We love the Smokin Blues Lounge! They now run the full upstairs menu down in the lounge so you don't have to stick to sandwiches and appetizers. All the wonderful, unique menu items that we love about dining upstairs can now be enjoyed in the more relaxed atmosphere. And we have never heard a band there that we didn't like. read more

I liked this place a lot. There was a high-school jazz band playing while we were there eating dinner. It was pretty loud, so if your kids and such don't like loud places, then I wouldn't recommend it for that type of person. Waiter was extremely nice, and was very considerate and great at explaining things. (Also liked to run up and down the stairs) I had the Combo, Pulled pork, Chicken, And 1/4 rack of ribs. It came with a lot of vegetables on the side, I didn't eat those though. There was a choice of soup or salad, I chose the salad and went with the Parm&peppercorn. I never eat salads, And I should more often, because THAT was good. We also had chicken fingers, it came with the best honey mustard sauce in the world. It looks weird, but don't let it fool you. The little green things make it look a little awkward. All in all, I would go back to that place if I'm ever in town again. read more

A date night at this restaurant ended in culinary disappointment. The lunch has always been great so we assumed dinner would be equally so. We had a calamari appetizer and I ordered the seafood sampler. I've had better seafood at Red Lobster (not a huge fan of theirs either.) Calamari, shrimp, and scallops were so rubbery I didn't finish any of these portions - a personal first. The swordfish and salmon were very dry. My boyfriend ordered steak and that, at least, was better than par. I felt our meals were not worth the expense and would advise avoiding all seafood dishes. read more

Beautiful old building in downtown Lacrosse! Had an above average barbecue burger with spiral fries and house "fry sauce". Great Americana! Went there for their "lotsa Pasta"....the food was very good, but the service was on the low end acceptability. Initial bar drinks were late/forgotten. Coffee order was never refilled - even after a request to the waitress. On another note, my wife and I went and found ourselves filled after the salad bar/pasta bar. We asked for a take-out box for the pasta that we could not eat, which was rejected. Obviously, we do not expect to eat our fill, then, get another bowl of pasta to take home. Our request was regarding our initial bowl of pasta...if we did not eat it, it is wasted. This is the main reason for the lower score. We did not try to "scam" the restaurant. A simple observation by the waitress, would have realized that this was our only bowl of pasta for the night. Unfortunately, she did not: A) Pay attention to patrons; and B) Realize that it was our initial/only bowl of pasta we had. While it may be a "company policy" to not provide take-out boxes for the "Lotsa pasta", we have seen happen multiple times. read more

I am only giving this restaurant 4 stars because of the menu options & an allergic reaction I had. If I was to break it down: We were there to celebrate my mother in law - It was for her 70th birthday. The waitress did an AMAZING job. Her name was Madyson. We were there from 630-10 pm. She was an excellent server! Very attentive, sweet, polite, respectful, professional, kind & did an amazing job with 9 of us on Sat night. The Ambiance was really quite romantic! I wish the menu had vegan options. I ordered the Shrimp & Scallops with a Champaign butter sauce on them. It seemed the safest of choices & I asked our server lots of questions. I don't have the exact description of the meal. I am allergic to all nightshade vegetables & spices. This one appeared safe. Every entree comes with white potatoes. And I am allergic. The server said I could have couscous. I asked her what was in it & she said Red peppers & I had to decline because I am allergic! She said it was a pre-made mix. So, there was no other option. I think they need to add options for people who can't eat white potatoes. Or make couscous plain & not from a mix. So, I had to pay the price of the whole meal & not get a side. I got asparagus. When I started eating the Shrimp & scallops my mouth started swelling & I felt a spicy flavor. I asked the server to ask the chef what was in the sauce because on the menu it said nothing of spices. Yes, it had cayenne pepper & paprika in it- both of what I am allergic too. I have been sick since Saturday night. She apologized & they remade it for me w/o the spices. It was very good food. I just wish the menu listed everything in their sauces. Usually they do. Overall it was a nice dinner. I wish they sold champagne by the glass as well. The restaurant is very nice & very clean. Bathrooms were very clean as well. The food itself was cooked to perfection! The Shrimp & Scallop that I did eat was delicious! I would return. It's one of the fanciest restaurants in the La Crosse area. I just think the menu needs to be more flexible for people with allergies or special diets. read more

Consistently the best place to eat it town. I've never had anything I didn't love at Piggys. A little spendy compared to other places in town, but the food is top notch. I most recently tried the prime rib, which was heavily smoked and one of the most delicious things I've ever put into my mouth. Wine was delivered in perfect style. If you're looking for a really great night out with a significant other, this is the place to go. I'm hoping as many people as possible see this and take heart. My friends and I were visiting LaCrosse for three days to see the chapels and shrines of the area. My mom was part of the group and we were also celebrating her 98th birthday. Mom uses a transport chair. Our original choice for dinner was the WATERFRONT restaurant. We heard good things about them. We went there just before 4PM and were told we had to sit outside and eat. Mom can't manage the heat so we asked to be seated in the dining room. We were told they did not open until 5. After three attempts to get them to loosen their policy we left. They REFUSED TO ACCOMMODATE US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Soooo my group and I left the restaurant and headed to PIGGY'S. We had eaten at PIGGY'S on a previous visit to the area and were quite pleased. Let me tell you.......................PIGGY'S did everything the WATERFRONT did not... Even tho they also did not open their lounge until 4, they took us right in...offered us waters as they worked to open. The manager was there on the spot to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Even tho their dinner menu did not kick in until 5PM, they offered us any selection from lunch or dinner we selected. All they asked was to give them a bit of time to get it ready....WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE....the food was amazing...the service was impeccable....truly one of the nicest dining experiences. SOOOOOOO to any one out there.. try PIGGY'S...If you are hosting a convention, an event, a networking event, a chamber of commerce event, a Rotary event, a Kiwanis event...don't go anywhere else. GO TO PIGGY'S and tell them SEVEN grateful ladies from Chicago appreciated all they did to make them feel welcome and serve them a wonderful meal they will remember for a long, long time. The ambiance is the dining room is unimpressive, cheap looking actually. The pork chop I had was fairly good but the order also included ribs and pulled pork- which were salty and below par (have had better at the drive thru unfortunately). I cannot begin to even say how excellent this restaurant was! This was my very first time coming to Piggy's and we came in a group of 8. Immediately from walking through the doors I noticed how clean and very classy this restaurant was. We were seated in a private group room and we started with our drink orders, which came immediately. We then moved onto our Entrees, I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Steak Tenderloins with the Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and a Side Salad. The Tenderloins were cooked perfectly 10/10 because most places mess that up. Either its too raw or cooked way too long.(This was Perfect)! The Mashed Potatoes were also delicious (very creamy). Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. After Dinner we moved onto Desserts. Everyone had one and my boyfriends parents got free desserts. We all shared a Dessert Platter and I personally ordered a Raspberry Cheesecake and that was fantastic definitely did not taste frozen, It tasted soo fresh. We had a wonderful fun experience, the only thing I noticed that I didn't care for was we only had one very sweet waiter for our entire party which kind of seemed unfair to him to handle a large group by himself. I think a recommendation would be to at least have 2 waiters per room. Otherwise this gets a 10/10 from me. read more

There's too much competition in La Crosse to have to deal with screaming manager intimidating long-time patrons. Good food needs to be complimented by good service, not a manager yelling inappropriately at customers. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I have been to Piggy's before this time I ordered the shrimp and scallop meal and opted for extra shrimp instead of the scallops and a baked potato instead of the cheddar Mash. The waitress failed to tell me that there was an upcharge of $3 for the baked potato and I got a total of 6 shrimp this hardly seem like extra. I've been here several times and I'm willing to pay good money for a good meal however a $30 for 6 shrimp and a baked potato seems like a rip-off!!!! I will NOT be returning to Piggys! read more

Very disappointed with last meal at Piggy's. My ahi made me very sick. My husband's steak was way over-cooked. You have to pay extra for any different selection of side. For example...they only serve a very high calorie mixed potato...if you want something more simple,you pay extra. The upgraded salad was not anything special. We've chosen Piggy's as our go-to special occasion restaurant in the past with happy results, but our holiday family dinner last night was awful!! it started with a 10 minute wait for a server and a terrible appetizer platter. The pork belly and jam was tasty, but the calamari was under cooked and bland, the crab cakes were 80% bread crumbs, and the stuffed mushrooms needed salt; yuk. The bisque was OK but the house salad was seriously overdressed. Entrees, even worse. The shrimp and sea scallop fettuccine Alfredo was cooked improperly, the scallops had no sear and everything was swimming in gobs of cheese. Why is there cheese in Alfredo sauce, which is butter, cream, salt, pepper, and garlic? The sauce for the short ribs had been so over-reduced they were inedible. All you could taste was salt, salt, salt. Last, but not least, the duck. This was OK. The fat hadn't been rendered enough but once I removed that (which is a shame) the meat itself had good flavor. When we complained about the short ribs we were told this is how they were suppose to taste; which is ridiculous. We've eaten amazing food around the country, on cruises, and abroad. We have no problem spending over $120 on a special occasion dinner but the food at Piggy's was anything but special! We definitely need a NEW local special occasion restaurant... read more
