Came for Father's Day without a reservation and also with a baby. The hostess stand was not that friendly or helpful. There was a wait of course but we were told there was open seating at the bar area. It was busy but I noticed there were a lot of families with kids so I didn't feel as out of place bringing my baby. We were able to find a table in the bar area thankfully and our waitress was amazing. Unfortunately, I forgot her name but she was so friendly, gave great recommendations from the menu and was very attentive. It's hard to come across that kind of service these days so I really appreciated it. The food was pretty good. We got the steak that came pre sliced with flaky salt and a side of zhoug sauce...so good. The artichokes with the aioli were also very good. If Wal-Mart and a zoo had a bunch of babies, this would be the offsprings. My goodness gracious. A.I. whiffed on this suggestion big-time, asking for a nice rooftop viewpoint to bring my family for a light dinner. Upon entrance, it is beyond cramped and chaotic (where are capacity enforcements, and that's just near the front half of the venue on the 6th floor. I had no clue this area was also used for hotel guests at the Mission Pacific, with ZERO dress code. You can come in flip-flops and a wife beater. There were kids, infants, some literally looked like mothers gave birth and then brought them from the hospital straight here like, WTF are these people thinking??? Ok, hotel priority, should've fact-checked that's on me, but it's just disgusting looking at the crowd here, absolutely abysmal. It makes Wal-Mart look like Rodeo Drive. I didnt see this awful of an assembly of people staying at Motel 6's. After our reservation was confirmed, we were led to a private area through a weighted gate door, I said good, away from the chaos. Instead, we were put in even more of a hellfire right in front of the pool which was littered with screaming, splashing kids left right up and down. Our seating areas were wet (see pics for proof) and my wife got her pants soaked by the time she realized it, I had to put a pillow underneath to avoid sitting on a soaked couch. Insanely traumatizing and epic fail+disaster. We ordered drinks they came 1 hour, yes 1 HOUR after our meals arrived, they took 50% off the drinks bill, when they should've (and really the whole bill) waived without question. Why??? Read on I'm just warming up. I must say, Kylie our server was extremely apologetic and super nice, which rendered the full tip amount, but she couldnt salvage this tragedy. They REALLY need to separate outside visitor dining reservations from hotel crowd, its ridiculous. There was a woman who bent over right in front of my mom, ass cheeks fully exposed, and changed bathing suits right in front of her so close that if my mom turned to the left, her nose would've been in her asshole. This is happening at 8pm. The food: Grilled Artichoke B+ Tuna Tartare F-, returned and refunded, disgusting Coulotte steak slices F-, Each family member took 1 slice and attempted to chew, every one of us spit out; unchewable sinew and gristle, $50 buck complete waste. Vadouvan Chicken Sando= A, shockingly delish and perfect. Marinated Seas Bass=A...like a ceviche super fresh. So in all, the service gets a star not for the delay of drinks but Kylie's compassion and demeanor and engagement with us, the food is all over the place but a 2* combined, and taking one star off for the insanely chaotic shit show a breath in front of us, the wet seats, and cherry on top, the bullshit 6% "service" charge tacked on. This is one of those "if I could give it 0 stars I would" situations lol We made a reservation specifically to watch the Iration concert going on at the amphitheater below and we were very clear about that when booking. The employee that helped us with our reservation was super kind and enthusiastic about us coming to watch the concert. We were told we could sit by the window and stand there to watch the show, but once we arrived, the manager repeatedly told us we couldn't get a seat by the window. This manager even turned on music during the concert??? Said he was "testing the speakers."Then shortly after, he came over and condescendingly told me I couldn't even stand by the window, even though THREE employees had told me I could. We ended up canceling our overpriced order and leaving because we couldn't see the show, which was the entire reason we were there. If you don't want people watching the concerts from the rooftop, just be upfront about that when taking reservations. Really poor communication and an incredibly disappointing experience. I will say, all of the women employees were so kind and understanding about our situation. Some were even visibly shocked about how the manager treated us. (I would like to note I'm assuming he was a manager, he was not wearing the same clothes as the other workers and he acted like maybe he was higher up than the others but I'm not sure) either way - horrible customer service by that man! read more

While our initial table setup was a bit tight and uneven, the seating host accommodated us graciously. Even with a fully booked reservation calendar, she made quick adjustments to move us to a comfortable spot with an unbeatable view. We ordered: House Chips: Crispy and packed with a delicious, zesty BBQ-style seasoning. Shrimp Toast: Easily a standout on the menu--flavorful, savory, and a total hit. Prime Beef Steak: Cooked to a spot-on medium-rare without unnecessary heavy toppings, letting the quality of the meat shine. Shrimp Special & Side Salad: The salad and off-menu shrimp special missed the mark for our personal taste--the shrimp packed a heavy kick of salt and spice that wasn't mentioned beforehand. Despite a couple of food misses, the ocean breeze, stunning scenery, and attentive service made for an enjoyable family outing. Visited the Rooftop Bar in Oceanside for some drinks on a beautiful Saturday. It was busy but we were able to get a table, enjoy some drinks with excellent service and then wander over to the bar to visit with the bartenders. Sitting at the bar was a lot of fun, we enjoyed how pretty the bar was, how friendly and personable the bartenders were and how delicious the drinks were. The view here is unmatched, it's worth paying the price for slightly pricey drinks just to drink in the view for a while. We went to the Rooftop Bar for my bestie's birthday and basically ordered our way through the entire menu! Most of it didn't even make it into the pictures because we were too busy eating. The stars of the show were definitely the artichokes and oysters--both were absolutely incredible and are must-orders in my opinion. On July 4th at 5pm, I visited the rooftop bar by the pool area of the hotel we booked for the holiday weekend. Instead, I had a highly unprofessional experience with bartender Eric. I simply wanted to ask what he was serving and clarify the seating/pool arrangement, including any differences for hotel guests versus outside visitors. Instead of answering or letting me finish a single sentence, Eric repeatedly talked over me, curtly stating it was "sold out" with no explanation. When I tried to understand what exactly was sold out (the hotel, the pool, the rooftop bar, or seating), he continued interrupting and directing me to the hostess stand. He even scolded me that he had already repeated himself four times, while adding that I wasn't asking the question that mattered although he never let me finish a sentence. The entire interaction felt dismissive and almost hostile and condescending (insinuating I can't understand because of my ethnicity and that he was actively trying to make me leave rather than provide basic service or information) It was especially disappointing on a holiday when hospitality standards should be at their best. No amount of busyness excuses such rude, impatient, and condescending behavior toward a guest who was simply trying to ask a reasonable question. The hostesses were extremely nice and explained to me the difference between cabana, restaurant, and the pool seating for hotel guests vs non guests. The place is kinda cool. Great scenery from the rooftop, located on the 6th floor of the Mission Pacific hotel. It closes at midnight which is a little early for a weekend night. The ambience is nice but it's a bit small with limited seating. The music is chill, live dj spinning records, with a deep house vibe. It is a bit chilly at night but I like the warm firepit, if you can snag a table with one there. They do kick you out 10 minutes before closing to ensure everyone is off the premises on time, since it shuts down so early. If you're still working on your drink, they'll pour it into a paper to go cup for you, and send you on your way. They should consider staying open later... Maybe 1:30 am. read more

Service here can be spotty but this visit it was good. The shareables are a great option for a group and the food is good. It's pricey but I expect that since it's attached to the hotel. We purchased daypasses to the rooftop pool at the Mission Pacific Hotel on Sunday and ordered some small plates and drinks on our visit. Our server for the whole day was Noah, and HUGE props to that young man!! He was always one step ahead of us asking for ANYTHING and that was on top of being completely swamped with guests. He was fun, energetic, professional, and so well versed with their offerings which was a big reason why our first ever visit was one to remember and one to keep us coming back. Thank you Noah, we hope to see you again soon at the pool & we hope that you get recognition you deserve for outstanding service! Now, to the food and drinks! We ordered the seafood tower, bottle of sparkling rose and laphroaig on the rocks to start. The seafood tower... well... it was as fresh tasting as it gets. The accouterments were superb in pairing with the oysters... and the tuna tartare as well as the marinated sea bass were absolutely delicious especially paired with the perfectly seasoned tarot root chips. After the rose disappeared, I ordered the Teramar cocktail and it was what you would imagine should be drank poolside. A perfect balance of sweet, sour and tropical all in one. Later I ordered 3 (or 4 I don't remember haha) of the winter glow. Now, I dont like vanilla flavored adult beverages, but I saw it had earl grey tea, and I was intrigued. Well safe to say... I really really like it. It was like nothing ive had before and soooo smooth for what was in it. Definitely give that one a try! We also ordered the chicken sando and shrimp toast. The chicken sando was perfect, but the shrimp toast? Chefs kiss! I could eat that all day if you let me. Again, I have to say that Noah made our experience so much better... and although it was SO very busy, he did his absolute best to communicate slow downs happening at the bar and just made sure we knew we were never being forgotten. My boyfriend, his mom, and myself were and are still blown away. We will 100% be back, hopefully on a more regular basis. This place is exactly the hype everyone states online. The rooftop wasn't full at all, plenty of open seats. But every round of drinks we ordered took over 35 minutes to come out, it was crazy! You'd think if you're charging $18 a drink you'd want to serve them quicker so people keep ordering... we ended up leaving and heading to another bar on the 101 bc at that point we'd been there for almost 3 hours and were only able to get 2 rounds. read more

I came here with my wife for sunset, we ordered a Mezze platter and our server, Liv suggested we pair it with a bottle of duck horn. It was delicious. They have a very wide selection of liquors and wine. I recommend the steak and prawns with the mezze! The combination was amazing. Food was top tier and high quality. The cocktails took a little while but I must say service made up for the wait. Liv gave us a comedy show on top of excellent service. The entire staff elevated the experience. Our toddler liked climbing on the couch and soft cushions surrounding the covered pool, and we got lucky with the weather in late November since it was nice and sunny with a cool breeze (mid-60s!). I ordered the passion fruit spritz mocktail ($10) while chilling here before heading down to the oceanside pier itself. When we left, we saw a ton of hotel guests having brunch as well, so it seems like it's a popular place to be! The rooftop did end up closing early for a private event (wedding?) from the early afternoon all through the evening, which can put a damper on your plans if you'd like to come here for the sunset or an afternoon dip in the rooftop pool. read more

Stopped by this spot recently -- the vibes are honestly great. The bar is beautiful and well-designed, definitely a place you'd want to hang out for a while. Ambiance hit the mark. That said, service was noticeably slow. The staff was friendly enough, but not very efficient. There also seemed to be some questionable sanitary practices behind the bar. Bartenders went from handling cash and cards straight to shaping a cucumber garnish with bare hands, and I watched another grip a cocktail ice cube with his full palm for my drink -- not exactly reassuring. I ordered The Jetty, their twist on an old fashioned. Unfortunately, it was way too sweet for my taste. If you're a fan of a more spirit-forward old fashioned, this might not be the one for you. Overall, solid atmosphere, but the execution behind the bar needs a bit of polishing -- both in speed and hygiene. Note: there is a 6% surcharge. Not sure what this goes towards? But let's hope the saying "alcohol kills germs" is true. read more

We weren't able to get seated on the rooftop dining terrace on a Tuesday evening around 7pm where we were hoping, so we decided to dine by the pool, the hostess was friendly. The views from the rooftop were outstanding and watching the sunset was amazing! The server and food were pretty slow. Took over 15 minutes to be greeted which in my book is a "red flag". Server wasn't very friendly or welcoming, didn't go out of her way to do anything extra or above and beyond at all other than taking our order. Food took about 30 minutes which isn't too bad, we ordered the chicken sandwich, cheese monger, & feta dip. The food was very good once we got it. We asked for more pita and bread for our apps and we received it pretty much after we were done eating but we didn't mind because we could tell it was fresh and understood it probably took some time to come out of the oven. I wanted to love this place but the service took it down to 5 stars. Also, we were charged $6 for a club soda, and weren't thrilled about that. It felt a bit sneaky to charge for rhat. We had to go in the hotel and ask for directions. Once we got to the top floor, it had a great view and they were very busy. It was hard to accommodate for a group of 9, but they found seating us seating under some heated lamps. It was nice because it was cold out, especially being next to the beach. Our server seemed like he did not want to be there. We all got our orders in and shared all the food. The oysters were good. The platter with steak and sandwiches were good, but the vegetables were average. The total came out to ~$400, but we were still hungry so we decided to leave and get more food. The prices were extremely expensive, but the pool and atmosphere was amazing.
