My husband and I walked in today and instead of a friendly greeting the owner Christina quickly asked us (with an attitude) if we had an appointment and as soon as we said no she didn't give us a chance to even say we just wanted to look at their jewelry and prices before cutting us off saying we needed an appointment and they were booked up until 6 something that day. When I finally had the chance to say why we were there she said it wasn't possible for us to look around because they are an appointment only shop. I get businesses have policies and she may have been overwhelmed with the load of the day but her delivery was very rude and off putting. It's unfortunate because we would have booked an appointment if we saw what we were looking for but I wouldn't trust someone so rude to pierce my skin. read more

I came here in 2018 to get my initial nose ring and the experience was awesome! Lou was my technician who explained everything well and helped me with my nose ring of choice. I came back in 2019 and he also replaced my nose ring for me and again. Fantastic experience! Today was another story. My nose ring popped off and I was in need of a new ring. I made an appointment with Julie. I arrived on time and Julie was awesome. Seemed really nice and gave me a wipe to wipe my hands. She also did a fantastic job sterilizing my new ring I purchased and put really good instructions etc in my to go bag. However, the issue occurred with the owner Christina Blossey who was very rude. She asked for my covid card. Nothing is wrong with this request! In fact, it's almost standard when you are entering any type of place with aesthetics because you are so close to people's facial openings where you can easily contract upper respiratory infections. The website says if you are getting a new service you must provide a covid card. I was not getting a new service but a nose ring change. I flew down here from Gwinnett to come to my appointment and did not bring my card. For 2 reasons, the government just lifted all covid restrictions last week so I wasn't sure with their covid policy showing last July if this applied or not. I assumed it didn't.. I am still respectful of the mask policy anywhere I go and would be willing to even show a negative covid test but at this point but their outdated covid policy (from July of last year) does not require you to show proof of a vaccination card it only says for new piercings. This process is just outdated as the federal and state level has dropped the restrictions. I understand completely safety first but if you are wearing a mask and are fully vaccinated, there should be no reason for having to show a vaccination card. In fact, how am I to know they are fully vaccinated?? Or better yet How do I know they aren't carriers of Covid-19? On top of the inconvenience, I was being rushed by her. When I couldn't show her my card and my phone died to show the digital copy, she went in to tell Julie that basically I was lying. I heard her whispering. She didn't want me to buy the jewelry either and kept trying to discourage me from getting it unless they were putting it in. I decided the situation was feeling weird and the owner gave the vibes feeling my business wasn't welcomed. I purchased the ring today because I needed it but I will not be going back. I did not receive the same experience as my first visits and surprisingly by the OWNER. Then she kept making jokes about gold going up when I inquired about why were the rings almost twice the price as the last two I purchased. She also made reference to omnicron going around. Just felt really awkward. Then while Julie was sterilizing my ring I asked Christina if I could step outside to take a work call and she kept saying they were almost finished but weren't. So I then asked if I could take the call and she flagged it off but really didn't want me to. Just wasn't friendly and I did not feel safe or welcomed by her as the owner. Her staff are really awesome like really good at what they do. She should probably take some lessons from them and work on her customer experience. EXTREMELY unprofessional and condescending establishment. DO NOT BOOK HERE FOR ANY PIERCINGS. Unfortunately, I did not read any reviews beforehand and had an awful experience with the owner of this business. I scheduled an appointment for a jewelry change for downsize through their website, which clearly stated that downsizing services were available for piercings done elsewhere--no consultation required. I had my tragus pierced out of state 6 weeks ago and simply needed the back downsized. When I arrived, Arthur at the front cash register was friendly. However, things went downhill quickly when Christina came out. She looked at my piercing in the lobby (not even in a private room), said it wasn't healed enough for downsizing yet, and advised me to return in a month. So far, fine. I then asked how to schedule a follow-up and how my payment could be applied to that future visit. That's when Christina became extremely rude and unprofessional. She told me the payment was for "speaking to her today," and added, "You didn't even get your piercing done here." She claimed that if people didn't pay to speak to her, everyone would come in and "waste her time." I explained that I booked a service, not a consultation, and that the website does not mention any extra requirements for piercings done elsewhere. I requested a refund. Her response? "I can refund you $5, that's the difference." Overall, Christina was dismissive, condescending, and completely unprofessional. I left feeling disrespected and ripped off. Extremely rude & condescending service. One of the most repelling places I've been to in ATL. I had my 3rd hole ear piercing done here recently. I spent over $1K on 2 sets of diamond/gold earrings & the new piercing. They refused to send me the receipt for the jewelry, & only sent the receipt for the piercing, which is suspicious. The jewelry selection is extremely rushed. If you don't decide within 5 minutes they get visibly agitated. They make you sit in your car until your appt as you are a diseased human, & are very threatening if you are 1 minute late. However it's ok for them to be late. I asked 4 times during my appointment to be shown how to insert flat back earrings because I had never seen them before and that is what I payed over a thousand dollars for. They ignored me 4 different times and ushered me out the door. Yesterday I decided I would go in for my checkup, as my right earring had been bothering me. The lack of receipt for my jewelry now has me very concerned, as I have just realized the earrings are I received are different. I am now wondering if they sold me 1 real diamond earring and 1 as a cubic zirconia. Yesterday, at the checkup, Christina was late for my appointment. The lights were all off like they were ready to leave and Christina comes out with a flashlight and flashed my ears in less than 1 second and said looks good. I drove over an hour to get the checkup. When I called they said checkups are very very important and they could adjust the inflamed ear - which I now realized is because they sold me 2 different earrings. The appt was a complete waste of time. I am taking the earrings in for evaluation to a legit jeweler asap. Very unfortunate running into their regrettable unhappy personalities! They deleted my original review, so I'm posting it again. I came to piercing experience for a navel piercing, which was overpriced, and required a seemingly excessive amount of paperwork, but I assumed it was just the cost of good service. When she first piercing my navel I checked in the mirror to see that it was visibly crooked which I pointed out and she agreed with and said she would fix, which I assumed meant readjusting the jewelry but no, she repierced it in a slightly different spot which hurt quite a bit. After doing so she offhandedly mentioned that the first failed piercing attempt may leave a scar. When I got out to the parking lot (with no apology or refund) I began to bleed everywhere over my clothings and hands. Since the original hole no longer had jewelry nothing was stopping the blood flow. However when the ball of my jewelry came off the evening before I was leaving the country, the staff was extremely rude and not intrested in helping me. I emailed the owner with my experience and Instead of trying to resolve it, Christina sent a horrible email to me basically suggesting I take my business elsewhere. She then blocked me from all social media. This is the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. They still owe me an aftercare check but I'm not likely to receive that. I am very pleased with my experience at Piercing Experience! I booked an appointment to get my helix pierced the other weekend and was able to book within the same day. Before arriving, I was informed of the COVID protocol for this establishment, which made me feel very safe & at ease getting a piercing. Obviously, if you feel sick, you cannot visit the parlor. You must only arrive at your appointment time as they limit the number of customers in the store AND you must wear a mask. I arrived on time to my appointment and the gentleman working the front desk was very hospitable. He gave me the waivers to fill out for COVID & piercing protocol and had me pick out my jewelry prior to getting the piercing done. When my piercer was ready after thoroughly sanitizing the piercing room, he made me feel very at ease and again reminded me about cleaning protocol for my new piercing and what to expect. I have several piercings, but it is always good to be reminded of what is to come and also after care. He also recommended, as they do with all customers, to come back within 6-8 weeks for a check up. Unfortunately, I have moved out of town back to Michigan (where I am from). He knew several people in the area (seems as if he has a strong network of seasoned professionals) and knew well of Ann Arbor, MI in which I could visit a local shop for a check up. I plan to move back to Atlanta in a year or two, and I will definitely go back to this establishment and recommend it to my friends! read more

I normally don't do Yelp ratings, but my experience, specifically the jewelry prices, was not ok. So I got four lobe piercings...I arrived and was asked to pick out jewelry. I was not told the price of any of the earrings, which is ok, fine. I first asked if one metal was better than the other for new piercings, I was told no. (subsequently read surgical stainless steel is best). I then asked if the gold, rose gold, and one other option were all the same price and I was told they were. The only other two options were the diamonds (more expensive) and lowest metal option - I think it was surgical stainless steel or titanium, but I'm not positive. I ended up with a pair of the 2mm rose gold studs and 2mm RG cubic zirconia studs. TINIEST I could possibly get. My total price for the two pairs of earrings (not including the piercing cost w/tip) was $367.69!!!...$367.69...After doing some research, I can't for the life of me understand the justification for that insane markup. Christina was very kind and did a great job, but those prices don't make sense. I understand how markups work, but the price I paid is insane for what I got. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. At my appointment time, I was promptly allowed to enter the business. Once inside, I met Christina, my piercer, and another gentleman near the cash register. Both were professional and helpful throughout my experience. Overall, I am happy with my piercing experience, and I would recommend this business to my friends with the following disclosures. Cost- I got a second hole in both of my earlobes. The cost stated on the website is $60. Once there, you are required to purchase the jewelry from the Piercing Experience. On my appointment day, Christina showed me options for a matched pair of earrings. If you want to know the cost of the earrings, you must ask, because prices are not displayed. Once I selected a pair of earrings, I was told that this set of earrings would cost me $300. I would want my friends to know that unlike other piercing shops I have been to, you can buy quality jewelry if you come to this piercing shop. If you have a set budget, let your piercer know so that he or she can direct you to options that fit your budget. You can also check out the prices for the jewelry online. Gratuity option- You must pay for the service before being pierced. You will have the option to add gratuity at the time of payment. I recommend asking if you may give a gratuity after the service. I also recommend thinking about if you will give a gratuity on the total bill or if you want to give a gratuity based solely on the service. For example, the service that I am paying for is the piercing which, according to the website, is $60. The earrings that I purchased were $300. If I give a 20% gratuity based solely on the service, I will give $12. If I give a 20% gratuity on my total bill, I will give $72. Consider how you may want to proceed before entering the store. In closing, I would like to state again that I am happy with my piercing and that I would recommend this business to my friends. As a consumer, I realize that I need to perform my due diligence prior to purchase, but I believe that this business could be more upfront with the required add-ons to give consumers a more realistic idea of their total projected costs. read more

I've been here twice, the first time was in 2010 (4 years ago now, my God...) and then last week, exactly 4 years later. I decided to treat myself to another birthday piercing. The first time was a basic cartilage piercing, and this time I decided to be a little more adventurous with a tragus piercing (oh my!) The website where I made my appointment was extremely straightforward. I selected the type of piercing (complex cartilage). It redirected me to choose my piercer (Christina) and the times available throughout the week. I preferred making the appointment versus walking in like I did the first time, since there was no wait and I could get on with my day as planned since everything was so punctual. I walked in at 2:00 on a Saturday, and there were two other people also in queue. However I had an appointment from 2-2:30 so the guy at the counter promised to get to me ASAP. I had to wait in the cushy couches with my friend. After helping the first customer, he had me come up and sign some papers, pick out some jewelry, and he gave me his undivided attention. He helped me choose a good color jewel for my skin tone that wouldn't be so small that it were unnoticeable. Christina was kind of busy, but came out and got me after another short wait on the comfy couch. She calmed me down, talked me through the aftercare procedures, and marked the place on my ear she would pierce. After some adjusting, she had me lay back in the chair that looked like it belonged in a doctor's office. She sanitized my ear and massaged it lightly before asking me to breathe in and breathe out slowly while she pushed the earring through my tragus. I think in that moment I decided never to pierce my other tragus. Ever. However I'm sure she made it as painless as she possibly could, pushing a piece of metal through the thickest cartilage in my ear. The process was simple, and Christina made it as "painless" as she could. I'm very satisfied and I definitely recommend coming to Piercing Experience for your first piercing and your last. Quite pricey but I know in general this is about the price range for a piercing AND jewelry. I've heard you can bring in your own jewelry as long as you meet their specifications, but I didn't mind spending the 20 dollars for something that will be good (healthy) for my ear and last for a long time. read more

While I am sure that this is a lovely establishment, they have poor customer service. I called to see the likelyhood of my being able to swap out my nostril piercing for a hoop. Knowing this may be a challenge, during this pandemic, I made sure to have a list of questions. How easy or hard it might be? What are the covid restrictions? What would I need to do to make this happen? How would I be assured that my item would be in stock? A nice gentleman walked me through all of it, told me to book an appointment, and send in a photo of my nostril, so that they could measure it. Knowing this was odd, I even offered to send in a photo next to a tape measurer, and he told me that that was unnecessary. And that they would look at the photo, and be able to assist me from there. I set up the appointment online, and emailed them my photo. I then received an email from the owner, Christina, saying "Unfortunately, we simply cannot size your nose for a ring from a photo." I told her that this WAS unfortunate, and explained to her the above. She then emailed me back saying, "I've checked with everyone here and they assured me that they wouldn't have told anyone that a picture would be sufficient to properly size nose jewelry." Basically calling me a liar. She then continued to be condescending via email. While I will never, if you choose to support this establishment, have everything in writing. I don't think that they have everything all together, and what it looks like is that those issues start at the top. Glad that they aren't the only ones who do what they do. read more

Updating this review and giving five stars even if I had my piercing removed, I think the owner of this salon knows what's shes doing. The person who removed my cartilage piercing said my hole was perfect, no bumps. And in the past I've had issues with bumps and infections not only from my own lack of care but probably from the shop I used to go to too. Even though I was too lazy to take care of my cartilage piercing it was healing correctly and I'm glad that I had a good experience here with Christina . Before you go to the mall to get another ear piercing...DON'T. Come here instead. I have had my cartilage and earlobes pierced at least three times, and each time, I had to remove them because they didn't heal correctly or they became infected. For the past couple of months, I've been wanting to get my ears pierced, but I didn't want a teenager with a piercing gun to be the one to do it. My niece came to this place a couple years ago to get her nose pierced, and I was impressed with how clean and sterile the rooms were, and how knowledgeable each piercer was. Ultimately, those were the same reasons I came back. There is a huge mural on the side of the building--when you see that, you know you've come to the right spot. You can park in the back and walk around. Inside, it's mellow and quiet--phone calls aren't permitted, which I liked. Be prepared to pay some serious money for both the piercing and the jewelry. Your piercing, no matter how simple, is not gonna cost $50. I'd say at minimum, it'll be $100. Zack was my piercer. He was friendly, funny, and explained what he was doing the entire time. I was in and out in no time. What I'm most impressed with is that my ears DON'T HURT. If I accidentally brush one of the piercings, it doesn't feel like my ear is going to fall off. They look and feel like they've always been there. They even do a follow up visit, just to make sure everything is healing well. If you wanna get pierced the right way (they do all types of piercings too, not just ears), come here FIRST! read more

So, it's been approximately four days since I got my ear pierced (a helix)...I wanted a bar but chickened out at the last minute. Anyway, I'm absolutely ecstatic about this piercing. I love it; it was worth it and now I want another one. I was low key nervous when I got there but upon arriving I was kind of immediately calmed by a younger girl who was getting her nose pierced. Now this is by far my first piercing but when it's been a while nervousness kind of get the best of me. Anyway, I asked her a couple of questions and she asked me. Both Christina and Lou came out and both were extra calm. My appointment was with Christina so she came out greeted me told me she was going to get my kit ready and meanwhile (I think his name is Jonathan...I hope I'm right) he got me started on my paperwork. I immediately got a warm and fuzzy because they have you fill out this questionnaire to ensure your not a health risk to yourself or their business (you know normal stuff) and then they give you a brochure after Christina or Lou comes back out to check your answers ask you questions check your ID (you know the normal stuff). Anyway, the brochure has your cleaning instructions then comes the fun stuff...picking your jewelry. Depending on what kind of piercing you get she will give you a variety of choices to choose from. Don't worry there are enough choices to go around. You pay and get cleaning solution and then a short period of waiting for her to complete the preparation then it's time. Christina was very calm and talked to me the entire time. I told her what my friend told me the experience would be like but I have to say it was not as bad as I thought it would be even with details. I took a deep breath in and on my exhale my piercing was done. Just a pinch and I'm done. I will be going back after I decide what's next. In true form, Lou is an absolute heartbreaker. He made me cry the first time I ever met him... I had no clue getting your nose pierced would cause the tears to flow... damn reflexes! I was nervous, excited, and all the things. Plenty of tattoos, but I've only ever had my ear pierced so I was a little anxious about the whole nose piercing. Lou, however, was an absolute stud. The owner is extremely rude and I believe is extremely racist if I'm being Frank. I witnessed an altercation in the parking lot prior to her opening yesterday and I was disgusted. I didn't even want to go in and receive services at that point. It was extremely distasteful to see especially from another fellow lady whom is a entrepreneur. I took my husband to get his very 1st piercing today. This was where I got my nose pierced maybe 4 years ago. Because the experience then was great we decided to go back. The woman at the counter was not that pleasant and she failed to give us any details about what NOT to do before getting pierced. It was my husband"s birthday and he had a few drinks but did not know he couldn't get a piercing for that reason. I paid up front and also made a same day appointment so of course I couldn't get my money back due to their policy. I mentioned to the owner that saying that up front would be great but she only said "If we could give all details upfront then"...What that even means, who knows? No apology. Just dry unfriendly faces. I will never return for services and will never recommended this place as I have done in the past. Chistina's (owner) attitude was terrible! Update: I returned 7/29/18 for a refund. I purposely went a few minutes before 12 to ensure I'd be the 1st person there. The owner initially refused to come out of hiding to speak to me even though the guy at the counter told me her 1st appointment was at 1pm. When she did appear after peeking around the corner she told me there's no chance of me getting a refund and THEN called the police on me. As a black woman I know why the police is called. This place is very well rated so I gave it a shot based off a friends recommendations. I made an appointment online and showed up well in advance with a friend who also was getting some piercings. She had been there before and done her homework, so I trusted that we were going somewhere professional, and clean. However, I was turned off the moment I walked in. The people working there are so unfriendly. We were not greeted with a "hello" or greeted at all for probably the first 10 mins of us entering the studio. No one else was there... so I was very turned off by that. When we finally were approached, the lady was very rude, short, and provided next to ZERO information or clarity on any questions asked. Options were not explained well at all.... I asked how much something was her answer was "about $35". She did not specify until she later rang me up that they were $35 EACH! The up-sell there is insane. I only got my ear piercings reopened, as the normal ear piercing had not fully closed over. My jaw hit the floor when the total was $100......... I should have left then and there. I was also told, if the holes actually closed and she had to re-pierce, it would be an additional ~$45 charge...... He!! no... Had they have been a little nicer I might have been able to pick my jaw up off the floor, but they were some of the rudest people ever. The only star I will give goes to Christina, as she did a good job and once we were back in the room she was very friendly and professional. However I would say overall this place needs an attitude adjustment and welcome their paying customers a bit more. I was not impressed with this place or the employees. I was in a bind and needed new body jewelry quick. They're other reviews taking about how rude the staff was and that was my experience as well. I have never come in contact with tattoo/piercers who were ever this rude. They were not helpful or very knowledgeable. They also had an extremely limited stock of body jewelry. Again, I've never had such a limited selection. I usually go to Virtue & Vice for my piercing needs and suggest you do the same. read more

Overall, it was just an ok experience. The lady working at the desk was not helpful at all, & didn't bother to tell me any prices of the jewelry before I picked one out, so I was shocked at how much I ended up paying for the piercing & jewelry, which was over $100. My piercer was very knowledgeable & answered questions that I had about getting my daith pierced. Piercing was easy & over quickly. I was kind of surprised that the only aftercare I was told to do was just use a saline wound wash. My piercing is still healing and I have found that a sea salt soak has helped heal it a lot better than just using the saline alone. I'll most likely try a different place for my next piercing since the the pricing & lady at the front desk didn't leave me with the greatest impression of this place. read more

What a truly professional and relaxing experience when I went in to get a poorly done L shaped nose ring replaced. From the moment I called to make the appointment (such a smart move to require these) to the call about coming in earlier...to the moment I walked out the door, I knew I was dealing with true professionals. The initial gentleman carefully examined what I had (loose L shape which was causing scarring), showed me the jewelry and helped explain the differences, then had the piercer (gosh I forgot his name) take a look and talk me through what he would do. Overall...1 week later...my scarring (ugly nose bump) is just about gone, my nose is healing beautifully, and I HIGHLY recommend this place. Went with a friend to a get rook piercing. $40 deposit for the appointment time.. then $250 for a tiny gold ring?! The deposit does not go toward the ring price. Holy smokes Batman!! Deposit is not refundable.. ask ring prices before going. They were slammed packed and the facility looked clean. However, We ended up going to Kolo and it was much more affordable and we felt more comfortable. read more

In Which You're Driving By A Piercing Shop, Do A U Turn and Swiftly Have a Hole Punched In Your Nose The last time I pierced my nose, it involved an ice cube, a stray earring, and punk rock ovaries in my teenage bedroom. It was also 20 years ago. Suddenly struck with the inspiration to reopen old holes, I decided to go about things differently this time. Having already read the glowing reviews about Piercing Experience, a random drive on McClendon turned into Hey, I'm Going To Pierce My Nose Right Before Lunch. Christina came out and greeted me. We briefly chatted about what I wanted, I selected a flat titanium stud and paid up. Just about five minutes later, I was brought into what looked like a surgical suite. I hopped on the bed thinger and laid on my side. Next thing I know, it's done. It's been a few weeks since my piercing and I'm due for a checkup / earring change in about 3 more. I've had no problems whatsoever and the entire experience was a breeze. I think I'm like the first person to give this place a bad review but I'm sticking to it. I got my nose re-pierced here about a year ago after I had originally gotten it done at another place (i had to get it redone because I took my first one out for a job.) I will admit the interior seemed very impressive and they do seem to know what they're doing but Brian just seemed to take himself way too seriously. He was very condescending about my previous piercing job and went on and on about their sloppy technique. He raved about his sterilization process and bored me to death with his explanations. His whole speech was rehearsed and repetitive and It just really annoyed me. In total, the whole job cost me about $80 and the bar nose studs that they specialize in kept falling out of my nose! I went back about three times to get it replaced after falling out and once to get a new "discreet" stud for my job. I asked for a clear one (what my boss told me to get) and he spend about 20 minutes arguing with me that the nude color was actually more effective in hiding the piercing. When I disagreed with him he asked me where I worked and then claimed that he has several other customers that work at the same place as me that "swear by" the nude color. Finally, I let him convince me only to go to work the next day and get yelled at by my boss. Afterwards, I went back and insisted on the clear stud which in my opinion (and my boss') did a much better job of looking discreet. After about 5 times of my bar falling out before healing, I gave up and let my piercing grow back. Six months later I decided to repeat the whole experience at Kolo (down the street in Little 5: they also specialize in piercing-only) and the whole thing only cost about $45. read more
