Next text there are supposedly another $3000 repairs. I called for explanation of 3 fuel charges that were the same price and no description. I never received an explanation from Gil or anyone else. I picked up there are 3 or 4 people, again they take my payment no explanation, In this situation, I would hope a Service Manager would explain the repairs and the options. I recently called to get my Tiguan appraised to see if the value justified the repairs or need investigate buying a new car. The Service Manager said I could make an appointment online or he would make the appointment. I ended the call. Do I want to work with a dealership that is clueless as McGrath? As a Sales Person, I would approach this entire Customer Experience differently. I am deciding if it is easier to go to another Volkswagen Dealer that respects me as a customer.

There was a little hiccup although Ryan quickly resolved and even had a driver send a car from Marion to Dubuque for me! Ryan provided information and stayed true to his word - which is refreshing! The only real problem I had was Clay (finance) really pushed an extended warranty. My father and I had said no multiple times. He even brought in another person to try and sell the warranty. I understand trying to sell you something, although this was a little too pushy!! Even with that, I would definitely recommend anyone buying a car to see Ryan and George at McGrath! Matt is an absolute angel!!…read more The steep pitch of the Ichiban exit (yes I was driving at a normal speed and yes others have had the same trouble! - but no, the restaurant hasn't fixed it ) caused my car to bottom out and knocked my bumper RIGHT OFF!! We heard a bang and a scrape so immediately pulled over in to the first parking lot, which happened to be Vaughn's Automotive. We called the 24 hour emergency number and Matt came right over to help us! He patched us back together so we could safely drive until we can get a more full repair. He was competent, he was kind, he was helpful, and he was funny ... he took a bad situation and made it as good as we could've hoped for. This is a great and honest and kind man! You can feel confident about placing your trust in him! I drove from Rockford to visit my daughter and thanks to Matt, we still made it to line dancing!!

What started off as a conversation about $300 for replacing turned into a final project close to $480. When we talked to Elizabeth Garage's front desk, each time they were unaware of what they were actually doing to the truck, concerning when dropping it off! When picking up the truck we were blown away by the price! With the owner gone on lunch break we had no choice but to pay. Then they didn't know where they parked the truck, which we eventually found across the street in a parking lot, unlocked with keys in the vehicle! Perfect situation for a theft!!!!!! Especially with personal belongings in the truck! After calling multiple other car repair shops INCLUDING Toyota, we were told that the part that was put in the truck wasn't even a Toyota part! On top of it, all car repair places were coming in over $100 cheaper! EVEN TOYOTA CAME IN CHEAPER WITH THE CORRECT TOYOTA PART! Walking back in there to talk to the owner, letting him know the price was outrageous and more than originally discussed, was basically told okay is what it is. No offer of reimbursement for the over charge! Telling them they lost multiple customers, they didn't care and said okay. They don't care about customer service or overcharging their customers. I even looked up the part on Amazon with the model number they wrote on the receipt and it is $125 - they charged me $350 for the part! We were told by the owner he marks up his products 75% after the job was completed. They lost not only a family with four vehicles, but we are going to let their current customers know that originally referred them. Even the store owners in town we talked to said they stopped going there because they are overpriced! This clearly isn't the first time... it's such a shame since we like supporting small business! I hope the owners read this review and realize what they are doing in overcharging their customers. I hope they work on their customer service and I truly hope they stop putting their customers cars across the street in an unattended parking lot, unlocked with keys in the car!
