    The so called Chicken Parmigiana.

The food was not good. There was barely a piece of chicken between the industrial breaded "pieces". Everything was out of a can or the freezer. Temperature of the food ranged from lukewarm to warm. The only fresh thing was the couple of slivers of Parmesan. The attention of the server was directed to more important things than guests. Very disappointing.

This is the second restaurant we went to in Cheboygan and the food was great! And again the atmosphere and decor didn't match the quality of the food. I love salmon, squash ravioli and beets but would not have paired them but the dish was prepared well and the flavors were fantastic! My husband ordered the ribeye steak and it was nicely seasoned and prepared. Would definitely come here again.

This is a great spot to grab a bite on the water! Service was good, food was good. We loved watching the boats while enjoying a nice meal. We would definitely recommend.

Swedish Meatballs, Glazed carrots, Mashed potatoes and grilled ciabatta bread. Delicious.

Swedish meatballs anyone?!? It was a wet chilly day in northern Michigan so I thought you can't go wrong with meatballs, mash potatoes and gravy. I was not wrong. The mashed and glazed carrots were absolutely melt in your mouth. The Swedish gravy and mushroom put it over the top! My meatballs were great...I'll say that three of the four meatballs were tender but one was rubbery and hard to eat. It was weird. Hopefully that was a fluke...as almost everything they make is amazing! They do no have a chicken dish anymore. Bummer. I miss a main chicken dish. They're chicken under a brick used to be my go to bc it was absolutely maxing on flavor but now there is no chicken option. There should be a chicken dinner option. The wait was longer than expected especially considering there weee only two table in service. Staff were friendly and accommodated my requests. Overall...this place hit all the notes...as usual. Bring back chicken dinner please!

Wow! Amazing service, delicious food, and the best atmosphere! We stopped by here for lunch and were so pleasantly surprised! It was a beautiful day, so we opted for the patio outside with the river view, and we were seated right away. We ordered all the beers on the draft list to try, the bing bang shrimp and cheese curds as an appetizer, and the apricot-dijon chicken sandwich and pub dub burger for entrees. We loved everything! The drinks were all very refreshing and on a rotating basis. The shrimp was super crispy, nicely coated with a sweet chili aoli sauce, and not over fried. The cheese curds were also well fried and came with a tomato based dipping sauce, which was very unique and delicious. The apricot-dijon chicken sandwich was recommended by the waitress (thank you so much!!!) and was absolutely to die for! We loved the sauce and tender chicken breast that was cooked to perfection and so juicy! Chef's kiss! My husband also loved the burger, which was a smash burger, and described it to be very tasty and perfectly seasoned. We would 100% stop by here again! Loved, loved, loved it!

Perfect little spot to take a nice lunch break. Fish and chips is amazing! They have a great menu and drink selection.

The person answering the phone seemed annoyed and not interested. They sharply answer no. I followed up with a question about how late they are open, since we might be going later in the evening. Again, a sharp response. We disconnected after that. This was clue number one. In the evening we arrived around 5:30. Not a single car was in the parking lot. That should have been clue number two. We asked where they would like a party of ten. They pointed said push table together wherever. Then mentioned, oh we have a modified menu. A list of about 10-15 items that were all deep fried only. We had picked this place due to their variety of items. This is something that 100% should have been told to us on the phone. Don't worry, we decided to go to another place for dinner after some of the members in our group did not want fried food. Only reason this is not a 1 star is I think the name is clever. Outside that. Poor customer service both over the phone and in house. I recommend avoiding.

This place was just as good as all the reviews told me it was going to be. The only problem I had…read morewas the menu that was listed on Yelp was way cheaper than it actually is now. The food and service were both great. The outside is a little sketchy looking but it was fine once we got inside. I added some updated pictures of the menus with newer pricing.

Shar was our server as she has been several other times we've dined here. She is attentive, friendly, and knows her stuff. As always, the food was amazing. My husband ordered the feature rainbow trout almandine and loved it. I ordered the feature 12 oz NY Strip with my shrooms. VERY flavorful and tender. My baked sweet potato side was amazing. The building is iconic northern Michigan and a must see. The interior, though interesting and full of character, is tired, dark, and even grungy. It needs a serious re-do and freshen-up. We will continue to dine here every chance we can and hope to see an upgrade on the decor.

Downside- prices were very high for the quality of the food ( we have some great steak restaurants in chicago so that's our comparison). I had the 6oz filet and my husband had the prime rib. Both were fine - not the best or worst we've had- but for $50 plus per entree I expect a nice piece of meat. The entree came with broccoli- overcooked mush- and choice of potato. I love baked sweet potatoes so that's what I ordered. It was tiny, maybe two inches, and when I cut it open it shrunk to half its size, like the turkey in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! The dinner salads are extra and $14 for the wedge. Not unusual for a steak house, but the wedge was an 8th of a head of lettuce. I had a vodka soda and my husband had coke. My husband ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert and loved it but it was $24. The kitchen/chef needs to up their game. We have no problem spending over $200 on a great meal, but not the quality that we got. Sides/vegetables are not expensive and pretty easy to get right. Not sure why they are cutting corners. Glad we experienced it but would not go back. The place is worth seeing but just have a drink at the bar and skip the food. Not worth it.
