Because I trusted this business as local community owners, I bought it.When I got home and weighed it, it was only 24 grams. At the current market price for 14K gold, the actual raw gold value of the piece was only $1,814. This means they charged me an astronomical $175 per gram--a staggering 131% retail markup, pocketing nearly $2,400 in pure profit on a lightweight chain.When I realized the mistake and called the store, a very nice and friendly employee named Mary tried her best to help me. Mary actually called the owners to try to get me a better price, but Laurie and Larry flatly said NO. They refused to budge, pointing to their strict "No Refund, Exchange Only" policy.To make matters worse, they are selling a much heavier 51-gram version of the exact same style bracelet in their display case for $8,200 before tax. That breaks down to $160 per gram.
