Shopping here today and my wife turned to me and asked if the music had the f-word in it. I wasn't listening. As we shopped she cane back to me and said she needed to speak to the manager. She looked upset and come to find out yet another explicit song was playing. She voiced her opinion the the manager and he listened and said it was Pandora's fault. Anytime I visit Cayucos this is the first place I go to. The best surf shop in SLO county. I've been visiting Cayucos for over 17 years now and this is still my favorite spot. Weston and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to surfing and fishing. I love GCF's clothes as well and they do an amazing job on their designs. Plus they have rentals as well and are located in front of a great surfing beach as well as a pier to fish off of. I suggest to all my friends/family that are driving along the coast to stop in Cayucos and go to GCF and walk a few yards over to the best fish taco spot around, Ruddell's smokehouse. read more

We've always utilized this little gem for a last-minute summer wetsuit rental for out of town relatives. As locals, we've purchased multiple items (boards, leashes, wax, wetsuits, fins... you name it) and never have been disappointed with the quality of their products and the reasonable prices. They also have a fine selection of women's surf clothing. You will find much of this in neighboring Morro Bay, but I find that Good Clean Fun's fashions are more entertaining and original. Less searching for clothes that look good, which means more time for trying on... As a bonus, the staff here are incredibly friendly and warm (well of course... they are Cayucans!). Even when I return home, I always run into locals (past classmates, local businessmen, neighbors) in this joint. You know it's a great store when locals routinely visit... not just tourists! read more

Was in Cayucos on a family vacation over the weekend and wanted to give surfing a go. Born and raised in Southern California but believe it or not, I've never tried it GCF has the best reviews of the spots I checked out and it's well earned. This place has truly transformed into not only a great surf shop, but a beauty of a building!! The Christmas gifts I give Dad every year always come from here. It helps that the owner is a family friend and knows what Dad has broken, lost, ripped, chipped, dinged, etc. before I do, and is a great source for what needs to be replaced. The staff is always personable and they are great at fitting you for a board that fits your ability and style - thus the reason we come here first prior to giving lessons to friends and family members from out of town. Like most surf shops the prices are quite expensive, but there is always a sale rack that has some fantastic deals... The best deals used to be their Full Moon Madness Sale - don't know if this have this hush hush event still. And, as only some locals have experienced, the view from the attic-like bungalow is breath taking... and a great way to figure out where to start the morning surf patrol. I've been here multiple times and was very happy with everything. This place is one of the few places that rents out Fishing kayaks. Renting from them jump started a huge hobby of mine. They have plenty of rental items and a very cool selection of clothing and apparel. Highly recommend if you're a beach person or a fisherman! Not much to say... Five stars. I've been visiting this place ever since I was a "tween", so almost 20 years. I've rented from them numerous times and bought some very cool threads (as well as a board and a few skegs) there. This five-star review is based on my past experiences as well as my last visit, and I have to say that they are still the "go-to" place for surfer-assistance near the pier. They carry a great assortment of late-model boards, wetsuits and beachwear, as well as having a full line of accessories in their pro shop. Not just that, but their rental fleet is made up of some pretty decent stuff. This last week, I rented a wetsuit from them and because I rented it late in the day, they discounted the half-day price for me. Even though it was only two bucks, I didn't even have to ask for it, and they were able to tell me the best place to paddle out for that afternoon (their advice was good!). Anytime I'm in Cayucos, I HAVE to stop by GCF because they are honestly one of the best and friendliest surf-shops I've ever been to. Special thanks to the guy with the Jesus-Beard who talked sponge (bodyboarding) with me for almost half an hour. Wish I remembered your name Bro, but I'll be back this Summer. Five Stars. read more

We went in to rent a wet suit and and buy a boogie board for the week. And ended up buying a wet suit and boogie board. Macy was extremely helpful getting my kiddo fitted for her suit, and she isn't an easy fit (5'2 and weights 70lbs just tall and lanky). We tried 3 on (with lots of help) until we found the right fit and size. We are likely going to go back for a wetsuit for my husband as well as some lessons for the family this week. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for some good honest help with anything! read more

VIOLATED!!!! Please please look into the mirror and make sure there's no men upstairs looking into the dressing room. My aunt's and myself had a horrible experience there this morning. My aunt noticed she could see the stairs and wanted to know if that was public access... This was after we had been in there trying on dresses. I walked up to see... Wow! To my disgust I could view everything from the waist up! Just before we discovered this there was a " handyman" up there doing something with a measuring tape looking right into the dressing room. At that time there were two woman in the dressing room. The clothing is good quality they just really need to fix the view into that dressing rooms. After speaking to the sales clerk ( a male, 3 males working ) he pretended to care and said he would notify the owner. As we moved in to the next store we came to discover this has been a complaint for 10 years. read more

This place has a great selection of wet suits and boogie boards. The shop itself is very nice, lots of apparel for the beach (hats, sunglasses, sandals, cover ups etc). The younglings that work there are fantastic, good local knowledge without the anti-social SoCal surf attitude. Can't say enough about the employees here, really great. read more

We had a leash on a boogie board break and they swapped it out for us without any questions. I called a month before our trip to make sure we could do the Kayaking tour, with the understanding about the weather and how it could be canceled. We were only staying two nights and got in really late the night before, cell phone coverage was spotty and I could never get a hold of anyone at the shop to double check the weather. My husband and I got up at 6:15 am to meet them at the shop at 7:15am, even through we were extremely tired. No one was there, no one showed up, we called the shop several times, no answer. After heading back to our hotel, very disappointed, we found out later that day, they had the wrong number written down, it wasn't even close to my number. Then I was told we could definitely do the next morning, our last day, I really didn't want to get up that early again, but we agreed because we really wanted to do it. At around 6pm the night before, we were told the owner was not bringing the Kayaks down until two days after we left, so we couldn't do the tour....what??...so you didn't even have the Kayaks on the first day we were going to rent...that would of been good to know...by this time it was too late to set something up with another touring company...TOTALLY RUINED OUR TRIP!!!!! They sell kitschy beach wear and flip flops and the like, but their wetsuits, surfboards and other gear is a joke. It has a serious lack of selection and is terribly over priced,m. Suits were in very good condition and they gave use a good variety of oval raids for our various skill levels. Prices are very affordable for being the only surf shop in Cayucos. A wonderful surf shop in Main Street Cayucos. I was passing through and they not only have surf gear, but hats, local ocean-themed artwork, and quality gift items. The owners are really nice and stock many eco-friendly products on the shelves, including Fair Trade and solar energy items.
