Went here for an açaí bowl. Cute place and looked like they were expanding. It wasn't too busy when we went so didn't take long to get it. I love açaí bowls and am always trying them at different places. This one didn't disappoint. We were on our way to the beach so what better way to enjoy a tasty açaí bowl especially when it's so close to the beach. It was so fresh and good! Oh my goodness. Tell me how our family has been vacationing in Oceanside for many years and we now only found this DELICIOUS gem!? To my shame, I've walked past Pier View so often, not even giving it a thought of consideration, as I judged the place by its exterior alone. It just didn't look vibey enough. That all changed on our most recent visit...After walking a couple miles to a completely different coffee shop, hubs and I found it closed. Bummer. The next closest place was Pier View. I hesitated. But I was desperate for a pick-me-up. We walked inside. "Oh wow, it's so spacious in here. And the girls working here look... cool...", I thought. We placed an order for a couple featured drinks and a lunch sandwich. Let me tell you. Everything was PHENOMENAL. It was SO GOOD we came back the following morning and brought the rest of our family to try our exciting find. Same amazing quality coffee, plus another amazing sandwich (a breakfast one this time). Went in for a medium iced gingerbread latte with oat milk $8 and change Girl behind the counter was nice, and my coffee came fast. They have a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers, nice outdoor seating as well as indoor seating with plenty of diversity in lighting. This mid-sized and local coffee shop was cozy inside and every table was taken since it was cold and rainy outside. There was quite a wait before you could order and while you wait for your drink. Nontheless, this coffee spot was very needed and we were able to share a caramel latte ice blended. I was surprised to find out no milk was a part of the drink when I tried asking to substitute the milk. It tasted pretty standard and alright, nothing too out of ordinary. For $6.50, I think it's more overpriced than I'd like since the coffee wasn't also strong. Maybe other drinks would be a better choice. The solo bathroom requires a code. Ambience is amazing. The open air, window seating was worth it all. I wanted a smoothie & ended up with the vegan sandwich which was delicious & ever so fresh. Service was decent. It would have been nice to see & fee more friendly faces (service related) but I'm not complaining. The food came out perfect & was delicious. The Pineapple Pete Kombucha was tasty. Coming here on a Saturday morning is a must for me before a mindful walk. Staff is so friendly, locals love to come with their pets, and the ambiance is so welcoming. I've been coming to Pier View Coffee Company for 2 years now. Ever since I've moved to Oceanside CA, I've been scouting out nearby cafés that will allow me to just relax, do some online work, get some coffee and a snack and there's even ice-cream for when I want a sweet-treat. Pier View Coffee Company appears to be a town favorite. I see many local patrons here frequently. Most customers are enjoying one of their various tasty pastries, sipping on some coffee or tea and surfing online or even reading one of the books that are provided in the free collection provided. The decor is truly unique and is filled with antique Oceanside trademark surfboards and wall murals. The huge black & white photo-art gives so much character. The bathroom is clean; probably one of the cleanest in the downtown area and that's because they have a key-lock on it and it is regularly maintained by staff. Their prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic too. I like to get a LIQUID LUNCH smoothie for extra protein and a filling treat. I love their breakfast paninis; try the O'Sider. There's a nice view of a busy intersection, which is perfect for people-watching. But the only quirk to being located on a busy street corner is that it can occasionally get noisy and distracting (may not be the best place to study). Overall, Pier View Coffee Company is a great little spot to relax and feed your belly! read more

I can't believe it's been over 16 years since I wrote my review for Pier View Coffee! I recently stopped by here with my husband and it's still the same as I remembered it...although I completely forgot I came here every time I drove from Irvine and bought a coffee and sandwich! Gah, I feel old...I can't even tell you what I ordered or if the sandwich I bought is still on their menu. However I still remember that sadness I carried with me when I drove from Orange County, only for it to dissipate when the friendly barista took my order and helped me forget about the issues I was having in grad school. It was nice to get a macchiato and just sit there and collect my thoughts, even though at the time I was at a crossroads with where I was at in life (I was only 24-25!). It's probably due to my multiple stop ins here that I have such a fondness for this place. Different faces work here now, but the vibe is still the same and the coffee drinks are still delicious. I am so glad they're still around as so many places I used to love in Oceanside have closed. It was nice introducing my husband to this place and even he was a fan of their lattes! I tried their iced matcha when I came to Oceanside for a beach day. I got unsweetened matcha with almond milk. It was pretty good, although the matcha flavor wasn't super strong. It seems like the milk diluted it a bit. But still not bad. I haven't tried their coffee but maybe they're more known for that. read more

I often stop here on my way to spectating athletic events on the beach. Okay for shy dogs. The lay out isn't super maneuverable with a stroller due to the way the line is structured, but it definitely doesn't stop me.
