Initially the process was ok but I've never had an order take less than a week. Then I was told that insurance companies were "squeezing" them on pricing so I had to pay the difference between what insurance would pay and the profit they wanted. Finally they added a $30 "surcharge" to every visit. I finally had it after I picked up 2 prescriptions and the total was over $100! They also have inexperienced counter help who were unable to answer any questions and simply handed me a piece of paper that said the insurance companies were to blame. I had to take my business elsewhere, these people are taking out their anger at insurance companies on customers.

The town of Cayucos is pretty small and there's one main street that's really close to the pier. Luckily, I was able to find this cute little gift shop and scored an adorable refrigerator magnet along with a few other souvenirs. There aren't too many other options in this area as far as gift shops go, but luckily this one offers souvenirs that are decently priced. This shop has plenty of beach necessities such as beach towels, bathing suits, logo t-shirts, flips, flops, and sunglasses. Their interior setup makes it really easy to find specific items in the store. The lady at the register was really sweet and helpful. With the limited amount of gift shops in the area, it's nice know that there's a great little shop with a variety of decently priced souvenirs around.

If you're one of these folks, then visiting this small store will cause you to break out into your happy dance. Lots of beach stuff here, with about an even mix of gifts to take home to others, and "stuff you forgot" to bring to the beach (towels, those long t shirts when you don't want to wear your bikini to walk around, etc.) Sure, this is touristy. But do you live here? Then, Mildred, you're a tourist! Store staff was nice. Most items are on the north side of inexpensive, but Cayucos rents can't be cheap. So c'mon... just buy that little figurine made out of periwinkle shells and glued-on googly eyes... your grandma will just LOVE it.

This place has a large selection of handmade items created by local artists. What is most unique about Morro Made is the quality and the style of the items at a very reasonable price. I bought a couple pair of earrings, a few jade/gem bracelets, a couple pictures made with sea glass and a jellyfish wind shine. As I was walking out, I spotted a beautifully made driftwood garland. So I turned around and bought that too. There is so much more to explore in this shop. I definitely will be back and highly recommend checking it out.

The stop ended up being successful, with my wife picking up a tea cloth with Morro Bay embroidered on it. I'm glad I finally got a chance to check it out. The worker (I'm going to assume was the owner) was super sweet and very helpful. She was hand making bags to put all your goodies in and they were so cute. I ended up getting a few things so I got some that I'm going to regift. They have trinkets and gifts for every kind of person. There's cards, jewelry, art, products from locals and there was even a kid section. I found several things for myself as well as presents for others. I actually had to stop myself from spending too much, I wanted it all. It seemed like the vendors had autonomy to sell what they wanted. The single employee would call a vendor if there was a question from a prospective customer. Some displays were behind glass, but the majority were open, counting on the carefulness of customers. We stopped by to see if we could pick up a memento from Morro Bay, but no luck. My wife did end up buying a blouse from a brand that she liked, so the trip wasn't a total loss. I did enjoy slowly wandering down the cramped aisles...a lot of hobbyists displaying their passions: a lot of toys, comic books, and hardcover novels.
