I recently attended a birthday dinner at Lavender and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. I had heard such mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. The place was really cute and aesthetically pleasing. All the staff I encountered was really nice and helpful. For a group of 20+ the one waitress was very attentive and on top of things. The views alone for this place are 10/10. We got pictures with a perfect sunset in the background. The drink I had, which I believe was a purple paradise was delicious. I had the arroz con pollo, which was very good; but it lacked seasoning. I do believe some salt would have went a long way and unfortunately none was available on the table. Lavender Rooftop Kitchen & Bar was definitely one of the highlights of my stay at the AC Hotel in Savannah. The views, vibe, and decor are fantastic, and the atmosphere feels modern and relaxing. The staff was welcoming and personable, especially the host I had each night. I had a mango cocktail, some wine, and the cheesecake, and overall everything was very good. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is consistency. I ordered the cheesecake three nights in a row and the first night was AMAZING, the second was a little underwhelming, and the third was somewhere in between. Lavender Rooftop was such a cute vibe. My fiancé and I visited one evening and sat on the outdoor patio--the views of the Savannah River were absolutely worth it. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the AC Hotel, which adds to the overall experience. The food was really good. I had the Arroz con Pollo, and my fiancé ordered the Calacas Market Tacos. Both were flavorful and well-prepared. The drinks were just as enjoyable. My fiancé had a smoked Manhattan, and I had the Lavender 75. I always enjoy a good rooftop! This one was no exception. It's located inside of a hotel on the 8th floor. When you walk in, the vibe feels relaxed and adult which I look forward to when I'm vacationing. Unfortunately they sat a woman and two little children by me :(. I had a delicious margarita in my hand so I was able to move past it. The apple salad was refreshing and delicious. I was so pleased. Service was cool. I ordered the Manchego with Prosciutto, which was overly salty to the point that it became difficult to enjoy without accompanying bread. The short rib large plate was rather bland, requiring additional seasoning with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. On the other hand, the Ropa Vieja was quite good--tasty and satisfying. I was surprised by the generous portion of rice served alongside it, which wasn't indicated on the menu, to the extent that it overshadowed the beef stew in the dish. First of all The Lavender Rooftop Kitchen and Bar is beautiful. The drinks are great and the food is good. The waitstaff including Shawn was good as well. Their specialty drinks are delicious but.....the bar manager Anthony is horrible. I was there for a family event and he was rude, condescending, and basically threw us out of the bar area when we had reserved a private area for an event. No other options were offered to us except to leave the bar. The hotel and other staff members are great with Anthony being the negative in what would have been a very positive experience at the AC Hotel. Anthony provided a customer "Dis" service!!! read more

This place was a little bougie inside and out and I loved that. The Lavender martini was delicious. My friend said the Albondigas (meatballs) were delicious. They were served in a cute little cauldron. My hubby had the salad and weren't crazy about the croutons in the salad, but overall the salad was good. Churros were light and fluffy. It is a great view. Probably one of the best I've seen while working in Savannah. The patio/deck is comfortable and has several different types of seating. Tables. Soft chairs with smaller tables. Larger tables with more chairs. My chair was cush and I could either lean forward and enjoy my meal, or lean back and relish my drink. Initially service was a little slow, but that wasn't my server's fault. He was sat with me, who had a reservation, and a large family. He handled it all with grace. After the initial double seat, Chris checked on my over and over and was so helpful and charming. I had girl dinner on this night, so chose from the small plates. I had the chef's selection, essentially a charcuterie board. Mine had a delightfully unexpected selection of wagyu cold cuts, I think a type of pepperoni, hummus, pita (it was cold, toast it better please!), another type of smoked cheese, and this super weird, yet somehow so cool French onion cheddar cheese. It was nutty, oniony, and super weird, but I have never had anything like it and applaud this random Savannah rooftop bar for stepping out on a ledge! I had no idea what it was, so my sever went out of his way to find out and even try it himself. We had a fun conversation about the taste. I also had the tomato and prosciutto toast, which in theory would be good, but just wasn't my style. Something tasted a little musty about it, but I think that's a me thing. Again, you could do a little better on the serving temp and seasoning of some of these things. And finally I had the duck fat fries. These were okay. Served with aioli. large and hearty, but I'm not sure I would order these again. They also have large plates, like fish tacos, the smash burger, short rib, steak, pappardelle, pork tenderloin. They also have salads (Caesar, roasted beet/fried green tomatoes, summer peach). The Lavender martini was too sweet for me, but others around me seemed to enjoy it. The shipyard margarita was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The smoked Manhattan was indeed smoky, deep, and moody, and I would order that again. Happened to be my server's favorite. My server really was great. I can't rave enough about Chris N. He was attentive, kind, made great suggestions, and went above and beyond for me. The Lavender is located on the top floor of the brand new Marriott AC hotel in downtown Savannah. This establishment offers beautiful views of the Savannah River comparable to any restaurant in Savannah. Online reservations were pretty easy to make, and there is plenty of free parking in the area. As a dining establishment in the south, you would assume the Lavender offers fresh-brewed iced tea, but that is not the case. The iced tea I ordered was canned, so this was a huge disappointment. The menu is medium-sized and I ordered the double smashburger with fries, as well as several small dishes of crispy potatoes and chicken wings to share with Valarie G. The service was exceptional, with the food arriving hot with an above-average taste for a hotel restaurant. Our entire experience lasted about an hour and a half, with no pressure to leave at all. I enjoyed our time here at the Lavender. It is highly recommended, especially if you want to enjoy delicious food and gorgeous views of the Savannah River. read more

Located atop the AC Hotel Savannah, the Lavender Rooftop Bar and Restaurant has a chill vibe. The color palette is neutral, a lot less showy than other rooftop bars in Savannah. With a low-key vibe, this is a great place to grab a cocktail, sitback and enjoy the river view. They have a delicious cocktail menu. I had the season pumpkin espresso martini. I'll be back to try the lavender martini. We ordered the crispy potatoes, which were good. My husband really enjoyed them. We also shared the smash burger. It was so good! One of the best burgers I've had in a while. The beer cheese on the burger was delicious. The spiral fries were also really delicious and such a large portion. We were pleasantly surprised!! We came here for breakfast and then for dinner later in the day. Both meals were delicious and very flavorful. Ingredients were fresh. And dishes were made with care. And the drinks were top notch. For dinner, we ordered the beet salad and chicken wings, and the burger and they were all delicious! They were not greasy and fried, totally unlike from the food available at other nearby riverfront restaurants. Also, I had the lavender martini and it was absolutely delicious. Not bad for a hotel bar on river street. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was relatively empty. The bartender and host were friendly and helpful. Most seats are reserved, which makes sense since it's a hotel bar, but that left a limited places to sit. We went to sit outside first, but it was unbearably hot! I think different sides catch a breeze and others don't. We changed our minds and sat inside at the bar. The bartender is small, but it was nice to sit there and still have a bit of a view of the river. The bartender made great drinks and was super personable. I could see us coming back, but not necessarily as a first choice. I know AC brunches are delicious, so maybe we'll come back to try that out. Great addition to the area! read more

Had reservations here to celebrate my mom's birthday while visiting Savannah. We asked to be sat outside and were seated at a corner table which had the most beautiful view, but it was in direct sunlight and we got hot fast. We asked to then be seated inside and were told that all the tables were already reserved, but they could put us on the couches which had a small coffee table. That was perfectly fine for our party, but I did notice that most of the empty tables inside never got used, and we were there for about an hour and a half. I tried some kind of pink margarita with a flower on top (might've been a seasonal drink; it wasn't on their normal menu) and the taste was fine but whatever milk/cream they put in it made it curdle a little which threw the texture off for me. For appetizers we tried the croquettes which were amazing and the best things we had. For my main I had the double smash burger which wasn't a smash burger; the patties were thick and a little too greasy for my liking. My experience here was alright and I'd consider going back because I did like the view and our waitress was very friendly, but the drinks and most of the food left something to be desired. read more

I had set a reservation for the soft seating but they messed it up and we ended up at one of the outside tables after standing around for about 5 minutes. Our waitress was nice but slow and not the most attentive person. We ordered crispy potatoes as an appetizer but they didn't come out until the meal did. The person who brought it out seemed like he had authority and said they would be taken off our bill, they were not. The potatoes were pretty tasty though. For my dinner I got the short rib. It was a generous serving and plated very nicely. The short rib was done well as were the potatoes they were served on. I do love broccolini, usually, but I was not a fan of their preparation. This is the first weekend they are open and I'm thankful to have gotten the chance to try them. It's an amazing space and has so much potential for greatness. Got to have some of their signature drinks (lavender martini and smoked Manhattan) and had some of their food as well. The chefs charcuterie board is amazing but did have to order extra bread because they don't give enough. The crispy potatoes with pesto aioli is delish. Their calacas fish tacos are amazing though a bit wet/messy. Sara was out server and she was awesome and attentive. As a local, we ventured out to try a new spot this evening - so Lavendar Rooftop Kitchen and Bar it is. This restaurant/bar is atop the AC Hotel on River Street. Their rooftop bar is lovely with cozy conversation pit seating along the perimeter acrylic railing to allow for unobstructed, amazing sweeping views of the Savannah River. The unusually cool breeze on this July evening was a pleasant surprise!! We were greeted by the hostess, seated quickly and our request to enjoy our cocktail on the patio rather than at our dining table was greeted with an enthusiastic "no problem!" My Smoked Manhattan was a perfect classic cocktail. While sipping on our drinks we ordered the Tomato Prosciutto consisting of one large slice of Italian bread topped with tomato, Prosciutto and cut into three pieces, $10. It was tasty, but not a reorder next time we visit. Their Duck Fat Fries were large steak type French fries served with a yummy sauce! Well where do I start , service it needs seriously improvement, if the restaurant is empty and you have full and extra staff. Don't you think someone will help you? Not that was not the case here we waited and waited I can see all the staff having a great conversation. Taking out that of the way food is decent but that's why I have appetizers only didn't want to take a chance after the wait . The staff at a Dennys is better prepared. it was as if it was their first day on the job. at 6:30pm, the outdoor tables were less than half full, yet is was hard to get a drink order, the drinks came without napkins. This is the rooftop bar at the new AC hotel downtown. The hotel itself was wonderful and the staff at the front desk was great. Lavender was actually very good for breakfast as well. We came here after being out for the day to have a nightcap and the staff was terrible. Completely disrespectful. The guy at the front desk told us that we could not get seats unless we were staying here or had reservations. We are actually guest at the hotel. There were seats at the bar so we just escorted ourselves over and asked somebody to move their backpack. We waited about 10 minutes before the bartender even paid attention to us. And even then, he seemed like he was totally put out by talking to us. We ordered a drink, drank it and left. I would recommend the hotel, but certainly not for the service at the bar. read more
