    Ice cream

The best ice cream I have ever had!!! It must be what dreams are made of! I can't even explain how smooth and flavorful the ice cream was. I will never forget this! Yes, it was that good and you won't regret finding room for it after a delicious meal at Pigeonhole. The Burrata appetizer was good but the tartare was also a flavorful filled highlight.

If there was a 4.5 I definitely would have picked that because overall I really enjoyed going to this restaurant but I just didn't like the main dish that I got. The service was excellent. Plenty of street parking on a weeknight as well. We had 3 small plates to share - the mushroom croquettes, charred cabbage and the burrata. My favourite was definitely the mushroom croquettes which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was just yum! A close second was the charred cabbage which was actually so good - try it even if you don't love vegetables because you won't be disappointed. The burrata was good too but just less so compared to the other two. My main was the Alberta trout which came with a large piece of fish on top of grits with plenty of crispy capers on top. I thought that the capers were very overpowering and although the trout was fresh it didn't have much flavour to it otherwise. Grits had a nice buttery taste to it which was good. Overall, would go here for the mushroom croquettes for sure but would not get the trout again.

Taylor is the best server ever! There was an awful snow storm and she was so thrilled to see me! I was the first one in for dinner last night. I was recommended to come visit here by friends. I started with the burrata. I mentioned to Taylor that I like spicy and she came back and said "the chef would like to make the burrata spicy and custom for you". Would you mind that? I LOVED it! It was so good. Best burrata I've ever had and they took away the walnut! I then had the steak frites which were to die for. I ordered a glass or white wine then they brought this red over that went so well with my main course. I can't wait to visit this cozy place again. It was nice and anyone in Calgary should check it out!

Came here during the YYC Experience week in 2020. OMG, I didn't read the menu carefully. It was not like Vancouver Dine out where you pick an item in each category. It was "And". Yes it included 2 appetizer, 3 entrees and 2 desserts for $40. I was shocked. I was thinking perfect a good light meal for dinner. I have a small appetite and I tried to force myself to finish everything because I didn't want to take anything back. I ended up not feeling wow at night. Basically over ate. So for the food.... APPETIZERS: Organic Beets (Almond and Roast Shallot Dressing, Whipped Ricotta). It was super delicious. more on the saucy side. The beets were fresh. Yes this dish really opened up my pallet. Wagyu Beef Tartare (Beer Cheese, Mustard). This is actually my favorite dish out of the entire meal. It had a nice light flavor. It paired very well with the bread. I wish there was one more extra slice of butter/garlicy bread. Other than that it was super delicious. ENTREES: Glazed Cod (Toasted Nori, Buttermilk Emulsion). The cod was over cooked. It had too much sauce which made it very difficult to taste the natural flavor of the cod. The cod also seemed to be lacking some of its natural fish oil. I felt that this dish is super unhealthy. Note that this item is not available on their regular menu. This could be an introductory dish to their menu or a tasting dish. Alberta Pork Belly (Green Tomato Relish, Hazelnut). The pork was cooked perfectly. The pork had been smoked giving it a nice texture. It was crispy outside and flavorful inside. The pork had the right amount of fat so it was not dry and was super tender. I will definitely want to come back for this dish. Sunchoke Falafel (Black Sesame Labneh, Mint). This dish was not wow. It wasn't special. The mint or sauce was too overpowering. DESSERTS: Chocolate Tart (Vanilla Creme Fraiche). Nothing too special about the chocolate tart. It was good. The chocolate was not smooth as expected. It was quite dense and when you poke your fork through, the chocolate somewhat started to crack. So that tells me the chocolate is lacking in moisture. Warm Madeleines (Dulce de Leche). When I saw Madeleine on the menu, I didn't have much high expectations on them. To my surprise, they were super delicious. It had a nice outer crispy crunch and it went very well with the dipping sauce. Overall, my meal was superb. For the price I paid, I can't complain. Service was great. Decor was really nice inside. The restaurant has a super nice vibe for any groups. If you have never been to this restaurant, I suggest trying it. Back in 2017, they were listed as top 10 restaurants in Canada. I had this place bookmarked then and I am so glad I can finally give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. They are sister restaurants to some of the most popular restaurants in Calgary like Model Milk, Anju and etc.

Late Night Snack at Pigeonhole was a delightful experience. I just wish I was not that jet lag as it was way passed my bed time and I had not sleep for almost 24 hours! Tapas Style, Vegetables Forward and Something different? I like Pigeonhole surprised me with unconventional presentations and interpretation of their take of food. Charred Cabbage Albacore Tuna Ricotta Dumplings Service was attentive and our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. The decor here has this rustic speakeasy vibe. Too dark for good photos but perfect for that late night after bar hopping and you still wants a night cap!

Absolutely fabulous. I have start by saying I love any restaurant that thane the cheese out of the fridge before opening. Small plates restaurant with impeccable service. I enjoyed the pork ribs, grilled cabbage with some delicious cheese on top, homemade burrata with peas and mint, tomat Again tonight delicious...exceptional consistent restaurant

Whoever rates this place 3 stars or less went on a bad day. If I had to rate everything I had out of 5 stars: Dr Pepper Old Fashion 5/5, Beef Tartare (must have, such amazing tastes) 6/5, Chicken Parm 3.5/5, Skinny Fries 5/5, Service 6/5. Yes, I typed that correctly -- service far exceeded expectations: super friendly staff and gave a couple of free sample drinks. Worth a visit!!

This was a very cute spot for brunch. The food and drinks were delicious. I would highly recommend the Berry White, I really enjoyed the fruity and floral flavours with the cinnamon.

Pigeonhole is Model Milk's twin sister with an eclectic twist towards small shareable plates. They've made quite a name for themselves already despite only being open for a year. The entrance isn't where you'd expect it to be but that's part of the charm. Love the charcoal coloured exposed brick and vintage sign. The patio out front looked like a great place to sit for couples or if you wanted to people watch the night away. The menu is a one pager and split into vegetables, meat, seafood, seasonal, caviar, cheese and sweets. The space is absolutely gorgeous; elegant, cozy, modern and intimate. Love the wide open kitchen concept. We were seated right in front of all the action. Service is excellent and our waitress was able to walk through the full menu with my sis to make sure everything was good for her to eat. - French 75 ($14.50) - BC cherries ($12.00) - Clams casino ($4.00) - Ricotta dumplings ($16.00) - Fresh oysters ($20.00 for 1/2 dozen) - Smashed cucumbers ($11.00) - Zucchini ($13.00) - Heritage angus steak ($26.00) - Grilled duck leg ($18.00) - Lamb breast ($15.00) - Stuffed mountain view chicken ($29.00) - Cheese platter ($35.00 for five cheeses) - Strawberries and cream ($8.00) Flavours, presentation, and service - Pigeonhole has it all covered. We had a great meal here but my only complaint here would be the portion sizes. Besides that, it's a great addition to 17th Ave's burgeoning restaurant scene.

We were greeted by a group of bartenders (who all happened to be wearing toques) when we walked in, and I felt both welcomed and slightly out of place (no toque). The cocktails were meticulously crafted--priced at $15-20 a drink, it's on par with bigger cities like Vancouver and Toronto, but they also live up to the standard. Honestly, the highlight of our visit to Missy's was the Missy's This That charcuterie board. Each piece of cured meat was sliced impossibly thin, the olives were meaty and delicious, and the cheeses were carefully selected to complement everything. I loved that it also came with a side of thick cut bread and pickled vegetables. One of the best charcuterie boards I've had at a restaurant for sure. Not cheap but worth the pretty penny on a slightly fancy night out.
