I wish I had read the reviews prior to going to the mall and finding a piercing place. I had stopped at both Clair's and Piercing Pagoda to find the most affordable option. Clair's had some stainless steal balls for $18.99 but the piercing was free as long as your got the "Starter kit". I assumed that meant you'd have to get the $8 solution which would bring it up to $26.99. So I walked down to Piercing Pagoda and saw the same $18.99 stainless steal balls with free piercing and no required starter kit. I decided that was the better deal until I filled out all the paper work and was THEN informed about needing to pay for the required protection plan and solution which tacked on another $5 or so. It still ended up cheaper than Clair's but I am not a fan of hidden fees and it frustrates me that places continue to have them. They need to list this on their advertisements or somewhere on their site! read more

Recently my wife had he ears pierced and this is her review. I had my ears pierced at Piercing Pagoda at the Springfield Town Center. The two employees were very nice but I experienced 2 negative things. First there are two displays with the different earrings you can have for the piercing. The piercing is "free". I wanted silver buds and was told they were all sold out. The items on my display were all priced $49 and up and was all 14k gold. I asked one employee if the display on the other side was the same and she said yes. So I picked a $50 pair. When she was done piercing me I walked to pass the other display and saw the choices were different and the prices started at $13. I felt deceived. The second negative was you pay first and don't get the itemized receipt until after the piercing. I was told my total was $60. I thought that was expensive but figured it was the cost of the cleaning solution. Once I got my itemizes receipt, I see that the cleaning solution was only $1. The difference was $5.99 for an extended service agreement. Neither employee stated ahead of time about this fee. When I questioned it I was told they have to charge it and it's to cover if you lose your earrings or need a re-piercing. I call bull sh*t! There was nothing in writing to explain this service agreement. So really my "free" piercing cost me $5.99. Be warned that if you use Piercing Pagoda, ask about the extended service warranty before the piercing. And be sure to look at both displays front and back. Again the two employees were nice and I like my piercings but I felt deceived, whether on purpose or not. Also they ask for your driver license and input the information into the computer even if you pay with cash instead of a credit card. I mention this because the two monitors sit high enough that ANYONE waking by can see your information (birthday, address, full name). In this day of identity theft, this practice is unacceptable. Bad customer service. Worker never appears available-to help and doest greet you. They have been out of locking earring backings both times Ive been there. I give up. The service here was awful. All I wanted was to buy a nose ring. The man who "helped" me acted like I was wasting his time and couldn't bother to answer any of my questions. He wouldn't look at me during the 30 seconds he was "helping" me but just kept looking around while he sighed loudly at me. The prices are reasonable, however, for what it's worth. read more

I was looking for a place to get my 14 year old's second ear piercing. I was impressed with piercing pagoda's staff. Even though it was a busy Saturday, the two people working were professional courteous and good at welcoming every person who stopped. Excellent multitasking. We were happy with the piercing. Yes the earrings were a bit pricier but I'm happy to pay for the higher quality. Things were clean and I watched the procedure and felt that it was safe and sterile. read more

Had bought a cartilage earring that I never got to wear because the initial piercing got infected and never got the chance to heal. I approached them at Springfield Mall in VA to exchange them and the lady with the head cover said I couldn't since it had passed the 90 day return policy. I asked to speak to the manager and she said I could exchange the earrings.. The first lady then spends the next 5 minutes talking the manager out of the exchange although the manager tells her constantly that it was fine to let me exchange.. Eventually the manager was forced to tell me I couldn't exchange the earrings because of how much that other one harassed her and pressured her...The nerves in that other lady!!! She even smirked when the manager denied my request...Horrible place and experience, very pricey and I had paid $50 on this earrings alone very cheap and fall off if worn (I was talked into buying them before the healing process) and the whole piercing process caused me over $100 Never going back again, and I will take this to upper management about that other ladies customer service.. read more

I'm only giving four stars because their pricing is a little deceptive. Expect to pay an additional $10-15 above the earring cost for their "protection plan" and cleaning solution. That said, I brought my daughter here to get her ears pierced and it was a great experience. We had tried to get it done at Claire's, but they were a total madhouse. The ear piercing here was quick and easy and the young man who did my daughter's ears made her feel completely comfortable. This is definitely where we will come for piercing from now on. read more

I am a repeat customer and I have dealt with Fifi on several occasions and have made several purchases at this location. Fifi is professional and always helpful and really cares about her customers. Went with my girls today and spent $160.00 on earrings in addition to having one of my girls get a piercing. One of my girls needed help putting in one of the earrings that we just paid $60.00 for however, an employee (I'm assuming a manager) had just shown up to work. Told Fifi that my daughter could not sit in the chair to put the earring in since she wasn't getting her ears pierced. She said to Fifi that only individuals getting their ears pierced could sit there. Say what?! So, Fifi tried to lean over the counter to put the earring in. It wasn't successful and the ear ended up bleeding because she could not put it in properly. We left and walked down to American Eagle where we put the earring in. My daughter didn't want me to make a scene but I was ticked off to say the least. I spent $160.00 bucks at your store and you can't allow YOUR customer to sit down so she can be assisted with putting the earring in?! Are you kidding me? Not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination. You'll take my hard earned money yet, not allow my kid to sit in the chair to put the freaking earring in?! I took my daughter to this place pn 0. I didn't know anything about piercing, so I asked the mall stuff and they told me that there are two places - Piercing Pagoda and Claire's. Thinking that since they specialize in piercing, I decided to come here. I was looking for the store, and didn't notice the name, and saw these 2 girls and the guy gossiping like its their last day on the planet. I went passed the store and came back to ask where piercing pagoda as and noticed that the people I was about ask are the people that I wanted to find. So, I stop and told the lady that I was here for piercing and had no clue about the process, she just showed me some piercing jewelry and told me to choose from there. The guy was yapping his heart out with the other girl. So I chose the earing, and told her that I wanted to see what it looks like, she said it cant be taken out. How do you know how far back the pin go? what they put in the back of it? No clue. The lady gave me the total and to my surprise, she already added warranty without asking me. I told her I didn't want it and had her remove it. So I bring my daughter, none of the three made any attempt to communicate with a baby.. Working at piercing place where babies get ears pierced, you would expect them to be friendly with kids .. I am used to seeing employees at other places say hi baby? how are you, arent you cutie, stuff like that.. little communication with baby, babies also react to that.. they are so friendly.. no no .. they don't even bother.. the guy was still yapping with the other girl .. I had no idea what to do, do I sit baby on chair? do I sit on chair? Shouldn't they keep some types for baby? She marked with a marker, the marker ink spreads all over, why cant they use a pointy marker that doesn't spread on ear (so you know where exactly the hole should be)? So I sit on the chair after struggling to keep baby stable, put baby on my lap and started YouTube.. She didn't even communicate with baby so baby got scared when she came and started to go after the ear. Anyway we get one ear done the baby shouts , so I had to kind og calm her by patting on her head and all that and the yapping god comes to me and tells me hold her tight and get it done, we have other people waiting. I guess we interrupted Mr Yapper's session a bit too much with a crying child. We got the other ears done and the lady just tells em ok done.. I saw a drop of blood on baby's ear, they didn't provide anything.. it fell on her shirt. The lady gave me the bag with liquid and said ok done. I was like what do I do with it? She said put on her ear twice a day. I was surprised that the baby's ear has blood and they didn't give me anything to take care of it. I came back and asked for napkin, Mr yapper was still yapping away and the 3rd girl joined them .. Piercing Pagoda, what kind of employee do you hire? The workers have zero professionalism, zero level of interaction with children and zero effort of willingness to provide customer service. It felt like we were bothering their Yapping sessions. Fifi was very sweet & helpful. Gave them $200 by accident & told me I gave them the wrong amount. ( since they were folded & bunched together) She was very honest! Way better than Claire's. 100% recommend to go to Springfield Mall. read more

Came here about 30 minutes ago and was helped by Fifi. I was a little more cautious in getting my cartilage piercing this time, I previously went to Claire's and ALL the piercings I had done with them got infected. I followed the after care perfectly but somehow still got them infected. Anyways, this time I came to Piercing Pagoda in Springfield and so far I don't regret it. Fifi was so sweet and knowledgeable on everything. I explained what had happened before at Claire's and she offered to show me the licenses and certifications they have to prove that they are truly professional and not just a teen with a piercing gun. She spoke to me as if she had known me for years and explained the after care with great detail. Another thing I really liked was that she didn't push the Pagoda Credit Card so hard like other stores do. She simply offered it and I turned it down and she said if I have questions or I'm curious about it to come to her and then left it at that. She called me sweetie and just made me feel comfortable. I don't usually need that since I already have 2 piercings and I am 23 but it was so nice to feel that comfort. Will definitely be coming back to see Fifi for my 3rd lobe holes. The only thing that almost made me not pierce my ears were the prices. Online they tell you 1 thing and have a whole section on cartilage piercings but don't explain that they can't be used to PIERCE your ear. And like every other review states, they put the warranty on your total bill even if you don't ask for it. I didn't mind too much since I paid just about $50 for the earrings themselves. Still, you should come on down ask for Fifi and then come up with your own opinion of this place read more

My 6 year old daughter just got her ears pierced here about a week ago. I don't know the lady's name who did the piercing but she may have been light skinned Asian with glasses and dark hair. Anyway she did a great job, the earrings are perfectly centered and so far so good on the healing. She seemed to follow proper protocol with the gloves, antiseptic to clean her earlobes first, etc. One of the other women did have an attitude problem for some reason so I'm glad we got this one.
