Island, we wanted to have a seafood meal. We were greeted by the manager and seated inside after a short wait. She visited with us a little, giving us some recommendations. The interior of the restaurant is classy, and there is also lots of outside seating. We started with the shrimp and crab dip, which we did not care for. It had a very fishy/gamey flavor. For my entree, I ordered the crab cake meal. It came with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies, and all of it was very good. My husband also enjoyed his fried shrimp meal. Pier 16 is a good place for lunch or dinner if you are on Tybee Island.

Pier 16 is by far one of the best restaurants in Tybee! Their fish tacos were the best I have ever had in my life. They were gluten free safe as well which makes traveling there even better. Do not sleep on this restaurant. Their Cole slaw was amazing as well. Service pretty great too!

Amazing Food and a chic beach vibe interior with comfy chairs. The staff were very attentive and very friendly. We couldn't figure out which appetizers to order because they all sounded amazing! We ended up ordering the Southern Fried Green Tomatoes, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Crab and Shrimp Dip, Georgia Shrimp and Garlic Parmesan Oysters! All were apps were flavorful and delicious! Joseph our waiter/bartender made KILLER Espresso Martinis! Cheers to Pier 16!

This was probably the most expensive place I've been thus far for what you get. The service was good and the environment is warm and friendly. When you are seated it feels like it's going to be an upscale experience. The drinks were good. I'd go back just for the drinks. The food was ok. I had the crab cake and the ahi tuna salad. The slices of tuna looked like they were cut by a dull knife. The crab cake was more breading than crab. I would go back for drinks not the food.

I made reservations for dinner last night and we were very disappointed. We sat inside and there were flies everywhere. It was so annoying. Our waitress was awesome though. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller as an app and they were overcooked and overpowered by the spinach. Then my boyfriend ordered a filet with corn and mashed potatoes and there was no seasoning! Everything was very bland. I had the steamed seafood and my experience was the same. And I was disgusted to see that the mussels and shrimp were not cleaned properly. Our bill was $200 with tip which was insane for the quality of food we received. We do not recommend this restaurant; there are much better choices on the island or in Savannah.

Do not get the coffee at Sea Wolf Tybee…read more In Sea Wolf's defense, our server told me as such. I ordered coffee, and he practically begged me not to. "Imagine Folgers... but worse," he said. I grew up on Eight O'Clock coffee--the only brand worse than Folgers-- so opted to brave the drip from Sea Wolf Tybee. How bad could it really be? Really bad. The Sea Wolf Tybee coffee was really, really, bad. The owners have made a deal with the barrier island devil where their successful establishment came at the expense of serving the worst coffee on earth. The coffee wasn't just bland, it was reeking with flavor, as if a tybee island horseshoe crab has been decaying in the coffee pot since the eatery was established in 2020. The server tried his hardest to prevent this 4-star review by warning me about the coffee, and in his defense the taste is not why I deducted Sea Wolf Tybee one star. I deducted one star because the vile 12oz cup of black drip coffee was $5 dollars. Like any diner at a lunch spot, I did not check the coffee's price before ordering it, assuming it'd be the standard $2-3 dollars. Even specialty coffee shops max their drip coffee prices at $4.50. Instead, Sea Wolf Tybee has opted to charge $5, rake-in a 95% profit margin, and exploit the trust of patrons who assume a cup of joe won't cost as much as Georgia's hourly minimum wage. I'm a former barista and coffee-lover, and $5 is the most expensive drip coffee I have ever encountered. Sea Wolf Tybee had outdone itself--the bill was more nauseating than the coffee.

For the tapas, we began with the Uni Toast. The uni was fresh and delicious, and the caviar was excellent. My only criticism is that it's a single piece of toast, so at $16 it felt a bit pricey, even though the quality was outstanding. The tomato salad was another highlight. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, and the aioli brought everything together beautifully without overpowering the dish. Our favorite savory dish was the braised cabbage. It arrived as essentially half a cabbage--about the size of a brain--which made it a little awkward to eat. That said, the flavors more than made up for the presentation. The gochujang barbecue sauce was rich and slightly sweet with just the right amount of heat, and the roasted oyster mushrooms complemented the cabbage perfectly. Overall, Sombramesa delivered a fantastic meal with creative, high-quality food and excellent service. While a couple of dishes leaned toward the expensive side for their portion size, the quality of the ingredients and the execution made for a memorable experience. We'd happily return!

The sign out front said $1 oysters 12-2 and we immediately said yes. We visited Saturday 7/4/26 and the place was lively but not packed, we were able to grab a table in the front by their beautiful windows facing Broughton st. Shorty and Josh treated us wonderfully with incredible service, we never felt like we were inconveniencing them with requests if questions. We ordered a dozen oysters (James River), caviar & chicharrones, the hot dog special, a glass of J. Laurens Blanquette de Limoux and a Mignonette Martini. Wow! Everything was phenomenal! Caleb, the chef, really knows what he's doing and you can tell him and David, the bartender, collaborate on the menu. The oysters come with a perfectly balanced pink peppercorn mignonette which is also used in the martini (must try!!). I've never tried chicharrones and caviar before but will definitely be pairing them together again after this. The hot dog was by far the dark horse, we ordered it partly as a novelty as it is their special. Caleb designed it after a low country boil; pimento cheese slathered in the bottom of the buttered and toasted brioche bun, hot dog perfectly grilled and topped with shrimp, corn, red onions, peppers and steamed potato slices sandwiched between the dog and the bread.
