Found this hole in the wall one year and have been going back ever since. It's a classic place and doesn't look like there have been any renovations in decades, but they make a great olive burger. All the typical fried food and shakes are on the menu. They take your order from your car or the few tables next to the parking lot and then bring the food to you. I am a huge fan of the drive-in restaurants. There is just something so Americana about the drive-in restaurant and always reminds me of the era that they came to prominence. The concept of the drive-in restaurant supposedly started in 1921 with a place in Dallas, Texas called Kirby's Pig Stand, but the drive-in restaurant came into its heyday in the 1950's and the success of the drive-in restaurant was definitely a product of America's love of their automobiles. Drive-throughs certainly did not help as the drive-in restaurants started to wane in popularity, but still places like Yeck's Family Drive-In so special. They have not only survived, but have continued to thrive as a viable part of their community. I guess olive burgers are a popular thing here in Cheboygan, Michigan and while different, it was definitely different in a good way. All in all, Yeck's Family Drive-In is a great place to enjoy a meal and I have to give it five stars. read more

Solid 3-star experience at this vintage drive in. We came for the nostalgia, and it didn't disappoint. Lots of vintage charm and great service from the servers who take your order carside and deliver it on old-school hook-on trays. Though curious, we didn't try the signature olive burgers, deep fried pizza (yes, deep fried), or deep fried ham & cheese. Food was decent--freshly cooked and delivered quickly. Nothing to write home about, but satisfying. I had a standard bacon cheeseburger, a hot dog, and Yeck's take on Tater Tots, here known as Spudniks. My fiancée tried the taco salad, and reported that the chili topping was oddly sweet. We finished up with a couple ice cream treats--a raspberry shake for me and a strawberry sundae with nuts for her. Very tasty, and a recommended finish for a visit to this nostalgic drive in experience. We came for the experience, and we got it. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the Cheboygan area. read more

Visiting and found this gem on a day excursion with my daughter and niece both under the age of 12. They had never seen a drive in before so they thought the experience was very cool. We opted to eat there to get the full drive-in experience. The food was also very good. Delicious burgers, dogs and fries, but the highlight for the girls were the milkshakes. So many flavors to choose from! My daughter got cherry and loved it. Liked that there were bits of real cherries in it. My niece opted for strawberry and said it tasted like strawberry essence. We visit the area every summer and definitely will keep this on our must list. In fact the girls were so impressed they requested that I write this review and give them as many stars as possible! read more

This is a real throwback in a great way! The kind of place I used to go to as a child back in the 1960s. I had an olive burger, which was a first for this native North Carolinian. It was a excellent. My husband's bacon burger was also great. The onion rings were great. And, I will be dreaming about that milkshake for a long time to come. Looks can be deceiving. Drop your fears and pull in, read the funky menu and ask questions if you need to. Great food , great service and great time. On September 5, 2020 my husband and I decided to stop at Yeck's Family Drive In for lunch. I had never been there before and he had only been there once, over 20 years ago. We saw on their sign that it was their last weekend open of the season, so we knew it was our last chance. The menu is on the building and very easy to read. They have a large menu, too. We just parked and the waitress came to us and took our order and then brought it on one of those trays that goes on the car window glass. We both got burgers and my husband got fries and I got onion rings. Everything was delicious! They don't salt the fries, they bring it to you in packets, so you can do it yourself to your preference, which is great for people who can't have salt. The fries were actually delicious with no salt at all! Everything was hot, fresh and amazing! The waitress was super friendly. We will go again more often starting next season. I can't believe I've always passed this place up, even though I've always lived locally! read more

The Yeck is one of the very few drive in restaurants left. The service is quick and the waitresses come right to your car. The food can be a little expensive but it is well worth the price. Every time I go there my experience is wonderful. The milkshakes are the best in all of Cheboygan. My favorite meal is the bacon burger with the spudniks (Tater Tots) with a chocolate peanut butter shake. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

You have to get a shake when you come here!! I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake. The food wasn't anything special, but the shake made the whole trip worth it.
