I went to Virtue & Vice to get my ears re-pierced after having them pierced 20 years ago. I had a phenomenal experience at V&V from start to finish. They were extremely diligent in their adherence to sterilization protocols and examination of my initial piercings. Because of Randy's careful examination of my ears, only one ear needed a full re-pierce and the other ear just needed a slight stretch in the piercing. It was much less painful this time around than it was 20 years ago (w/a piercing gun at Claire's!). I had such a great experience here I would definitely return and get additional piercings! I popped into this place for a piercing removal and I'm SO glad I came here and nowhere else. Needing a piercing removed before giving birth and being one who isn't up for enduring pain for ink & piercings like I was when I got it, I needed to find THEE best place to do it, not just any place. I had attempted to remove it myself and, TOTAL FAIL. I searched Yelp a number of times and kept returning to Virtue & Vice due to the reviews. One stipulation I had while on the hunt for this place was that I only wanted a female piercing tech. So I called Virtue & Vice telling them what I was looking for and asking if they would be able to accomodate. They were so helpful and patient! I asked a bunch of questions that were quickly answered and the gentleman that I spoke to even gave me the names of the female techs along with their availability. That call sealed the deal for me! While in the area one day I decided to pop into Virtue & Vice and finally tackle this task. HU: the parking lot is quite tight as the plaza is a small one. I didn't have an issue finding a spot but I can only imagine how it would be on a crazy day. The shop was bright and airy, and I was greeted so warmly upon entry by two young ladies at the front counter. I let them know what I was looking for and was told it'd be a 15 minute wait, easy peazy. After a few minutes one of the young ladies approached me asking if I'd accept a male tech assisting me so that I'd get in/out sooner. I declined and appreciated that they didn't push or question my decision to wait. Minutes later my technician Lena came and got me. She was such a sweetheart! She has the same name as one of my favorite people and Yelp CM so I knew she had good energy. When I tell you all that I tried removing the piercing myself about 4x? Why did Ms. Lena get it out (without pain!) within TWO minutes? It may not have even been two minutes. I coughed and boom, removed. I can't believe that I put it off for so long! Super friendly staff. I came in needing downsizing for piercings I got at another studio. They took a look and suggested I wait another month, and didn't charge me for the visit since it needed more time. I came back after a month and got them changed out with no fuss in about 5 minutes. They answered my questions happily and were thorough in their responses. Love the vibes. My jewelry swap (didn't need to downsize after all) hurt quite a lot but I'm unsure if that was because they still weren't ready. Really disappointed and wanted a piercing for their Friday the 13th special but was turned away. The flyer specifically stated first come, first serve, doors open at 11 am with line cut off at 9 pm. We arrived at 7:45 pm stating they are at capacity. Well the I instagram post stated they would cut off at 9 pm not at this made up capacity considering another studio had a way bigger line and made theirs work for the time they advertised. This is THE only place I will get my ears pierced. Everyone here is so professional and good at what they do. I've been pierced by Lena and Cozmo who are just WIZARDS! The piercings themselves are virtually painless (even the rook that I got yesterday was so quick and easy) and everything is so sterile, it feels like a doctor's office back there. I have now gotten 5 piercings here, 3 cartilage and they have all healed beautifully (well not the rook yet but I have high hopes and it feels just as great as all the others did 1 day post piercing). The staff are really friendly and kind. I told Cozmo yesterday that I was really nervous and he just slowly walked me through the piercing and it went super easily. They also have a really wide selection of top notch jewelry to get pierced with so you're not stuck with boring metal balls or whatever as your earring for the next couple months. I have brought a few of my friends here to get pierced or have their piercings fixed and they have all been so impressed by the quality of service here. One friend got a set of really funky piercings in Delaware and they all had these wild curved barbells in. One of them was really red and irritated 2 months in. The staff (Royce) changed out her earrings for the proper set and within an hour her ears were not red and irritated anymore. These folks are absolutely incredible. I booked a double nipple piercing through the website with Bethrah. The website was easy to navigate and provided thorough information about what to expect/how to prepare for my piercings. When I arrived, the shop was clean and looked professional. Bethrah took me straight back to check out my anatomy and make sure the piercings I requested would work on my body. She took me back out to select my jewelry, then the receptionist talked me through aftercare while my jewelry was sterilized. I was shown proof of sterilization in the autoclave before starting. I rarely, if ever, leave a negative review, I truly hate to do it. I am more than disappointed in this shop. Two months ago I came in to have a new piercing done and a jewelry change on an existing piercing, it came to a total of $430. I came in today to change out the jewelry from the new piercing and when the piercer handed me that old jewelry, I set it down while I went to the mirror to look at the hoop he had just inserted. I walk out of the shop, get into my car & drive not even 2 full lights away, realize I don't have it, call them & it is nowhere to be found. I asked if I could look through the trash can next to the sink where I washed my hands (not the sharps container) with gloves on to look for it and was told no. This was a $210 piece of jewelry and they were completely unbothered. I had just spent another $184.00 today and will not be back again. The lack of care after money spent made me feel sick. The two stars are simply for my original piercer, Lena, who I found to be kind. This piece of jewelry was so important to me, I came home and cried. From the way they spoke on the phone I didn't trust that any effort was even made. I returned anyways and looked in the parking lot and lobby, and had already looked in my handbag, as well as the seat of my car, I have both my receipts and business card given by piercer- yet no jewelry. As I said, I realized it wasn't on my person as soon as I got into my car. This seems like a good amount to spend for them to simply not care... I didn't understand. Counted down and prompted me to inhale/exhale. As I waited in lobby for my Uber, the amount of professionalism and politeness with customers that I witnessed was just lovely! My first impression was that I am completely not cool enough for this place, but the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in good hands. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry and are totally patient for people like me that have a hard time deciding (and for those of us that are nervous as sh!t). They give you pricing for each piece you choose, so you know immediately what you're in for. Everything they sell is high quality metal. They discuss in detail their rigid sterilization procedures, which I appreciated. All of your selected jewelry and the piercing tools are autoclave sterilized, and they use the little tapes that change color to show proper sterilization temps were achieved. My appointment was with Allen and his chill demeanor put me at ease. He marked the locations, had me give the thumbs up, then it was 'go' time. I wouldn't say that it was painless, but Allen talked me through it with deep breaths and all I felt were strong pinches. It was over in just a few minutes. Arrived at the shop today with my 3 teenage daughters at approximately 2:30PM. The sign on the store stated that walk-ins are welcome. As soon as we walked in, we were hit by the immediate and strong smell of marijuana. Before we were completely inside the lobby area, the abrasive receptionist (later identified as Maya) asks if we had an appointment. I informed her that we did not but we were interested in getting pricing, policy and options for a few piercings. She asked how old my daughters were and I replied that they were 16 and 17 and interested in an industrial piercing, third lobe, helix and I was interested in a nose piercing. She immediately told me that we couldn't be serviced based on what we wanted. I work in administration for the Federal Government so I wholeheartedly understand policies. I asked if there was someone that could explain pricing, options based on their ages, availability for appointments, etc. Her answer was simply, "No." She pointed to the sign which I have posted as part of my review. Obviously, I have all available documentation for my children. The purpose of the visit was to gather an understanding of what's required to bring once the appointment is booked. Maya was very rude, unwilling to help and dismissive. As a business owner myself, I can't imagine having an employee work and represent my business the way she does. But based on these one star reviews, the piercers are great but the front office staff is horrible. That's exactly what we experienced. We left and went to Little Five Points and were taken care of with the care we expected. They explained which piercings were available for their age, informed me of the documents needed as well as the price and we returned with everything they asked for. DO NOT GO HERE. I recommend going to their website to review their policies. The services are provided by appointment only. Your appointment is confirmed before they will even let you in the door. Safe atmosphere! You cannot bring a buddy along, so if this is your 1st time or 1st time in a while getting a piercing, you'll have to put your "adulting hat" on a show up alone. They take a you through a series of questions to ensure you've eaten and have not had any alcohol. They explain the sanitization practices as well as the steps that will take place during your piercing. They have an array of jewelry to choose from. It was easy to book appointments online. You will have to plan a few days ahead since they fill up, but Virtue and Vice has a reasonable cancellation policy and will send reminders about your appointment. Bring your mask and wait outside until it's time for your appointment; they'll also check your temperature and have you sanitize your hands upon entering. The front desk staff are great, and Lena is top-notch. She's efficient but puts the client's comfort and satisfaction first. The first time I went in September and they were too busy for a walk-in, but I was determined that I only wanted them to do my piercing so I went back and waiting for my next off day and scheduled scheduling was super easy.
