Quieter and less chaotic than the other spots on Front St, PierFront has super friendly service and a prime oceanfront patio that is dog friendly. They have a great selection of local wine & draft beers, and their light fare food menu is actually pretty decent and reasonably priced considering the tourist destination. They also had some live music going on that added to the overall good vibes here. Lots of friendly locals and visitors alike amongst the guests. I wish we could give feedback on anything other than service... My husband and I were so much looking forward to having a nice glass of wine on the beach, but were unexpectedly met with them closing 25 minutes early so that the bartender/manager (?) could go home early to her baby... Or so she said. Only to sit and watch her and the server come out to the patio and sit down with the guest that were inside at the time and enjoy visiting and hanging out with them. We were waiting for our Lyft that we had ordered thinking that they closed at 8:00, so we would have our ride pick us up at 8:00. Silly us! Fun place to try on a Wednesday night, for their "Trivia Night." It gets kinda packed so get there early to get a spot. Bartender was super sweet, and we liked the wine/food we ordered. Such a cute beach vibe with awesome refreshing food. We had a flatbread which was exquisite and my friend had tacos and I had the beach bowl which I absolutely loved. Visiting Avila Beach for the weekend and I was recommended this wine & brew. It was a pleasant and small spot ~ pretty packed and busy actually! There seemed to be a lot of medium sized parties~ maybe it's because the seating arrangements included high chairs, tables, and sofas! My friend and I enjoyed ourselves a glass of the Zinfandel and the spinach artichoke. On a staycation for our anniversary, my other half (and fur kids) visited one of the best wine bars in our county. Right on the boardwalk at Avila, complete with Ocean views, sits Pierfront Wine and Brew. On a hot day, I HIGHLY recommend one of their Frose's, I opted for the watermelon flavor. SO refreshing and light!! My husband opted for a cold beer, and we shared a charcuterie board. They also had some sandwich options and flatbreads. In addition to beer and wine, they also had several varieties of mimosas. To top it off, they are pet friendly and even provided some dog treats for our boys (and there was a water bowl for one up the pups on the patio). Service was great and friendly, with Parker taking great care of us today. They definitely continue to earn the title of one of the best local wine bars we have in SLO county. read more

Got a tiny $19 cheese plate with no crackers that looked like a half portion of previous Yelp reviews with pics of the cheese boards. Served with one cheap store bought valentine cookie and 3 white chocolate coated pretzels (please don't tell me these were the bread substitutes ). Maybe this is the new normal but it suuuuucks.
